The wheels in my brain were not turning at all on any of those except his because he has said that one to me many times. (Not that "I" am dumber than a bag of hammers, mind you!)
So I will no longer be soliciting movie quotes. Let's throw in song lyrics as well. I am sure I will flunk that too.
On another note, if you refer to my list of facts about myself, you will understand why my brain is especially slow at the moment. I JUST WROTE A COLLEGE RECOMMENDATION!!!!! It was painful! But I saved it. If another kid wants to go to Indiana University and he was in my SAT Prep class, I am all set with a college recommendation letter!!!!!! |

Any other favorite classic movie lines you want to share???? |

I have been having computer problems lately, so I have been doing only the necessities on it and not reading Pleo. It was soooooo slow, like having dial-up again!! I think the slowness started when I downloaded a huge thing-y from the Weather Channel so I could check the weather everywhere instantly. I have had plenty of time to ponder 8 interesting/weird facts about myself since she tagged me. I hope I can remember them all. Here goes:
1. I have every episode of Gilligan's Island memorized. It was a childhood favorite of mine.
2. I am CRAZY about tornadoes. Benjamin and I were just watching a show about them a few minutes ago and I was mesmerized.
3. I must sleep with a small pillow over my eyes. I have had a little pillow since I was a baby when my grandmother made one for me. David made fun of me when he first found out about the pillow thing, but I made him one, so now he understands.
4. I love dark chocolate. The darker, the better.
5. I am a terrible writer. When students ask me to write a college recommendation, I agonize over the words to use. I actually have a decent one that I wrote a few years ago saved on my computer. If the student is pretty average, I just change the name in the one I have saved.
6. I saw Boy George in concert when I was in high school. I thought his makeup looked pretty cool.
7. I fell asleep during a big exam when I was in college at FC. Apparently, the nap helped me out, because my picture was in the FC Bulletin shortly after saying that I had scored perfectly on three of the four sections.
8. David proposed to me from on stage after a barbershop contest in front of a couple thousand people. I ran to the front of the auditorium like I was on "The Price is Right".
I need to check and see who has been tagged before I tag anyone else. Have a great week! |

179 to go. I think I can make it! Today was the first day of school in Cobb County. Benjamin still has another week off (Paulding County) and Emily still has two more weeks until her preschool starts. Maybe we will all be in the swing of things by September! I have two classes - one is SAT Prep and the other is Trigonometry. I have several students that I already know, so I feel much more comfortable in both classes. Being part-time is great, because I can leave at noon! I am glad I have the opportunity!

If you have read his blog, you know some of what we have been doing lately. Last week, we spent an amazing three days at Disney World! We are definitely huge Disney fans. Three days were plenty for us, though. We were all dragging by the end of it all. The kids and I stayed a few more days with my mom and dad in Florida. Some of you know that my mother has had health issues for many years. Her lungs are constantly infected and causing her to cough pretty much all the time. Her newest doctor has realized that oral antibiotics no longer work and has prescribed one month of IV's of the strongest antibiotic she can take. My dad (bless his heart) is the one who must hook her up to it each night. He is NOT in his comfort zone! But I think they are getting the hang of it and Mom does seem to be improving. Usually her coughing wakes me up at 5:50 each morning at their house, but thankfully, the last few days I was there, I didn't hear any coughing! Please pray for Mom's continued improvement and for Dad's patience acting as her nurse!
So here are some pictures of my favorite moments from Disney:
Beware! Over-confident 8-year-old at the wheel!
I think David was auditioning for a new job!
Emily says, "I think there was just a person inside June's costume. I saw the zipper!"
Pluto licked their autograph books!
Oh, I almost forgot to mention the best surprise at Hollywood Studios! While in line at the first attraction that morning, we received Fast Passes for the day for all the big attractions! It was part of Disney's "Year of a Million Dreams" and they randomly award these passes. It was such a neat surprise! But I couldn't convince Emily to ride the Aerosmith Roller Coaster. I wonder why..... |
