Being a teacher in December is fantastic. I love winter break. :)
It has gone by way too fast, of course, but I've been able to spend a ton of time with family. I also saw "Marley and Me". It made me cry.
I've been trying to get a lot done. Today I went to school for the first time during break. I cleaned and organized my classroom. Those are two things I barely have time for when school is in session.
My grandma passed from this life very early this morning. I was able to see her one last time late last night. She was pretty much comatose, but I still told her I loved her. A week and a half ago, the last time I saw her when she was alert, she was laughing and talking with me. It was abrupt, but at the same, she's been in and out of the hospital for a few months now. I know she was suffering, and last night, she could barely breathe. Her kidneys had stopped functioning, and her lungs and around her heart were filling with fluid.
My grandma (or "Granny", as she is called) was a remarkable example for me my entire life. She raised 5 children, who all became Christians. She had 11 Christian grandchildren. Recently, she had also been blessed with three great grandchildren. She lived a full life, and she constantly taught others about the Bible. Even in her VERY ill state, as she wrote "thank you" cards to those who had written her recently, she invited the non-Christians to come to church. She didn't pass up opportunities to invite others to Bible study or worship. All my life she has been this way, along with constantly reading her Bible and studying. She had more Bible knowledge than anyone else I know. She was a godly, submissive wife, teaching her children about His word. What an example of a Christian woman--I strive to be more like her each day.
I am so blessed, because I have been able to spend so much time with her throughout my life. I am sure at times I took that for granted, unfortunately. She has blessed me in so many ways.
Things are busy here, but I had to spend a moment to reflect on her life. I miss her dearly, but I am so glad her suffering has ended.
I love her very much.
Thanks to those of you who have contacted me and expressed your sympathy. Also, thank you for your prayers.
(If anyone reading this happens to go to FC camp to pick up people or see the talent show and know my little brother and sister, please don't mention anything to them. My parents are going to tell them when they pick them up tomorrow morning. I don't know if this is a situation that would even arise, but I just had to make sure. Thanks.)
Hello deary you have been on here in quite sometime. But i wanted to Tag you! Take some time from your busy crazy schedule and think of some fun things about your self! Love ya!
Lately, I have been using pleonast to communicate prayer requests, but not too much more than that. I think prayer requests are important, and I haven't had a lot of time (or motivation!!) to just blog about my every day life.
My grandma is not doing well at all. She is home from the hospital but under hospice care at home. She sleeps most of the time and doesn't eat very much. Also, she is on oxygen. She can't move much by herself anymore, and she needs a ton of help with EVERYTHING. Up until just recently, she has been able to take care of herself and was pretty active for an 89 year old. Please pray. I love my grandma, and I know whatever happens will be for the best--God's will be done. (However, right now, it's very hard for me to comprehend anything but her living several more years.)
Update - This morning, my grandma was not even responding to those who were talking to her. Her hospice nurses believe death is a matter of days now, not even weeks. I know she's in physical pain (A LOT), so I want what is best for her. Pray for her, pray for the family. This is a very rough time. If I am not at Eastside this evening, that means I am back in the St.Louis area.

I just want to request prayers on behalf of my family. Many of them live in areas where the flooding is getting really bad. This morning, the National Guard knocked on my aunt's door and told them to evacuate, because another levy had broke--this one near their house. I have family in both Winfield and Old Monroe, which are both areas where things are really bad. The flooding is also in St.Charles. Anyway, just keep them in your thoughts. My grandma is 89 and has been in and out of the hospital a lot recently. She lives in the house that was evacuated, and she has a lot of trouble getting around. Keep her in your prayers especially.
As for me, I'm headed that direction this evening for some family stuff. Have a great weekend, and thanks for your prayers!
Update: Evacuation order was canceled for now. That's good news. Many other areas are still in danger of flooding, though.
Thank you, I will try at least the shower, I have to call and make sure it is ok to take that much medication while nursing. Hopefully I can and it will take care of this. It has now progressed to nausia, ick
The crazy thing is that I don't think they let me take gum in! We have to put everything in a plastic baggie, like at the airport, and only "permitted" things are allowed in. Crazy people.
I graduated today. Oh, and Garth Brooks was there. :) Check out my facebook page for pictures with Garth Brooks...oh, and graduation. Ha ha.
I really did have a great graduation day. So many family members and friends were there to celebrate and support me. They were so awesome that they deserve to be listed: My entire immediate family - Mom, Dad, Stephanie, April, Beth, Ethan. My nephew, Jaden. My aunt Rosie, uncle Kerry, and cousin Becky. My aunt Martha. My aunt Karen, uncle Jack, and cousins Marie, Mike, and John. Becky and Alexander. Daylon, his parents, his aunt, and his grandma.
I love to spend time with those that I love. I am blessed with a wonderful support system, and I greatly appreciate all they do for me.
It was a long day (starting at 8:30 for the Honor's Convocation), but it was a wonderful day. Have an awesome Sunday!
