So from car problems to car problems. Whatever it takes to get a post! lol! the van failed inspection and we got an appointment to have it taken care of and was pleasantly surprised that at least the belt(s) that we thought need to be replaced actually already had been in the spring and all it needed was to be tightened, but... the muffler needed to be replaced and a motor mount and a transmission mount also needed to be replaced...grrr, but it's done and passed inspection. The funny part was that when I pulled up to the door of the inspection station for the "re-inspection" I could see the reflection of the car in the door, and ... I had a headlight out!... I didn't want to fail and have to pay again or pay more for the bulb at the inspection station (plus I thought I had a headlamp) sooooo... I came home tried to replace it but the extra headlamp in the drawer was no good and so went to the mechanic's to ask if I was doing something wrong ( and wasn't, just needed a new bulb...), went to the store and got the bulb, put it in, went back and had it inspected and ...whew... it passed. I can make most any thing into an adventure! ;)
Meanwhile I have been knitting like a crazy person(yeah, yeah, I know:) to finish Faithlyn's sweater, including at the inspection station! and finally got it done, have to get it sent now! :)now I have to finish some baby gifts and repair Frank's nice "bamboo/wool" socks that I made and now they have a BIG hole, so I am trying to learn the nearly forgotten skill of darning!
Bye for now!
JanC
Hi Jan, Sorry about your car problems...what a pain those are! Knock on wood I've not had too many since Phil's been gone. I often think of our fun time at the Y doing water aerobics. Seeing your smiling face across the pool knowing you were enjoying yourself was great! You sound busy and doing well. A new grandbaby on the way...that's always exciting. It won't be long now until you meet him or her face to face! Love and miss you!
I am so glad you and Frank are here - talk about good timing! I know it's been a great blessing to Steve and Jensie to have you around to help out. And we enjoyed waiting on the babay with you yesterday! :) Call us if we can do anything for you.
So you have heard about our sweet new granddaughter...so cute!!!!
And now we are back on the east coast, but stuck in Delaware (fortunately at our friend's ~Susan "the midwife" and her husband~)with a bad starter etc...sigh...cars...Hope it will be fixed tomorrow, and we will try to head home by midday to get home by late tomorrow nite.
(((((Hugs))))))JanC
Thanks! I had sent an email to your comcast address listed here on your blog, but also forwarded it to your gmail account. Hope you got all your car problems fixed! That can be such a pain. Have a great weekend!
Ah! It's been great. We went horseback riding today up a mountain. We met these people from England and drove them around a little to a mountain top...Great day!!!
I have been blessed with another LOVELY spring day and LOTS to keep me out in it (OK alot of it is "running around"). Maybe I can even get to get out in the garden...YAY!!! And tomorrow is the Partner's in Perinatal Health conf, which I always love, but tomorrow it means that I will miss the afternoon Kniting group at the library, but hope I can get to the "evening edition" at Boarders. unless we decide to trek down to Wallingford, Connecticut for the Gospel Mtg, which would be really awesome but I don't think I can do another tank of gas this week...sigh...
Jan out!
It's beautiful here too - no wind- for a change. How in the world are you? Sorry I missed your call recently. I've been struggling a bit, but manage to get by with the Lord's help! I am so happy spring has decided to come and stay. It's been cold and dreary here this Spring. Still cleaning up from the ice storm in December. So many trees destroyed or damaged. You'll see when you come for the birth of the baby. My love to you and Frank.
I seem to remember this one time maybe a week and a half after his wedding that first one managed to get arrested for removing his sandals and bowing in a disrespectful manner to two Lawrence Police officers. That one turned out GREAT! ;)
His pride. ...sort of. I remember his being yelled at and threatened as result of him getting heated with the lady behind the counter in defense of me and trying to get my permit. I also remember him being grabbed by the shoulders and cuffed and then stuffed into a squad car immediately following his exiting a line I was standing in, removing his sandals, smarting something to the effect of "holy ground" and bowing to the police officers. That moment is forever burned into my skull.
Hi Jan. Doug was in Manchester, NH last week, but was so busy with meetings and classes that I don't think he saw the outside of the hotel. :)) I hope we can get back to your area in the fall. It was totally, unbelieveably gorgeous last year!!
But they are done and in the end...Frank did them! and we had enough money to pay them and so I'm thankfull ....and exausted.
GoodnightAll,
(((((hugs))) me (Janice,Jancie,Jan,JanC,mama, mom, mommalie,Mrs.C,Mamachet,Grandma, GrandmaJan, and even Bupcha Jan!)
Hey Jan, good to hear from you! Hope all is well in your family. We sure would like to make it over in your direction sometime soon ... we'd love to see everyone in MA/RI.
Frank is mostly beter. Thank you to everyone! I am working full time at the moment but probably only for another week and then I have a Mothercare client so that is probably fine, but getting a decent amount of pay from the town of Methuen is novel and very pleasant and a big help right now so HOORAY for good paying jobs :) And working with a really sharp/good regular nurse makes it good as well.
But I have to be into work in the morning so 'nite all!
I love the picture of him, he is so cute. I am so thankful for answered prayers. Glad to see Frank is feeling better. Maybe when the rain lets up we'll try to visit you all up there.
I'm ok...there were a lot of media coverage but I'm still not sure how bad the storms really were...but the SEC tournament was here this weekend and a tornado hit the GA dome where the game was going on.
