Andrew (8 in June) has been worried since this summer when his younger brother (then 5) lost his first tooth. In fact, when we were at the dentist in October, he insisted on taking a closer look at the x-rays. Well, with a lot of coaching from his Dad, last night he finally lost his first tooth! This is what he wrote to the tooth fairy: "Dear Tooth Fairy, You may have my tooth in exchange for $5.00. Love, Andrew" Well, the tooth fairy did leave him $5.00, but I think that may be the going rate for the first tooth only. Hard economic times have to hit the tooth fairy too, right? He's already working on loosening up the rest, adding up all the money he's going to make....uh oh.
Thank you!!! :) And thank you for the E-card!! Awwww, look how cute Andrew looks! FINALLY andrew ;)! Look at the sweet pirate party below.....Jaden would have LOVED to be there! Kiss 'dem maties!
We celebrated Josh and Tyler's birthday on Saturday. Being that their birthdays are only 6 days apart, we combined them. They both agreed on a pirate theme which was not only a miracle, it was also helpful as I'm pretty sure the mommy guilt would have caused me to do a two-themed party. We all had a great time, they're growing up!!!
Since even before Justin and I had kids we debated on whether or not our family would participate in Halloween. Well, so far we have. We live in a small neighborhood of about 30 homes and Justin quickly takes the boys around to those houses for trick-or-treating. Not a big deal, just dress up and a little candy. Every year we revisit the debate, we'll see if we continue to celebrate this holiday. Anyhow, they were sure cute this year!!
Here's a few new photos of the boys (all four of them). I spent all day Monday working on the boy's knight costumes. I don't get along well with sewing machines, it should have only taken a couple of hours at the most to sew them but it took all day. Oh well, at least my knights aren't too picky. Give them a sword and a shield and they'll be in heaven. We got pumpkins and we'll carve them on Thurs. I'll post pictures of the costumes and festivities later. (Don't worry Linda I WILL post pictures!! :)
I knew homeschooling wouldn't be easy but this year I'm really discovering that fact. So far I spend about 5 hours per day homeschooling 2 kids and trying to occupy the third during that time. I thought I would be able to homeschool Andrew and Josh at the same time but that hasn't worked out so well. They both require hands on pretty much the entire time so I have to do one at a time. I feel like a regular teacher except for the fact that I can't send them home to their parents after we're done! We're having a good time though and they seem to be learning a lot and enjoying the material. Here are some cute pictures of the boys giving each other "haircuts".
Amen to that!! I do love it, but is a very time consumming thing. I have good news for you though. They eventually get to be independant workers!! Austin (12) does almost all of his work without help (I just grade it), and Connor (10) is close to being independant. The girls however take alot of work.
Hope those pretend haircuts don't become real ones :) Do boys do that to each other? Both of my girls have hair their hair cut. Jennifer by a boy in Kindergarten and Kelli to herself. :)
