Not being on for a week I feel that I have missed out on a lot. We have been sick with this sinus/cough/fever stuff going around. I hope that everyone had a wonderful Holiday.
I was going to get in touch with you today. I hadn't seen you and there were so many gone at church I thought maybe you had gone out of town for the holidays. Hope everyone is feeling much better.
My Mom's dressing but I have never mastered it so they are content to eat stovetop dressing and it works for me but it's not as good. Maybe I should try and make dressing this year, one more time. I miss everyone. Will be home this Friday., late.
Homemade dressing. I only get it once a year. My favorite. My plans are to have t-giving dinner at home w/some of my family. Hopefully, Dennis will make the dressing.
When my mother had all the t-giving dinners, we would make banana croquets. Bananas covered in mayo and rolled in crushed peanuts and her fruit salad. Yum!
Banana Croquettes Recipe: To make them, take firm bananas (not too ripe) and slice them into thirds. Dip each part into the mayonaise dressing, and then into finely chopped spanish peanuts. Place on serving dish. The dressing is made with Mayonaisse, a few dashes of lemon juice, and milk to thin. You want the dressing to be able to stay on the banana, but not clump. I have also substituted coconut for the peanuts. If made ahead of time, keep in the fridge or in the cooler.
Actually I don't care much for turkey, so my Mom makes a turkey and I make a ham. I love ham, that and pumpkin pie. Brandon will usually make banana croquettes while I'm making other stuff. Brandon, Dad, and Mark love them.
The banana croquettes must be a Kentucky thing, as I have never heard of them before this. Ambrosia is cut up oranges and pineapple, coconut and pecans, has lots of juice and the oranges and coconut make it sweet. It's just a really refreshing, light dessert. I think that is an Alabama thing! People in Arkansas have never heard of it.
taking a break from traveling! :) We'll be in KY for xmas though!! :) I worked 4 days this week, but so far, I don't have any work lined up for next week. I'm sure a little will come up though. I am reading a book called "Created to be His Help Meet." There are some incorrect statements, but for the most part, it is a good book about submission. I have learned a lot from it. I am also working on a photo book from our Egypt-Israel-Italy trip. I think for Thanksgiving, we are driving up the interstate to Oregon then back down along the coast. How about you? :)
This was posted in another site, and it's not confirmed yet .

The one place I have always wanted to take my kids and never could afford. Nothing has changed. I still want to take my kids and still can't afford it.
No money here either but I think the boys are too young to remember if we went now anyway. If we were going to fork out that much dough, I atleast want them to remember it. :)
Yes, I was the only girl out of 7 brothers and the baby of the family. You see, they were going to keep going until they got a girl. How lucky was I!!!
It was fun, but different without the kids, I did enjoy the trip, we went to Epcot, it was alot different than when we took the kids, about 16 years ago
i saw your comment on his blog about your "tyler" moments. i've had alot of "ross" moments, and i really treasure them. i can remember being in the emergency room at the jewish hospital er in st. matthews at 1 am with him, laughing so hard about something that we were crying.
Are the batroom up by the play area? I'm not too familar but don't remember any bathrooms. Catch me tonight so I know exactly and we'll talk about a time I can meet you. I'd love to watch her run.
Krispy Kreme wants your vote! Actually, the company doesn't care who you vote for as long as you vote. On November 4, locations around the country will be handing out free star-shaped donuts with red, white and blue sprinkles to anyone with an "I Voted" sticker (we're guessing other proof may be allowed, in case your polling place is out of stickers). The effort is non-partisan, so don't worry about one of the candidates forking over a wad of leftover campaign money in some kind of weird get-out-the-vote effort. This is just about Krispy Kreme trying to get some foot traffic of its own.
"We can't guarantee that your candidate of preference will win on November 4, but we can guarantee that your right to voice your choice will be rewarded with a patriotic doughnut that will remind you just how tasty freedom really is," said Krispy Kreme's Chef Ron Rupocinski in a press release. "Krispy Kreme encourages everyone to take part in this historical election and vote."
Does Sarah know about this? Oh no, I forgot she is having surgery that day....no Krispy Kremes for her..we dont' have a Krispy Kreme here in Conway, so I am out too! But I will go vote!!!
sarah and nathan could stop at krispie kreme on the way home from the hospital. it's about two minutes away from the hospital if you hop on the expressway.
like sarah will really feel like a doughnut then!
I was just getting ready to take off when I noticed your post. I'm going to get my friend who scrapbooks and we're going to Hobby Lobby and get some supplies and then back to her house to do some die cutting. Stan is goingto leave me with her and take Danny D. to his Dr's appt. and I won't go home till he's on his way home. Hope it doesn't interfere with my healing process. lol Scrapbooking gives me life. I won't be doing anything but sitting and making sure my die cut stays in one piece. Have a great day. Enjoyed getting to talk to you a little bit yesterday. We have to do more of it.
I don't know whether you would want my batteries or not they have a little stubborness in them since I don't know when to quit. Hope you get some of your energy back.
