I am actively seeking a roommate. 09-28-08 09:47pm CST
...since my house is "in the process". Sort of, almost.

Since I don't know exactly what I'll be doing for the next couple-few months, I don't want to sign a lease. So, if you've already got an apartment or house and want to sublet on a temporary basis, that would be great. I prefer Allen/McKinney (TX), but will go as far as Plano.

I love to bake. :)

Leave me a message.
sharonWell, I have a roomate, but I bet you're nice and clean. That's always a plus.
kerriganI'm in northeast Arlington, which is clearly out of your range, but I do have lots of extra space if you find yourself in a pinch.
laughing_eyesI love it that we can share L&H stories. Thanks!
kerriganI called it "The Hanson Source." Or perhaps the words weren't capitalized. It was hosted on Geocities. Remember Geocities?

I don't like FireFox 3 09-07-08 08:47pm CST
Use Google Chrome instead.
laughing_eyesI haven't downloaded it yet. Much cooler?
kerriganI've been advised by the tech support staff of the interface for my online classes that Firefox 3 won't support it. Since being able to access that is kind of important for me this semester, I haven't upgraded.
larryDitto
csusoftballgirlDan says that Chrome doesn't have a pop-up blocker or whatever it is that hides ads. I think that's the thing that's holding him back.
adamandjessesdadI haven't tried Chrome. Some things don't work on Firefox 3, like our time entry system at work. There was something else I ran across the other day that wasn't working (I think it was a bill I was trying to pay), and I finally realized I needed to use IE because it was broken of FF3.
meaganIf Chrome ends up not being as fantastic as I think it is, I'm going to look into downgrading FireFox... bleh.
larryI have chrome... and it's pretty good. And it does have a pop-up blocker.
larryBut I have also always like IE better than FireFox... I'm weird, I guess.
larryOh, and so far the only thing about Chrome I don't really like is how sensitive my mouse pad scroller thing is compared to IE. I know, I could change it, but then if I end up not liking Chrome I'd just have to change it back for IE.
edanIt may block popups, but it does not have Adblock Plus, and I suspect it never will since adverts are Google's only source of revenue.
diannesThanks for your comments on Jim's blog, about GF stuff. He is really determined to do what he can. I have your mom's email and will try to contact her, soon.

Tell people, otherwise they won't know.
Remind them, otherwise they'll forget.
laughing_eyestrue
campgalamen. this applies to many things:)
adamandjessesdadMaybe I don't want them to know. :-)
adamandjessesdadVideo about the vog on MSNBC.
shesheremember me??
kailuaHey WOW! How cool is that!?! We were just there from 17 May until 2 June! I believe it was you who told me to never move to where you liked to vacation. Was that you? If it was you, I asked you why you felt that way, but you never answered back. Why do you feel that way? I am interested in what you have to say because I am thinking of moving there.
kailuaBTW, I was thinking of naming one of my children Meagan, but Meagan Mongeon was a little too much. :D
kailuaOh yes, you are very correct about the expense. I took a photo of a can of green beans in downtown Honolulu Foodland - $2.09. Last January on the Big Island I just had to take a photo of 1 lb strawberries almost $8.00. Incredible to say the least. We are fortunate to be able to shop at the Navy Exchange and other military stores.
kailuaYou are also wise about the mulitple family living situation/structure. It is a wonder how so many people sometimes fit in some of the smaller homes.
kailuaChristopher and Nicole are the only children I have. They are both grown so schooling is not an issue.
kailuaI also have fleeting thoughts of sunami - gulp! I have spent time on Maui, Kuaii, Oahu and Big Island. Sometimes the traffic can be a bother. If we do move there, it will not be for a few more years.
kailuaI am 46 years old and have never lived in any other state but Vermont. I know I would miss it. It may seem strange but every time I leave Hawaii, I feel as if it is calling to me.
kailuaI was discussing with Nicole about how expensive it would be to live in Hawaii. Some people I know who have lived in Hawaii all their lives say that it is boring because it is the same every day. No changing of the seasons. I think that since I've had cancer, that I look at things in a different light then most people. I'll never know for sure unless I try. If I do not care for it, then I can follow your example and move back. :)
tortillahey there! actually, i would like to know about one of those groups. well, that's not completely true. i would like to know if one exists, but i don't have time to get on the 'groups' on here. they are VERY good and encouraging, i know, but i would never tend to them like i would like to. so, i really don't know. BUT, i will ask 'aleta' (samford) who is on here and is a total pro at teaching. she is wonderful. i am just sure there is something on here like that bc i think i remember seeing something about it. anyway, i know i have met you before and i wish i could remember what you look like! maybe you should come visit us down here! you could stay with us any time! as long as you don't mind 3 little stinkers running around and showing off to you! you should come this august when we have a big party for my husband. we will have bands and a jamboree! fun!!!
grrBut what if you remind them and they still forget?
tortillawow. i wish that dream was true! sounds delightful. well, actually the dream itself sounds a bit creepy, but the idea would be pretty neat. i love plants and fresh garden vegetables. I am currently raising a medium crop/batch of little chitlins. As they get a wee bit older, it is our desire to build up our garden each year. i am homeschooling, so i will be blessed with little child labor slaves who will tend to many important family necessities. this will be one!! ;) one of the best gifts someone could ever give me, though is a thriving plant or a home-grown anything...ahhhhh!!! ;)
tortillajust in case you wish to come visit and bring me a gift! ;)
tortillaI used to have this written at the top of my blog: "Where is your finely green, manicured lawn?" you ask? "Haven't you seen my beautiful garden of children I am raising!?"
