It was really cool. I know, poor Beanie!! :( My friend from school is cousins with Beanie, so I'm gonna talk to him and see how he's doing. I can't believe he's out for the whole season though....grrr.....
Hi!
Had a FAN-tastic time on my camping trip. My pictures are at http://picasaweb.google.com/MissWhitacre/LaborDayWeekendTrip if you're interested in seeing Southern WV.
Hi all! Been a while since I posted. Congrats to Amber on her new job! I may have a sub job for th eyear at Williamstown High School. The job posting ended yesterday, and I haven't heard if anyone qualified applied. I'm teaching Alg 2, 8th science, and 9th science this semester. I'm really glad I have a steady job, but a part of me was hoping that they would find someone by Friday. Some friends are leaving Friday morning and going hiking in southern WV. SinceI'm teaching, another friend and I will leave Friday afternoon and meet them to camp over night then hike Saturday. Hopefully we'll get to see a bunch of waterfalls and New River Gorge (which I have never made it to.) Okay kids are walkinig in, gotta go.
Ten...that's not a lot.
My blogs always involve the hiking group and thei one is no exception. We (Court, Tobey, Dan, and I) left Friday afternoon to go camping at Wolf Creek. We set up camp, went swimming for awhile, came back to camp, cut firewood, roasted weiners...I started the "teepee" approach to starting the fire which didn't work out too well, Dan took over and used the "log-cabin" which worked great...Then we played catchphrase and Apples to Apples until almost 4 in the morning. We were up and about around 8am and ready to hiek at 9 with the rest of the hiking club. We hiked, relit the fire, "teepee" this time and had lunch, then packed up camp and headed home. We stopped at the Big Muskie Bucket on the way home. It's big...I'd never seen it before. And we stopped at the site of the Big Bottom Massacre, that was interesting. And no, it was not the place Sweatin to The Oldies was filmed. It was another fantastic time with great positive people.
Jessica left for Columbus today to get the plates out of her elbow...hopefully everything wil go well...keep her in your thoughts.
And....We have a gospel meeting this week with Eric Kreig. Each evening will be alesson about a hymn and the Scripture that backs it up, and what we should be thinking about while singing them. There are classes for kids up to 8 yrs old. Hope you all can come.
Do I know the Buckleys?!?!?! They are my neighbors. Marcia's pic is on my blog, somewhere. I used to babysit Marcia and Wesley :) Wesley is an awesome guy!!! I don't know who you are though!? We enjoyed the lesson Tuesday :)
Which of his aunt's taught at South? :) If you are lookin to date someone, you could not get a better guy than Wesley ;) (I am not known for subtlety, just ask Sarah Currence ;) haha)
Ahhh ok :) Julia's a sweetie, ornery, but sweet ;) His whole family has lived up here as long as my whole family has. Julia is pretty good friends with my Aunt Linda :)
yeah, I keep numbering them...no promises on how long that will go on.
Monday (Memorial Day) I went with a group of people (Court, Daniel, Wandy, Tobey, and another girl) hiking ALL day. We met about 8am then headed toward Hocking Hills. We made a brief stop in Lancaster to see if the Rocky Boots Outlet store was open, it wasn't. I really want new hiking boots, but I can'r seem to find any. If anyone has suggestions that'd be great. (I wear a size 11 in women's, which is the main problem.)
Ok, back to hiking. We went to Cantwell Cliffs first. There were supposed to be 760 steps around the cliffs, they were close, Daniel and i counted to make sure. Then we went to Conkles Hallow (or Canyon?). More walking and goofing off. Sometime in the afternoon, I didn't look at a watch or cellphone most of the day so I had no idea what time we did stuff, we had buffet lunch in the park. Then we hit Old Man's Cave and Ash Cave. I took 515 pictures, and I have kept most of them. Everything was so beautiful and the weather was perfect. It was wonderful to get to spend the day with such fun, happy people. I'll try to figure out the picture posting. I have soem nice wildflower ones and soem goofy ones.
Hope everyone has a good weekend. I have 4 days of school left with students!
haha..now your sounding like me with pictures although I don't think I've taken quite that many in the same day:-D I went to Hocking once and did some hiking around..there wasn't much water that summer but it was pretty
