He WON!!!! He played a lot and had a blast!! He really loves it and is doing so good!! Poor thing though, he got a little car sick on the hour and a half drive there and had a little trouble getting started. Poor thing!! The roads were very windy and curvy. I would have been sick for sure if I wasn't driving.
Hey! Thanx so much for that peice of advice. I really like that idea of praying, I've alwaysn been consistent with Camren, for the most part, and I agree, I do believe that has a HUGE impact on kids, and is the key! The Prayer thing, I am going to start doing that Thank you! Camren and I pray before meals together, buthave recently gotten out of the habit of praying at bedtime, even. I like the idea of praying more often period, but even more at the beginning of the day to get you prepared for what may come that particular day! I like that idea alot. I'm glad to hear that you've started some new habits with yourself, as well. I'm happy for you!! :-) I had some night lastnight trying to talk to my neighbors about the bible. That was a really tough and loooong night! We were talking outside their house for about 2 and a half hours, and I even called my other neighbor (memeber of the church) over to help with my discussion, A VERY heated discussion, it was really stressful. I called him over though b/c he's more knowledgeable in the bible and it was just this huge thing, it got way out of hand! Anyways, but I asked the church for prayers this am to help study and be able to understand what I'm studying from the bible, so I could help with teaching others. Its sad how many people around here, are just content with knowing only SOME of the bible, and believeing bits of peices but not the bible as a whole. I'm going to start studying one on one with my neighbor and that way I can help Kyle learn more, and hopefully, eventually bring him to The church. I don't want anything more than to have him be saved and the family as a whole go to church and be faithful. You know. Its sooo incredibly hard to try to do it on my own, w/out him. So, I'm using this opportunity of Kyle being away to kind of get me reared up and to kind of get "ready" for him to come home and test me, I know it will happen when I don't want to get up on Sunday am to go to church b/c he'
whoops...I didn't mean to push enter. lol. but he'll be snoozing, and even though Kyle says that he wants me to go to church if thats what makes me happy and he won't ever tell me NOT to go and what not, but him not wanting to go, has such a powerful influence on me, its unreal. I am trying now to be the opposite, I want to be that powerful influence (the example) for him, not the other way around. Well, for those of you who know my family history..this one takes the cake. Jacob, who last year was admitted Aug, Sept, Oct, Nov and Dec for poorly controlled asthma has been AWESOME for 8 months now with not one flare up!!!! Then, we had a little "freeby" get away last weekend and we came home to a monster of issues. Jake kept complaining of jaw pain and I looked in his mouth and he seemed to be getting his 6 year old molars. They were really swollen and red. I gave him Tylenol( remember he has an anaphylactic reaction to Motrin). Well, he stopped complaining. A few days later, he was at swim team and he told the swim coach his ear hurt, so I told my mom to bring him up to see Dr. V and she did. He said that he had swimmer's ear. We treated with ear drops for 5 days. 2 days later, we were at the Hudson's and he was not playing at all with the kids, he said his ear hurt again. At church...his teacher came and got me out of class and said, he really looks like he is in pain. So, I took him home and then it all started. He was screaming for hours, so, about midnight, I took him in. The doctor asked which ear hurt and they checked the GOOD ear..that had an ear infection. Then, he checked the so called BAD ear, and that ear was completely closed up from swelling and had drainage from a middle ear infection and on top of that...swimmers ear on the external part. WHAT!!!!!!! How can this be??? Of all of the issues we have dealt with...ears have never been an issue. So, due to the fqact that he can't take Motrin, they had to give Lortab (Tylenol with Codeine), yup, you guessed it...All over the van. Obviously codeine did not set right with his GI tract...that went on for 3 days. Lots of cleaning up. So, 4 days later, he is getting worse, now...he had red swelling behind his ear and does not respond when I speak to him, so I get nervous(about hearing loss). I called the Pedi and they were closed(weekend). So now, I am left with old reliable...Dr, Kalik. (He is my all time #1 source) He suggested that I take him into the ER and get re checked because he thinks he may not be getting any drops into the canal because it is so swollen. He says that they may need to place a WIC. So, off we do the ER thing again..indeed, they had to place this tube inside his ear to provide an opening for the antibiotic ear drops to penetrate. They offered my little man Morphine to help with the pain during the procedure and he declined and took it so well. He is such a trooper. So, they inform me that we have to return after church yesterday to re check to make sure that it is working and the infection has not spread to the mastoid bone. We did, God took care of him...he improved so much in just a few hours. Amazing!!! Today, he woke up sleeping on that side, I couldn't believe it, medical tech amazed me every day!!!
Bottom Line...$250.00 X 3 ER visit copays
#300.00 in 4 prescriptions
Good Medical Coverage is so hard to find today. But, at least we have it now, it could have been much, much more.

Oh MaryAnn!! Poor Jake :( I can't believe that he refused drugs!! Little nut!! I understand though, sounds like he has a low drug tolerance. I can tell you, you would rather just endure the pain than throw up or feel loopy. I'm cringing just thinking about it. I have had you on my mind all weekend too. It just went by so quick. I know that when I have someone on my mind, I have to call them. Sorry about all the copays :( That makes me want to cry. Tell him we love him and hope he feels better very soon!!
Oh No! I didn't know this yesterday either! I just LOVE that Kid! Please give him a hug for me! I hope your hubby was adding to the love bank with supportiveness during all this!
MARYANN...I am sooooo sorry about all this! Poor Jake! He just gets all the bad stuff, huh? :( PLEASE give him a huge hug for me...and then tell him to give you one right back for me! :) I love you!!! Hope things settle down for you all soon!

So glad that he is improving that much! I would also have been starting to freak out thinking about hearing loss. Sorry that he can't handle the drugs. My youngest one took Tylenol with codeine and couldn't get enough water! She drank like crazy and I asked the nurse who informed me that it was normal. Wow, refusing drugs but then, if he might get sick off of it, I could understand! Sorry that it took all of the ER visits but glad that someone was able to fix the problem!!!
I am SO glad to hear that he is feeling so much better. I can't believe it's so bad that he's bleeding in the ear canal!! That's terrible!! Glad he's sleeping too, yikes!! Tell him "Hi" for us!!

Well, this is the time for water parks,theme parks,beaches and pools. Or, at least for me and my family here in Florida. This has been a great summer in the water because this year I can sit and watch all 3 boys play and jump in and out of the pool without having to hold onto the youngest. ALL of them are great little swimmers and I am relaxing. The youngest, Alex is already jumping off of the cliffs at our water parks and the diving board at the pool where my 2 older boys do swim team. IT IS WONDERFUL!!! Our newest family amusement is ROCKBAND, if any of you are familiar. It is where you can have 1 person playing electric guitar and the ohers are either playing drums or singing vocals in the microphone...all through the XBOX. And to think that I hated that XBOX thing. :) It actually is good for something.
Our bible class now is...His needs...Her needs...what an awesome class. It has been the best thing in our marriage. Myself included and a few others have asked about this for several years but were always blew off that there was not enough interest, well, Tim Tabor, some of you might know of him...read the book and he decided that he wanted to teach a class on this and asked the elders if he could do so. Well, he is and it actually is so so good. I look forward to each and every class. Both Michael and I have learned a great deal and it also gives you things to discuss after. I def think that everyone should have to go through this class, BEFORE marriage. It is a great help and gives so much insight to the opposite sex. Read the book if you haven't..well worth the studying. :) See ya

We are doing the theme of the shower based on the colors on the invites. The baby's room is "antique toys" it's really cute! Agreed about the bible class. I think that these topics are going to be interesting, particularly discussign them with everyone in the class! Looking forward to it. Hope you are enjoying your week!
I just ordered that book and Brian started reading it while I was gone!! He says it's really good!! We are thinking about having a class through the winter at different houses on that book!! I had another book recommended to me called Love and Respect and ordered it on CD. Brian listened to it while I was gone and said that it was excellent!! He already has told some of his guy friends and we are gonna pass it around when we're done with it!!

Well, to those still wondering..yes, he did break his foot. However, he is still able to go to camp. We opted for the waterproof cast, so he can still participate in the swimming activities. Hello, they have a wavepool and a lazy river. I could not say no to the waterproof and make him miss out on all of that. But...I had to change his activities from: Baseball, kickball, football, basketball and soccer to //umm... batik art, balloon art, board games, sign language and ductigami. Sign language he has done for 3 years and loves it, ductagami he did last year and seemed impressed, but the others...well, at least it is air conditioned activities. LOL :) Anyway, been at wal-mart and target more than I wanted the last few days getting things all packed up for him. I am hoping that this year we will have a NICE AND EASY clean break before the tears. So far, he seems really excited. Wish us luck and pray for me and April, we are taking 5 kids to Gainesville by ourselves, whooo... after the drop off.....it will be just the 2 of us all the way home, no kids...who hooo... peace for 3 hours. Knowing me, i'll spend that few hours dwelling on whether he is upset or happy. Take care and have a great rest of the weekend everyone!!!
How crazy that he broke his foot during VBS! My youngest recently broke her arm when she fell off of another kids back. I hope he has a wonderful time at camp! I hope you and April have fun off in Gainesville!
Wow about the first year! As for the typos, I don't really notice them. I am glad that he made it through the first year. Did he go by himself the first year? I think that it is better if they have a friend to go with them. I keep wondering when I should think about sending my girls. They are doing day camps this year and staying each night with my sister and her family.
I appreciate your prayers for my surgery and that it will go well. I told Cheryl I couldn't remember you and she showed me a picture and reminded me that Christopher and Savannah sit together some. I do remember that.
OK>>>here we go again. 4th year at this and this time every year I feel like the world's WORST mom. My oldest has about 7 days left until camp,which ...this year will be quite different..this year instead of Leesburg, we have to drive him to Gainesville. He is getting really nervous AGAIN, but he ends up loving the week and has a great time EVERY YEAR. So, we are trying to get his clothes and items together this weekend. Want the drawback, normally, he is closer than what he will be this year, I am taking him in this afternoon for an x-ray because we think that he broke his foot at Vacation Bible School this week, so..that will put a BIG, HUGE damper on his week. This year, they have their own zoo, horseback riding, go-carts, lake, putt-putt and much more, if he ends up with a cast. I am not sure that he will enjoy himself. So..if the x-ray shows up that it is broken, do I send him or do I cancel for this year??? HELP!!!!!
You've got to be kidding?!!! Oh man. That is a toughy. Ok, don't worry, just get the x-rays first and see how it goes. Chances are that he would be scheduled to get his cast next week anyway, soooo, he would have to stay home. If it's not broken, you HAVE to send him!! You know that he'll enjoy himself when he gets there!! I'll be praying!!
