I didn't realize I hadn't posted anything for a while. Hope everyone is doing well. We are great! Looking forward to a new year.
We got the kids registered for a homeschool class. It will be a weather class this time. I think they will really like it.
Marin is finally back. We hadn't seen her for so long! Monday went really well. Not much screaming at all. She is walking a little bit...but I am sure she will be running very soon!
Meghan turned 5 on Christmas eve. I can't believe that she is 5 already. Troy is now 6 1/2. They are such a joy.
Guess that's all for now. Have to get ready for a meeting! Take care everyone. Love you all!!! Have a wonderful 2009!
1. I LOVE being a stay-at-home mom. We are so blessed that I am able to stay at home with Troy and Meg.
2. I am homeschooling Troy and Meg. It is great. I am so amazed at how fast they catch on to things. Theri minds are like giant sponges!
3. I teach Bible class on Sunday mornings. Currently I only have two students, 4th graders. They are awesome!
4. I really miss Texas and my family back there, but I also love Missouri and the friends we have made here. The congregation is awesome and we love it!
5. I like to watch shows like CSI, NCIS and Destination Truth. I watch the shows I record when I can't sleep at 4 am!
6. I cannot wait to travel somewhere. Since we are in the midwest, we are close to lots of things...kind of :) I'd like to go to Mount Rushmore in the fall, but it won't be this fall...
7. I can drive on ice and snow...thanks to my friends husband who gave be "snow" driving lessons this past January. My new mantra is "Snow is my friend"! (I still don't like driving on it though!)
8. I have the best family anyone could ask for! My husband Erik is super, my kids are just so sweet, and my parents are such an example to me.
I love your list. I too am ready to travel. I'd love to see some fall colors, especially in Colorado. The Gribbles are going there on Sunday. Wish I could go-maybe next year.
We had good Thanksgiving. It was so good to see all of you. I wish we could have spent more time with you all. Let us know when you get home. Love you!
I want to thank everyone for their prayers. Erik is doing much better. It will just take time.
Hope all is well with everyone. The kids are growing and growing! WE miss everyone down in Texas. It would be nice to be able to get home for a visit, but I'm afraid that won't be possible yet. Please take care! We love you all!
I'm glad to hear that Erik is better! Life can definitely throw "curve balls" at us when we least expect it. Aren't you glad that God NEVER changes? :)
I would like to ask for your prayers. Erik is going through some difficult times right now. The congregation is so supportive, and that is exactly what he needs, but I would like to ask all of my friends and family for their prayers on his/our behalf. Thank you so very much. I love you all! Mel
Your mom, Dolly, and I are going to the parade of homes tomorrow. Guess we'll drool at all the pretty sites. I don't your dad will appreciate it if she comes back with more ideas. What do you think?
We had the best time this week. Sunday night after services, we drove to the tippy-top of Missouri, about three miles from Iowa. We have some really good friends who live on a farm, and they had been wanting us to come up for a while. It was just a lot of fun. Erik and Troy got to feed the cows, we visited an Amish store, and just really enjoyed the scenery. We are excited about going back in a few months to stay a little longer. Des Moines is only and hour and a half from where they live, so we can drive up there, look around and come back home. I guess we are getting a little stir crazy! After the long winter - and major cabin fever, we are SO ready to just go go go...
Hope all is well with everyone...have a great weekend!
Actually, David & Ashley are paying for Keith and me to fly up the weekend of Sept. 5 to go to a Royals' game. :) It's grandparents' day, so I told David I'd be glad to see my "grand-dog." lol
Sounds like a fun place to go. Glad you had a good time. I'll try to remember to bring our pictures when we come. We went to the new Cabellas in Post Falls, ID while at David's and Mikaela had to have a photo session. She posed for pictures all through the store. It was fun!
I have ended up with two science books that are the same through ebay. I was going to try to sell one of them, but if you would like to have it your welcome to it. It is Usborne Science Activities vol 2. It has three sections: science with air, science in the kitchen, and science with plants. Let me know if you want it.
