Jill left this earth to be with our Father this evening.
Please continue to pray for Art Colgain, he has a very long and difficult road ahead of him. Since he was driving recklessly, he will be charged within the next couple of days.

Jared's grandpa, William Barr, will have the surgery needed to repair his hip tomorrow morning. He is considered "high risk" for this surgery. We would greatly appreciate prayers on his behalf and the doctors caring for him.

I continue to covet your prayers.
Jill's condition is still similar. She is still breathing about 50% on her own. Today she had an EEG that measured "irregular brain activity". The fact that there was any activity is a positive sign... but it doesn't mean much yet. They really need to do a specific MRI to see more of what is going on. They can not do this until she can lie flat without her swelling increasing. So they will wait a few more days and reassess the issue. Meanwhile they have had her in surgery to remove part of her skull to relieve the pressure. She's also had surgeries to repair her arms. Her arms are broken in almost pieces. :(
We now have another prayer request. We found out last night that Jared's grandpa fell in his driveway. This is Jared's father's father. William Barr. Long story short... he fell due to a heartattack and is in a somewhat serious condition spending a good part of the day in the ICU. He needs surgery to repair his hip... but they are waiting for his heart to be stable enough for that.
Please continue to keep our loved ones in your prayers. It means so much that you care enough to read this and then send prayers to our loving Father.

I spoke to my mom today and after she visited Jill she thought she looked so much better. The swelling has come down some in her face and she has a better color too. They also thought they may have seen her feet move. She also seems to be breathing on her own about 50%.
There is still bleeding and swelling in the brain and it looks like the C2 and another part of her vertebrae on the upper spine are fractured. Because it is at the top of her spine and so close to her brain, it is hard to tell (at this point) if she will be paralyzed. There does also appear to be spinal cord injury.

Jill's condition is very critical. She now has a less than 10% chance of survival due to severe swelling and bleeding in the brain and parts of her neck are broken. Art is doing suprisingly well less the extreme soreness he is suffering. That is only physically. He is beside himself emotionally concerning Jill. I desperately covet your prayers. This couple is dear to me and Jared.

I got a phone call from my sister this afternoon who is currently visiting my parents in Kaysville, Utah. There is a couple there that worships with the Kaysville church of Christ who are friends of ours. Chelsea informed me that they were in a serious car accident right after services this morning. Art, seems to be okay... but his wife Jill wasn't breathing and was life-flighted to the local trauma ward of the hospital. Chelsea just called again and said that Jill has a 10% chance of survival.
Please pray for Art & Jill Colgain and all the saints in Kaysville. |
