Things here are going well! I have been on Christmas break for a little over a week now, and I feel so much better! I've had time to relax, goof off, and make a little extra cash. I've been working at Wal-Mart during the break. I'm not a cashier anymore; they switched me to the Electronics section. I enjoy working back there, because it is a change of pace. I never knew there were so many different types of Guitar Hero, televisions, nor iPod chargers!! lol. I've never been much of a technological person, but learning all this stuff is quite interesting. I enjoy talking to the customers and being the special person with the keys to unlock video games from the case. haha.
Tonight, my family and I will throw our fourth annual "Christmas in Florida" party. This party entails a scavenger hunt, flamingo-shaped cookies, and a barbeque. Of course, we will have Florida Christmas decor, such as palm trees with ornaments, alligators w/Santa hats, etc.
What are some of your unique Christmas (or winter) traditions?
Yeah, I think we all miss him EXCEPT for Chris and Taylor.. Not too sure that they liked him, maybe it was his sharp teeth and the way he would jump at you and bite!!! He was a cutie and his lickies were sweet!
Hey - Yes, I do know where Scott and Shawn are. They live in Cincinatti where he is finishing up his PhD work in Voice. He should be done soon. They sound like they are doing very well. I think he preaches part time for a congregation in that area.
Electronics is a pretty cool place to work, Sarah's husband Saun used to work in the electronics department and got transferred to the Connections center (and sometimes helps with electronics)(it's the walmart on Bruce B Downs). I'm glad you had a good Christmas!
Hey Sabrina~ I have been doing ok. We have been doing a lot to fix some stuff in our house this week so I have had a very busy break. I almost feel like I haven't even had a break yet. I hope you are doing well!
Christmas break is almost here! Just 3 more days of finals and I will be FREE!!!!! Free to work at Wal-Mart, that is :-P. Actually, working at Wal-Mart during the holidays is fun; customers are in a better mood, and we stay busy all the time! I hate slow days at work, because the day goes by so slowly. Also, during Christmas break I will be doing fun things with family and friends such as parties and a possible boat ride.
Wow! Only 3 more days. I'm sure with finals the 3 days wont be easy. Still this semester is just about to end. Yay!
We are having a much colder winter than normal. Yesterday and today are more in the normal range, but the temps have been blow normal and will go back to below normal tomorrow or the next day. Burrrrrrrrrrrrrr!
Enjoy your break! Looks like you have some good fun coming up.
Can you babysit? Hi, if this is who I think it is.....Just kidding around. Baby it's cold outside in AL. Snow possible tonight or tomorrow. Let it snow let it snow let it snow. It is so good to feel like Xmas instead of a tropical paradise. It gets me more in the mood to shop! Sheila
No snow yet. Possibly by morning just in time to make the roads bad for everyone going to work. Although if the snow comes it is not supposed to last long. And by Friday we are to have temps back up in the 50's. Yay!
Oh the weather outside is frightful. Please do not misunderstand, WE HAVE NOT SOLD THE HOUSE. right now it is going to rent. we HOPE it will sell before it rents, but that is uncertain. great to hear from you. how's mom and dad?
Your telling me! lol Well we are in the beginning of our second trimester. Yeah, weird I know. We have trimesters instead of the normal semsters. I think that they did that because after winter break, kids from the public schools that flunked out would try to go there. So they made it so that the kid would just have to be there or just wait until the new trimester started. I think in a way it was like a punishment for the kid or something. I dunno. That's just what impression I got. I think that she did tell us why though but I forgot...lol
For Thanksgiving, my grandparents are coming over to my house for lunch. Then, the Cooks are going to come over for our traditional Thanksgiving bonfire. What are your plans?
Friday afternoon/evening was busy in a fun way! Right after classes I went down to Brandon to look for a dress for the "Unbanquet." Luckily, I went into Ross and found the perfect dress in no time! It was a very fancy dress... it was purple with a black see-through material draped over it. It was originally $60, but it had been marked down to $20!
After Ross, I hurried to the FC basketball game to work at the concession stand for scholarship service hours. This is always a fun way to get some service hours in. I also saw some people I
hadn't seen in a long time :).
Then, right after the Bball game, I went to Ole' Sutton Cafeteria to play games with friends. We played Apples to Apples and Mafia. I had never played Mafia before, but I really like it!
Saturday night was the "Unbanquet." Unbanquet is a new tradition started this year in place of the Fall banquet. Unbanquet is more casual dress (church clothes) and it's in the gym. Everyone was so much more laid-back than at the real banquet. I like the unbanquet so much better than the real banquet! We had a photo booth, a concert, and sweets galore!
Sunday for lunch (after church) I went with my mom, Alex, and Jessiqua to Westshore Pizza. Mmmm... Mmmmm!!! It was fun catching up with them.
Sunday night I went back to church, and afterward I went with Aprile, Jessiqua, Nancy, and Mrs. Whidden to the new Wiregrass Mall. We ate dinner at the Barnes and Noble Cafe. Afterward, we wanted to look at the shops, but they were all closed! It was still a really fun walk! The shops look so cute and charming.
Today (Wednesday) is Jessiqua and Aprile's birthdays!! Happy Birthday!!!!
I got my FC Fall Banquet dress at Ross for $25, originally over $80, Ross has some good stuff for some good prices, you just have to look through it sometimes.....The Unbanquet sounds awesome! Was it the same day as the real Banquet?
