I need a new post. 10-03-08 09:02pm EST
what should I say. I dunno. Ok I give up.
(apathy)
sarahtidwellSounds like me. I need a new post but don't know what to post.
scrappinbethieI have tons to say. You can post for me. We are all doing a happy dance that the kids are back at home for a while. Babysitting is not too bad but 24/7 is tiring. I am too old for that.
sweetpeasI have a new post. :)
susieI'm with you! I've had too much stress to have anything good to post about.
lilyofthevalleyYou don't think your life is all that boring until it's time to post. I always struggle with finding stuff to put on here.
scrappinbethiehttp://www.atlhomeshow.com Have not found a craft fair but there is the home show.

culture: absorbed. 09-27-08 10:23pm EST
we took advantage of the Free Museum Day sponsored by the Smithsonian to go have brunch at Tap and see the sights at the High Museum.

If local folks haven't been lately, you would do well to go and see HistoryRemixed, a photographic chronicle of the civil rights movement in the south, before it closes Oct 5. It brought tears to my eyes. There're just no words.

Link to exhibition page

The picture above shows a courageous young lady who was one of the first to integrate the schools in Little Rock, AR.
lilyofthevalleyI was wondering which museum you went to. It sounds good! Have you been to the Holocaust Museum? It leaves you feeling the same way.
susieI wish we had time to go check that out before it is gone.
sarahtidwellSounds interesting!
scrappinbethieWhat do you have that organizes your mixes? I have a little box. I have a lot of packets of stuff like cookie and muffin mixes that Lindsey makes. I saw this bin cart at Sams but it is huge. But I like the bin idea.
scrappinbethie OH I have that. It does not work well for tall or heavy things like the muffin mixes. I saw a cool ikea mesh basket. Thanks for the tips.
nativetexanI would be delighted to treat you to dinner at the Redneck. Let's plan a time for ya'll to head over this way and we'll grab a bite.
sarahsmileI would be cool to meet for museum day in ATL sometime
sararhotonDo you have any updates on Jessica Wise's new baby? I know you live near her (you lucky lady!) and I'm dying to get some details! :)

My favorite?

It a Gril
angelaHee-hee!! Those were hilarious.
praguerI feel better with my pitiful attempts at cake decorating!
grgapchI love that blog. I just pray that none of my cakes end up on there!
lilyofthevalleyNo, he didn't. Other people that were taking their test before me didn't fare so well with her, though. She talked to me the whole time I was taking my test. Which I thought was weird.

I have to have my stomach rubbed, preferably if my sister can do it for me (which she never does) I fall asleep faster.
cdillman23Funny!
sarahtidwellVery interesting pictures!
lilyofthevalleyHey, Kathryn said she would babysit for you on Saturday. I can bring her to your house and pick her up if you need me too.
sweetpeascrossing my legs until Thai is consumed! ;) I hope you and Michael have fun on Sat.. Enjoy a little culture. :)
didowThose were great and I agree with her/him
ashuleeCheers! *Clinking imaginary coffee cups with you, as we both settle into a good Dick Francis novel*

I've been tagged. 09-19-08 08:16am EST
By her. So, here are 8 random facts/habits about me. After which I have to choose 8 others to tag, and to let them know by commenting on their blog. So, there it is. If I tag you, those are the rules. And now, fascinating facts about moi:

1) I cannot open my jaw all the way. I now have to wear a jaw adjusting thingee that looks like a retainer because I have a jaw joint that is damaged. How it was damaged, who knows. Hopefully my doc can fix it. So if you are watching me try in vain to get a hamburger in my mouth, that is why.

2) I'm obsessed with craft blogs. I cannot stop myself trolling endlessly through them. I keep telling myself to get off the blogs and actually craft something myself.

3) I'm an excellent test taker. I used to look forward to exams. Isn't that sick?

4) If my life depended on it, or you offered me a million dollars, I'd still never be able to:
A) do a cartwheel
B) open a package correctly
C) parallel park

5) I love the way a person smells after coming in from outside.

6) I'm a total self-destructive night owl. I often stay up until 1am, even if I have to get up in the morning. I keep telling myself this is crazy behavior, and that it will shorten my life. But the Proverbs 31 woman did it, so maybe it is ok. :-)

7) Oh, good, number seven. This is almost over. I have trouble swallowing large pills. I have a fear of it. Often I choke on even medium sized ones.

8) I have four older sisters and we all have names starting with the letter L. Also, we all have middle names starting with the letter A.

That's it. Wake up and go do your entry if I've tagged you:
Chelsea
Jamie
Beth
Angela
Amy
Ashley
[Kristyn|lilyofthevalley ] why doesn't this link work?
Brian

this is for you, Smarty
angelaI will do my 8 facts today. I happen to share numbers 3 and 7 with you!
ashuleeThat link isn't working because of the space between Kristyn's username and the bracket. Okay, it is just too cool that you, too, love Dick Francis novels. I think my parents own almost every one, so I usually start reading one while I am there. My self-esteem owes orthodontia a huge debt. Do you feel that way?
mmmcoffeethat's the weird part. there is no space when I edit.
scrappinbethieI just heard that Disney is giving away a one day ticket next year to everyone on their birthday to use on that day. Hope your trip falls on someones day. Great site for deals is www.mousesavers.com and one for everything else is www.allearsnet.com
angelaI guess I'll be doing my eight facts tomorrow. And no current plans to move to GA, but one never knows what the future holds! ;)
nativetexanI'm telling you, there's a space between the "y" and the "]".
nativetexanYou're keyboard must have a poltergeist.
susieKathryn has the pill swallowing fear too! The baby shower was so pretty, you all did such a good job!
mmmcoffeeand i'm telling YOU, no it doesn't. It looks like it does. but it doesn't.
sweetpeasThings went really well today. Way to go on the decorations!
sweetpeasAre you thinking about going to 1000 voices this year?
sweetpeasthinking about it. Kevin offered to keep the older ones and let me have the time to go. Guess the main thing is healing, but I should be good by that time.
redtopmaybe #3 could have an "O" name so that I'm not the only one singled out. Otto, Ophelia, Orville...or maybe not.
grgapchI love that Cakewrecks blog....I look at it every day.
nativetexanDid you actually try to delete and retype it under my name? I still think there's a space there, even though your fancy-schmancy Safari browser doesn't think so.
lilyofthevalleyOk, I had that happen to me too! So weird!
I'm with ya on the night owl thing.
praguerOne of my hobbies is collecting crochet books. I'll never make all the projects in them. I just like looking at the books. And thanks for playing along! :)
cdillman23I think my kids stink when they come in from playing outside! Oh, I'm a night owl trying to retire from that position!

fi. na. lly. 09-15-08 10:14pm EST
after hanging on by half a molecule for weeks, Abby's first loose tooth came out today when she took a bite of her lunchtime burrito.

the new tooth is already growing in.

I was all ready to hand it over to the tooth fairy this evening, but she wants to keep it for a while. It is a tired looking little thing -- the corners are chipped and the enamel is all worn off. Not much of a prize for the tooth fairy.
orangesharpieReminds me of the time one of my front teeth was hanging on by gum particles, but I still refused to let anyone pull it out. Then I bit a fry, and out it came.
nillabarrCute picture!
redtopSo cute. I always refused to let anyone pull my teeth too.
grgapchAw mama....she's growing up. Aimee can't wait to lose her first tooth. She's always telling me her teeth are loose when they're not.
praguerMy son likes your daughter's picture. He'd probably flirt with her if she were here. He's always gone for older women. :)
redtopHow tramatic! My two front teeth on top were loose at the same time. My grandpa wanted to pull them out and I said no, of course. So then he told me he just wanted to look at them and promised not to touch them. Of course I opened my mouth and he YANKED...and they didn't come out. They were loose enough, but after that they were dangling and gushing blood. So I had to go back and let him pull them the rest of the way out. Horror!
angelaMy dad always teased that he would tie one end of a string to my tooth and the other end to a doorknob and then slam the door.

Needless to say, I never let anyone pull any teeth! I just wiggled them to death.
angelaBy the way, I was there for the big unveiling of Leigh's quilt! It is beautiful!
amyjane72^^^yes, we wished you could have been there larissa. i hope you know we thought about you! :)
sweetpeasFeet are better. (not normal, though) I am learning to take it easy. :) I'm going to inform the doctor of the situation tomorrow. It's a toss up as to whether I want to miss Fri. night. ;)
matidwellExciting times!
susieSweet! I saw her "wigglin" it Sunday night. I lost a jaw tooth once when I bit down on a suger daddy.
julied93Yes... finally!!
cdillman23Glad it came out.
sarahsmilewhat a precious little thang she is!
praguerYou've been tagged. See my blog for more info. If you don't have time, no biggie. Just let me know.
