Okay, I am really bad at guessing movie quotes!!! 10-15-08 09:11pm EST
The wheels in my brain were not turning at all on any of those except his because he has said that one to me many times. (Not that "I" am dumber than a bag of hammers, mind you!)

So I will no longer be soliciting movie quotes. Let's throw in song lyrics as well. I am sure I will flunk that too.

On another note, if you refer to my list of facts about myself, you will understand why my brain is especially slow at the moment. I JUST WROTE A COLLEGE RECOMMENDATION!!!!! It was painful! But I saved it. If another kid wants to go to Indiana University and he was in my SAT Prep class, I am all set with a college recommendation letter!!!!!!
hotlantamomWhat did you find out about tickets to the game? I missed you last night.
kristahThat's ok, I can't do math.
And the only quotes I knew were mine.
And I had to look them up on google to make sure I typed them correctly.
So you're ok with me!
Congrats on finishing the recommendation! :)
gamommaHappy Birthday!!! Hope it's a good one!
kristahHappy Birthday to you! Hope you had a wonderful day today!
hotlantamom^I got the same message on my blog and deleted it. I'm home all week, so feel free to bring the reading over whenever! Finally feeling a little better. It was a rough week, though.
hotlantamomOh, Jeannie, please don't go to any trouble!!!
kristahI know!! Fundraisers, ugh! We have had no less than 7 or 8 fundraisers so far this year. Thanks for not feeling obligated to buy anything!
Are you looking forward to a little break from school in a couple of weeks? :)
sarahsmileIt's in Douglasville, so not really out of town. No hotel room, so that's a plus! It's friends I met through my neighbor.
kristahWhen will yall be here for Thanksgiving?
hotlantamomI think her birthday was yesterday, according to patrick.
hotlantamomGot your e-mail about MK. I may not order until the 1st of Dec. I'll let you know for sure. I'm kind of phasing out of it, so this may be my last.
hotlantamomPatrick thought he gave David the keys, but I found a set that I'm not sure what they are. I'll bring them tomorrow. Check the luggage carrier itself to make sure they are not in keyhole.
kristahI know, I don't know where the time goes!! We'll be looking forward to hearing from Benjamin. We understand about not having computer time. That's one of the first things to go at my house when there's a problem! :)
kristahI'm sorry we didn't make it! David just didn't feel well. I didn't think we needed to come get everyone sick. I'm glad y'all had a good time! Benjamin fell in the pool??! Aunt Gayle really put a lot of work into the books this year!

One of the greatest movies ever.... 10-10-08 08:41pm EST
is "The Princess Bride". Our family loves it! David and Benjamin are the best at quoting movies. One of our favorite lines is "Mawage...., Mawage is the bwess-ed event that bwings us togever...."

Any other favorite classic movie lines you want to share????
kristah"Laugther through tears is my favorite emotion." and "Looks like two pigs fightin' under a blanket!"
Can you guess what movie?
kristahWe LOVE The Princess Bride! I've enjoyed watching it with my kids and seeing them "get" the hilarious lines. My favorite character in the movie is Max!
hotlantamomHey!! I'm in Florida for BOA competition!!
kristahOh! Forgot to answer your question! I think we will be here again this year. We aren't planning to go out of town, so we will see you then!
thehandoftheking"Roads? Where we're going, we don't need roads."

"Pete, it's a fool that looks for logic in the chambers of the human heart."

I could go on all day. I like kristah's movie quote. That is cool.
gamommaI love Steel Magnolias! That is one of my favorite lines ever!
thewanderer"You stole from my kin!" "Who was fixin' to betray us!" "You didn't know that at the time!" "So I borrowed it 'til I did know." "That don't make no sense!" And cue his second quote.
hotlantamomI need space back in the garage. We're trying to clean it out to put John's car in it. We're beginning to look like Sanford and Son at our house! I need to bring back your car top carrier. When is a good time? (preferably this week)
dbalentine"Baptism. You two are just dumber than a bag of hammers."
bikeaholicjust saw what you wrote about your dream. (sorry, been gone for a while) pretty funny actually. if it happens again just go around the back of the building to the parking deck. there's a bike rack on the first level.
bikeaholicbtw... hope you have some lights riding at that time of day
praguer"They seek him here, they seek him there, those Frenchies seek him everywhere . . . " Any clue what movie?
brainy_chik81"anybody wanna peanut?" LOL!

Hi! I'm back!! 09-30-08 02:53pm EST
I have been having computer problems lately, so I have been doing only the necessities on it and not reading Pleo. It was soooooo slow, like having dial-up again!! I think the slowness started when I downloaded a huge thing-y from the Weather Channel so I could check the weather everywhere instantly. I have had plenty of time to ponder 8 interesting/weird facts about myself since she tagged me. I hope I can remember them all. Here goes:

1. I have every episode of Gilligan's Island memorized. It was a childhood favorite of mine.

2. I am CRAZY about tornadoes. Benjamin and I were just watching a show about them a few minutes ago and I was mesmerized.

3. I must sleep with a small pillow over my eyes. I have had a little pillow since I was a baby when my grandmother made one for me. David made fun of me when he first found out about the pillow thing, but I made him one, so now he understands.

4. I love dark chocolate. The darker, the better.

5. I am a terrible writer. When students ask me to write a college recommendation, I agonize over the words to use. I actually have a decent one that I wrote a few years ago saved on my computer. If the student is pretty average, I just change the name in the one I have saved.

6. I saw Boy George in concert when I was in high school. I thought his makeup looked pretty cool.

7. I fell asleep during a big exam when I was in college at FC. Apparently, the nap helped me out, because my picture was in the FC Bulletin shortly after saying that I had scored perfectly on three of the four sections.

8. David proposed to me from on stage after a barbershop contest in front of a couple thousand people. I ran to the front of the auditorium like I was on "The Price is Right".

I need to check and see who has been tagged before I tag anyone else. Have a great week!
dixiechickI love tornadoes, too! I've always been facinated by them. I remember always having a hard time understanding hurricanes because you can't actually see the storm; but with tornadoes, you can see the funnel cloud.
tandielqI find myself doing that more and more too! Then you probably would cry a river if you read the book Let Me Hold You Longer by Karen Kingsbury. If you haven't read it, you should (and have tissue on hand)!
brainy_chik81haha, i love #8!! lol :)
dbalentineAnd it was only about 1000 insted of 2000. In a few years the story might read that I proposed to her in front of 90,000 fans at a blacked out Georgia football game they lost to Alabama . . . .oh wait . . .nevermind. Different thread. Same result. RTR!
mjcbLeave it to him to turn a sappy moment into a "Roll Tide" moment. That's a college football fan for ya!
firestahI am a huge fan of Dark Chocolate also. And the Boy George deal cracks me up.
thewandererDark chocolate = happiness.
thehandofthekingThere exist toradoe-hunting vacations. Ha ha, number eight is cool to know.
hotlantamomLittle did you know that David's proposal was a prediction of your life with him--nonstop barbershop foolishness!
hotlantamom^(sorry, I couldn't resist)
sarahsmileI'm glad you accomplished the tag! good sport. I hope the words didn't agonize you too much!
thehandofthekingWell then I would have to add eating.
praguerSuch a great list! I'm with you on #4 and 5. I used to have to write reports on my development projects, and it was torture! "Can't I just hand you my notes, with a small concluding paragraph?!" That's all they wanted to know anyway - what's the result?
kristahHi, Jeannie, it's Krista. I loved reading your list! I had no idea you were such an avid Gilligan's Island fan...
kristahThanks for being my friend! :)
kristahNice visual image Jeannie, thanks!!! :) David says hi...(my David of course)...Sorry yall are sick

One day down.... 08-11-08 07:12pm EST
179 to go. I think I can make it! Today was the first day of school in Cobb County. Benjamin still has another week off (Paulding County) and Emily still has two more weeks until her preschool starts. Maybe we will all be in the swing of things by September! I have two classes - one is SAT Prep and the other is Trigonometry. I have several students that I already know, so I feel much more comfortable in both classes. Being part-time is great, because I can leave at noon! I am glad I have the opportunity!

tandielqThat is a great opportunity! Best wishes for a great year. I should be starting my tutoring up soon. Today was the first day for Forsyth...give it a couple of weeks and I should be getting parent phone calls!
thehandofthekingAye, probably too much to be true. I tutored last Tuesday for AP physics. It was fun.
sarahsmileoh that's cool that you're done by noon!
ajhkygirlShe is doing very well I think. We do not start school til the 25th so we have a few more days of summer.
dixiechickActually, it was a pretty good rendition. Of course, it's no Timon and Pumba, but it wasn't bad.
ajhkygirlHey! this is the flip flop queen (by the way if you think I was bad Amanda has about 10 pairs and is telling me she needs more, I even let her have church flip-flops which makes me a much cooler mom than my mom was) I am working full time at Myles school this year in the resource lab. I am excited and so is Myles! Call me sometime!
brainy_chik81SURE!! id love to :)
praguerThere is an entire class on SAT prep?! That gives new meaning to the idea of "teaching the test!"
dbalentineDefine MANY? I hope you can't. Let's just make the most of all the ones we have!
ajhkygirlI finished it today!!
ajhkygirlYou know how those awful math teachers are always giving us so much homework.Even on the first week of school.
horseloverHI!
jandthBeen in Canada for a few days, so I just got your message. Apart from being a devoted husband and father, I work for a defense contractor in Huntsville (that she can tell you about), teach a class at our little congregation, and try to keep my ears clean shaven. I am a groupie for the grunge rock band Twisted Chicken, and am known for my accompanying them to every date on their recent "Perpetually Angry" tour. My turn-ons are walks on the beach at sunset, puppies, and butter pecan ice cream and my turn-offs are loud-talkers and dirty ash trays.
dbalentine21 down and 159 to go sounds a lot better.
brainy_chik81not neccessarily (sp?)
sarahsmileTag. You're it.

Time for an update! 08-02-08 08:13pm EST
If you have read his blog, you know some of what we have been doing lately. Last week, we spent an amazing three days at Disney World! We are definitely huge Disney fans. Three days were plenty for us, though. We were all dragging by the end of it all. The kids and I stayed a few more days with my mom and dad in Florida. Some of you know that my mother has had health issues for many years. Her lungs are constantly infected and causing her to cough pretty much all the time. Her newest doctor has realized that oral antibiotics no longer work and has prescribed one month of IV's of the strongest antibiotic she can take. My dad (bless his heart) is the one who must hook her up to it each night. He is NOT in his comfort zone! But I think they are getting the hang of it and Mom does seem to be improving. Usually her coughing wakes me up at 5:50 each morning at their house, but thankfully, the last few days I was there, I didn't hear any coughing! Please pray for Mom's continued improvement and for Dad's patience acting as her nurse!

So here are some pictures of my favorite moments from Disney:
Photobucket
Beware! Over-confident 8-year-old at the wheel!

Photobucket
I think David was auditioning for a new job!

Photobucket
Emily says, "I think there was just a person inside June's costume. I saw the zipper!"

Photobucket
Pluto licked their autograph books!

Oh, I almost forgot to mention the best surprise at Hollywood Studios! While in line at the first attraction that morning, we received Fast Passes for the day for all the big attractions! It was part of Disney's "Year of a Million Dreams" and they randomly award these passes. It was such a neat surprise! But I couldn't convince Emily to ride the Aerosmith Roller Coaster. I wonder why.....
dbalentineBeware! Over-confident 44-year-old acting like an 8-year-old as a passenger!
dbalentineNo, I don't look good in stripes.
brainy_chik81benjamin looks so tall in the pic w/ pluto!!
hotlantamomWhat is it about barbershoppers? They just start singing anywhere with anyone!!!
hotlantamomI'm glad you're home and glad you had fun. Disney is a great vacation for any age of kids!
dixiechickI love Disney World!
absAww! Great pictures!
praguerGlad y'all had a good time. It's a fun Disney age for your kids. . . . and for your hubby. :)
gamommaThey went to the Keyes! They had a great time there. I don't know if I could make it there or not. Lots of bridges - I don't do bridges!
ajhkygirlYes we are back in texas. I start school the 25th of August. I like the pictures by the way!!
dbalentineHow was your first day?
firestahDon't be offended. I just thought two was too many balentines on the web.(HaHa)
