well like most today I am thinking of all the things I am thankful for. My life is truly blessed, and hopefully most of us take more than this one day to reflect on all the things we blessed with in our lives and we give thanks to God for them. I know that I do not do this often enough. I know I take for granted a lot of times all the wonderful things in my life and even complain when they may inconvenience me in some small way. My goal is to be better about this, to thank God daily for the bountiful blessings He has given me, and to complain much less than I do about them.
We missed thanksgiving last year, but this year we are making up for it by getting to celebrate twice!!! YAY, I love thanksgiving food!!! Let's face it, I just love food, but I digress because I was going to list the things I am thankful for.
1. That I have a loving and forgiving God that no matter how bad I mess up with willing to forgive and let me come back. Also for his infinite, immeasurable grace that He offers each of us. One verse I love from Ephesians is 16 I pray that from his glorious, unlimited resources he will empower you with inner strength through his Spirit. 17 Then Christ will make his home in your hearts as you trust in him. Your roots will grow down into God’s love and keep you strong. 18 And may you have the power to understand, as all God’s people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love is. 19 May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God.
20 Now all glory to God, who is able, through his mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think. 21 Glory to him in the church and in Christ Jesus through all generations forever and ever! Amen. How amazing!!!
2. I have a wonderful, loving, supporting husband who care so much for me and is such a wonderful father to our little girl.
3. I have a beautiful, healthy, wonderful little girl that was an answer to so many prayers.
4. We are all healthy!!
5. We have an awesome family that is so loving and supportive of all that we do, and even though we are so far away are always close on our hearts.
6. We have a wonderful church family that loves all of us so much and has been such an encouragement to Eddie and I (they are a true spiritual family.)
7. We live in a place that allows us to worship freely.
8. We have a roof over our heads and food in our cupboards, that is more than so many people can say.
My life is filled with so many others. What are the things you are most thankful for?
How wonderful to see you three last night. I am thankful for that! We all agreed it was just the right kind of Thanksgiving -- good food, the women whipping the men at Taboo, and visiting with you.
That our God is good, always. He makes plans for us that are good and perfect, even if we don't understand His reasoning, we can be assured that His plan is better than what we can think or do. He never changes and He is in control.
For anyone interested I've started a new blog for Matilda. I'm going to try and keep it updated with news of her and pictures and everything so that I don't bore all of you on here with constant news of her, not that I won't update on here with pics and news of her, I will, but this is a full focus on her. So if you would like to keep updated with all that check it out.
Yeah for the Auburn pic below! So glad it fits! :)
I can't say enough how awesome it is to see these pictures of your daughter. I'm so excited for ya'll. Congratulations over and over again!
Okay, so Anna pointed out to me yesterday that the time has changed for our benefit now! I totally forgot about that! So, it's not nearly as hard to be awake at the same time anymore. YAY! And, Sam and Clay were bragging yesterday about how they have seen Mattie and I was VERY jealous! So... now I will hopefully get to talk to you more often. Well, if you have any time! I'm sure you're so busy right now! There is so much I want to hear about from you and so much I need to tell you! I love you and can't WAIT to talk to you!! LOVE YOU!!!
Well our little girl is almost 4 weeks old now. I can't believe it. It seems like she changes and grows every single day. I am feeling a lot better and getting a bit more sleep, though not my old 8+ hours a night, who knows when that will come again. My parents left on Tuesday, and we'll just say that that was a bit emotional (to say the least) but we have been adapting to doing it all on our own and getting into our schedule. We are very blessed because Matilda is a really good baby. Our next big goal is to get her sleeping in her own bed. Her big growth of the week is she is now really moving her head around looking all around, and really pushing with her feet. She is absolutely adorable and we are having so much fun getting to know her and all her little quirks.
A few pics.
This is the families first Sunday at church photo.
Here are a few pics from the day my parents left.
Just a few pics of our little girl.
Already supporting her team even through the bad years :)
Well at least you aren't crying in the pictures with your parents! I cried so bad when my mom went home and it was only 10 minutes away! You guys are great and are doing a great job!
Maybe I shouldn't share this with you. However you need to know Melaine. You will never sleep 8+ hrs again! Sorry! It's a harsh reality that you'll just have to learn to live with. :0
she is just precious. treasure every minute because it just flys by. jared is already teaching logan "war eagle" and touchdown...although this year we don't see many of those. =)
I Love the way Matilda is looking at Eddie when he is holding her and asking with her expression, "Dad, you are looking just a tad wild today!" And she is right - sorry about that. But naps are a wonderful thing too.
How is it possible that she is that old already? :) Just think , it the blink of an eye you'll have a teenager! You are a lovely family - happy parenting!
Hey! After reading your blog, I'm thinking it might be good for me to run some of my questions by you. You know, since you are sort of right in the middle of it all. :) It might help to have some perspective from someone who isn't so far removed from those first few weeks. :) Let me know the best way to get in touch with you with things like that!
As most of you have seen on his site, our sweet little girl is here. It was the hardest thing I have ever done, but worth every second. She is absolutely perfect. We are home and doing well. I'll update with more of the details later, we still have to call some family and show her off. :)
The first family photo:
me and my sweet little girl trying to get a little rest after a really long day:
Oh Melaine! She is beatiful and you look so amazing! You don't look like it was hard at all! (That's a compliment!) Can't wait to hear more but enjoy these days!
She is beautiful Melaine! So thankful everything went well. I remember coming out of labor/delivery having such a new found respect for our God and for his design!
I love the pictures on Eddie's page. Melaine, she is just beautiful. Her hair is precious and her skin is georgous! To me she looks like you...what does your Mom say? Hope you're doing well.
we tried talking to you three times over the past three days, but you never replied back...so, we really did try! Call us the next time you see us online!
I'm glad our gesture is welcome! Please do send pix -- would love to see the flowers and our sweetie. We are thinking of you all very, very much in your "wonderful and awful" time -- I've told you that story, right?
Yeah...My sweet little niece is making her entrance into this world.....(: I know she will be so beautiful. Sorry we missed your call.....we are praying everything is going well....love you all!
