It has been a long and challenging summer. As I traveled and met several different people and gone through several new experiences, I have learned more about myself.
5 Things I have learned:
1. I can make myself have energy when I require it.
2. I don't have to be friends with everyone.
3. I DO have limitations on what I can handle.
4. People notice me even when I don't think I matter.
5. I have so much to work on!
I could list so much more, but those seemed to be the big ones on my mind. I have tried to learn to be content in whatever circumstance I find myself facing. It is harder than I thought it was. There is so much to consider when you look at what facits of your life need to be focused on; mentally, socially, physically, and spiritually!
Number 4 has always frightened/sobered me. No matter what role you serve, teacher/parent/sibling/friend/etc. other are watching. Some are waiting for you to fail, others for example or encouragement. I'm glad you had a great summer. Ours has been busy also. Just got back from singing school, now in Galveston at our kid's home. Great relaxation before school begins. Later...
Molly! I was sitting at the Kleinwood singing last night with 1300 people all singing at the top of their lungs and I kept wishing you were there to sing with. :) Hope your summer has been absolutely amazing!! (I'm so jealous, haha!)
Oh the summer has been fantastic, although decidedly more laid back than yours I'm sure. Been laying around reading books and spending quality time with friends. Just slowly working myself into school mode again getting ready for the rugrats to come back :D
Gary Henry is doing a series of lessons on his most famous subject, "Diligently Seeking God." I went to hear him last night and he gave me some great things to think about that I want to share with you.
The act of "seeking God" has usually been considered as a self-centered work. Questions like: "What am I doing to be more of a Christian?" or "How am I doing in my walk with God?" are good questions to ask, but seeking God is not about me!
Seeking God is not just assembling with the saints, Bible Study, prayer, helping people, doctrinal soundness, or active personal evangelism. These are good things to do, but it all depends on the motive behind these actions.
He defined seeking God as "growth in obedience with a desire to love and honor God more EVERY DAY!"
Phil 3:13-14 -- Seeking God is a goal to strive for
Psalm 27:4 -- David had a strong desire to Seek God
Matt 22:27-28 -- Love God = Seeking God
I know, being busy is no excuse, but here i am. I will try to keep up with this for you all. This past week, "sorry" just happened to be my word. Whether playing volleyball or feeling sorry for someone. I went to Dry Creek camp and it was one of the best weeks of the year so far. I met so many amazing people and one of the counselors happened to point out how much I say sorry. Thanks Mike :). So even though it's not the beginning of the year, I am making a resolution to do what I mean to do so that I won't have to be sorry as much.
I am so excited to see what the rest of the summer will bring me. I am so blessed to get to travel to all of these camps and meet so many wonderful, young Christians who get to escape the world for a whole week just to be with other people of like faith. Praise God.
It was great to see you last week...I hope you are enjoying Colorado. Please tell everyone hi for me! Oh can you find out what kind of kitchen sink your mom has for me....thanks!
Man if I could find a way to make the round trip under $100 I'd totally be there :) I'm definately planning to apply for camp next year if I just don't forget to in my normal bout of procrastination, hehe. I miss you Molly!!
Molly! Aaaah, I miss you too girl! I can't remember if i've told you or not yet, but i'll definitely be there in the fall, and i'm SO stinkin excited about it!
As much as I love traveling, it is so good to be in one place for over a week! I cannot believe all of the places I have been this summer. Here are just a few:
Tampa, FL
Atlanta, GA
Kansas City, MO
Gothenburg (aka MON), NE
COLORADO SPRINGS!!!
Indianapolis, IN
Chicago, IL
St. Louis, MO
Idaho
Nevada
Pendleton, OR
Seattle, WA
and so much more. I am so blessed to have all of these opportunities to travel and meet so many great Christians!
I am so excited to start school. Living off campus has its good and bad points. Good is that I can escape whenever I need to, Bad is that I don't get to se so many people...Oh well.
I'm glad I got to meet you too :) What? No mention of Columbia, Missouri? :) I'm sure it's nice to be in one place and not living out of a suitcase! :) Have a great day!

Are you going to USF too this year! They're doing great in football, right behind The Buckeyes!!!!!!!! Love you!
Hey Molly. Thats totally fine that u dont get on here very often. I just got one so i hope that u can get on more so that we can stay connected. Thx so much for thinking I have a good voice. I really wish that we would have had the chance to sing more together at camp. That would have been awesome. Maybe someday we'll c each other again and can sing together. If not I will look foward to it in Heaven.
O and my life is ok rite now. I am going through my first break up and its been hard but I have been praying a lot and the lord has helped me through a lot along with all my wonderful christian friends. Other than that life is good. High school is a lot of fun and I am very involved in choir! lol so yeah. Wats going on with you?? I was also wondering if you knew Jordan Hill and if he had one of these?? if so could you let me know his? that would be awesome. talk to u later!
well, I got bored a while back and decided to name my friends list after Harry Potter and Star Wars names. I was running out of fitting names for most people. so I had to assign a lot of random ones. Maybe I'll do a bible theme sometime soon...
