Curious about who is out there in "pleoland" 11-10-07 01:40pm EST
I am retired from the Air Force. I became a Christian in 1979, while stationed in Ohio. In addition to Ohio, I have spent some time in Texas, New Mexico, Colorado, Germany, Virginia, and Mississippi (my home state.) I currently live in North Carolina.
I enjoy honest and serious bible discussions. I also enjoy soccer and other outdoor activities.
I have been a youth coach and a USSF and NCHS certified referee. I will be coaching the boy's team where I am now serving as a middle-school teacher, in NC.
While in the Air Force, I taught at the NCO Academy at Keesler.
I have done some preaching in most of the places where I have lived.
If we have possibly crossed paths along our journeys, please post a note to let me know who you are. Have a great day!
bbeasleyI think this is great. You never know who you will find on here! :)
bbeasleythe dots mean that "your friend" has had a new comment posted on their blog. The only way for the dot to go away is for you to go to their blog. Those dots can get a little annoying - especially when you have a lot of blogs to go to. :)
jhaganMy parents moved to Colorado in 1976 and I have lived their pretty much all of my life. What part of Colorado were you in and when were you there?
jhaganI was pretty young at that time (6 years old), but I was at Boston Street then! I believe that my dad, Richard Hagan, was a deacon at that point.
bbeasley^^Cool!
ncfencerJhagan, do you remember a young preacher that worked with Hoyt Houchen at that time? i believe his name was Jim or John. I think he got married in 1981.
jhaganNo, I don't, but I can ask my parents. At 6, I remember rolling down the hill by the front doors and getting punished by my parents for grass stains and inappropriate behavior.
bbeasleyGlad to hear it... Can't wait to see her this morning!
jenlew21Nope, I just wasn't sure if you were a different Randy that I know from one of my old congregations. :)
ncfencerJhagan, I was also in Denver in 1989. The young preacher I mentioned earlier was actually at Boston Street at this time. I normally rode a bicycle to services, from the Air Base. I remember attending a bachelor party for this young preacher. At this party, we watched a sort of "dark" docu-film. I don't know if this helps, or if any others might remember this occassion.
fantabularHey Randy! Welcome to Pleoland =)
Don't worry, you weren't the person I was referring to that kept "name dropping" all the time. It's actually something I've witnessed as I've grown up in the church, but a recent event was kind of "the last straw" so I had to write something about it. You're a great & humble man, thanks for apologizing anyway =)
all_gods_childrenWelcome to Pleonast Randy! You'll be amazed of all the connections you will make while on here! What dates were you in N.N.? I may have met you, I'm just trying to think back. :) If you know my folks, I'm sure you've heard plenty of stories...
fantabularVote Well =)
