I was able to early vote Friday after school. I only had to wait about 35 minutes. There were a lot of first time voters in line with me. One guy in front of me was very confused about the whole process. The lady asked him if he knew what to do and he just shook his head---she walked over with him and said "Here, I'll show you what to do." We have no idea how many people will be voting for the more liberal candidate. PLEASE GET OUT AND VOTE FOR the cadidate closer to your beliefs. Your vote counts!
Voting always makes me nervous, because I'm afraid I'll mess up my vote somehow. Brian & I got out early to vote & I'm so glad that I did now! It was great to see you the other night!
We finally got power back at our school today. We got a call that teachers will go back to school tomorrow and kids on Thursday. I have had some good times during this storm and after storm time. I have spent some good time with family --Mother is still out here in Crosby staying with us. She is still without power. So you KNOW we have been eating good.
I can't believe yall have been without power this long! I got a new students yesterday from galveston. She said her house was destroyed and they will be here until her dad can rebuild.
Yep our little vacation was nice huh? We went back to school on Monday. The only bad thing is...it's like we are starting the school year all over again. blah :-/
Hey Denise, I would have loved to get to visit with all of you at the fundraiser! Maybe we can plan it for next year and celebrate Matt's birthday while we are there. I have such fond memories of our Thanksgiving that year in Texas. Please tell everyone hello. I hope to see you over the holidays. .
10. Decorating the house-(with Plywood)
9. Dragging out boxes that haven't been used since last season.

5. Family and friends from out of state calling you.
4. Buying food you don't normally buy...and in large quantities.
3. Days off from work.
2. Candles.
And the NUMBER ONE reason Hurricane Season is like Christmas:
1. At some point you're probably going to have a tree in your house.
My niece, Deborah Williams, sent this to me. I thought everyone would enjoy. Have a great week.
Things are back to normal on Bohemian Hall Road. We lost power until Tuesday night-----but Mark kept us comfortable with the use of generators. We were able to have showers and everyone kept their freezers running. They even brought my mother's freezer out to Crosby and plugged it in out here. She is still out here with us. Her house in Baytown is still without power. There was no major damage to the houses out here--except for Scott and Jenny's. Most people lost some trees and a lot of limbs----fences----Driving around--there are so many blue tarps on the top of the roof of just about ever other house you see. Massive trees were just uprooted and thrown over into yards and onto some houses. This storm covered such a tremendous amount of area---that is the reason it is taking so long to get power back to everyone. I heard them say on the news the other night that it was not just a city recovering but it was an area the size of the state of New York. My prayers will continue to go out for all of those that have lost their homes --and have been uprooted from their homes---while the damage is being taken care of. I am very thankful for the cool weather God has blessed us with --it has been very comfortable sleeping with the windows open-and has made the clean up a little easier on those working outside.
We did enjoy our time with family. I'm glad that all of you are safe. I'm sure y'all have been eating well. I miss Aunt Virgie so much. Please give her a hug for me.
Kyle called me last night and told me Kelli said YES! I am so excited. My prayers for Kyle have been answered. Kelli is Paul and Deborah Cavendar's daughter. I went to FC with Paul and with Deborah's sister --Denise Prater Qualls. Both of my boys met their future wives at Florida College. They both are from Birmingham, AL and their families attend Vestavia Church of Christ. Isn't that neat. I couldn't have picked 2 girls any better if I had chosen them myself. My boys have done GOOD! So-next summer we will have another Alabama wedding. YEAH!
I will add pictures later.
That is wonderful! What a great blessing to have your children marry faithful christians. It gives you hope for a happy life for them and their children (with God). I am so happy for you all.
Hi Denise. Your sweet Matt and Jana helped me get set up on pleonast this weekend. I hope to stay in touch with everyone a little more closely. I thought about all of you during this hurricane. I am glad you all came through OK. I am very excited for Kyle and Kelly! I know you are too!
