Here are the kids from Halloween. This year I wanted them all to coordinate so they were all characters from the Wizard of Oz. I made Madison and my niece Elizabeth's Dorothy outfits. I put Micah's scarecrow outfit together after paying $30 for overalls and realizing that the scarecrow in the movie did not wear overalls. I should have done my research earlier. I am not as pleased with my Tin Man because I had trouble finding the kind of silver face paint that I wanted, but he was still cute paint or not.
It was good to see you "briefly" at the meeting! Did ya'll find anything at the craft show? I never did see you there! We mostly looked but it was a nice "get away."
You should have yelled at me. But then again I might not have heard you. There were a lot of people and a lot of cute ideas for kid clothes. I am like you about not wanting to pay the price for. I bet you got a lot of good ideas though.
It is a sad day in America when Andy, Opie, and the Fonz decide to vote for Barack Obama. I am so sad and don't know if I can ever watch Andy Griffith again.
Well, Mike's dad let us borrow his tractor so we can have a garden for next year. Here are some pictures of the kids with Mike on them. Our youngest Mark LOVES the tractor.
Our new dog Maverick he is a Schnoodle he is part Schnauzer and part poodle. They call them designer dogs. Ok sure. He is solid black with a very tiny mark of white on his neck.
You all have been busy, especially planning for the co-op as well! I heard it went very well. My sister said Nathan learned a lot. I wanted the kids to go but we have all our "extra" stuff going on on Thursdays. I love Maverick! I have been thinking an inside dog might possibly satisfy my desire for a 4th child-what do you think???
Okay, so I need your help. We are thinking about getting a dog for the house. (Sorry Nette) Problem is I can't decide what kind of dog I want. I know I want a small dog. I want one that doesn't have too much of a dog smell. I really do not want someone to walk into my house and say oh it smells like a dog lives here. So, here are the breeds we have looked at and are discussing at this time.
Miniature Dachshund
Miniature Schnauzer
Bichon Frise
Yorkie Poo
Boston Terrier (Mike likes this breed and I think it is the ugliest dog ever!)
So, give me your opinion. What other child friendly, minimal shedding dogs do you recommend?
Come on I know you all have an opinion, some of you are dog owners.
Donnie is preaching at Hollands Gin 7:00 nightly through Wed nite, that's just north of Athens, not too terribly far for ya'll. We would love to see ya'll if you can make it, sorry I didn't give you more notice, I just didn't think of it.
Our dog was a bigger miniature schnauzer but he was an exception as far as weight. Most are under 14 pounds. I fought for years about not having a dog in the house but after everyone promised they would help, I caved. Then I ended up taking care of him most of the time, but he was a good dog. Some are lap dogs and some are not. He wasn't really a lap dog but was just like a child that needed your attention. He was very perceptive to your feelings even when you thought no one else knew, he always knew and would come and look at your with sad eyes and help make you feel better. W
Yes, we're getting a Bichon. When we were kids, my family did alot of research and that breed turned out to fit our needs best. They don't shed, people who have dog allergies typically aren't allergic to them, and they are definite "people-dogs". Snuggles would just want to be in your lap all of the time. It's a good breed for a family.
I don't remeber it being that hard...we did start out using the "puppy pads" for a while, but that was short-lived after she learned to go outside. My mom would probably remember more about this. Give us a few weeks and we can give you more info!
haha I was reading the comment thinking who in the world is this?! And then I saw you said this is Dawn. haha! She is doing ok right now, but saterday we thouht we were going to have to take her to the emergency room, because her breathing got bad. But we gave her breathing treatment and she got better. So every thing is going smoothly at the momment! lol
Dawn, your family is so beautiful! Also, I need to learn to decorate cakes like you! (might need to learn to bake them first - my kids know it is time for dinner when the fire alarm goes off) Welcome! :-)
