I hope everyone has a great day. We are going to my moms for lunch and then we are going camping for a few days. Although, I try to be thankful everyday, I just thought I would name a few things I am thankful for today:
I was taught the truth about the gospel.
I havea wonderful godly husband.
I have 3 wonderful, healthy boys.
Dan and I are healthy.
I am able to homeschool and spend almost everyday with my children.
My husband has a good job and works at home.
We are able to live out in the country.
We have a lot of great christian friends.
I hope that your week-end was enjoyed! I love all of your items that you are thankful for. I agree with them all. We had a good time as family being together!
I can't believe he is 8 already. It is pretty unbelievable how different he is than Drocklin. Most of the time he jumps up quickly and does what ever I ask. For example on Sunday morning, it takes him about 3 min. to get dressed, but takes Drocklin sometimes up to 30 min. If Drocklin has to take a nap, he would rather clean the house than play by himself. He really helps me out a lot. We often call him the policeman because he is often in other peoples business, which is sometimes good, but most of the time not. It is good because he lets me know when Drocklin or Dryson is doing something wrong. But it is bad, because he tells me a lot of things that are not wrong, but he thinks is wrong. We are working on that. He does well in school, although he does not like it. He really looks up to his Dad and copies him in a lot of ways. It is quite humerous somethimes. He really does a good job looking after Dryson and helping me with him. We have really been blest with 3 wonderful boys.
Wow.. Your boys birthdays are so close. Happy Birthday to Drayton. He is just 6 months youner than Jake. I didn't realize we were pregnant at the same time. (very cool) Wouldn't it be fun for them to get together some day. We need to plan a trip to meet at Leah's. Now that would be fun!! (I wonder what she would think. LOL!)
my boys are different that way too...Jordan wakes up fine and silly most days, Dustin on the other hand doesn't want anything but QUIET for about the first hour after he "wakes up"! he would sleep til noon every day if he could. Of course he could also stay up 1/2 the night, while Jordan falls asleep as soon as he lays down to watch TV with us!
Wow, aren't all of your families birthdays in October and November? It sure seems like they are! Hope that Drayton had a good birthday! He sounds like a big helper for you all!
It's freezing now and will be until Feb or so. We are at about 7200 feet above sea level. So think Denver weather and that's us. Even during the other months we have cool mornings and cool evenings.
Today is Dan's birthday. I am so lucky to be married to such a great person. He is a great husband and dad. He always puts others before himself. His children adore him. In fact, I must admit I get a little jealous sometimes, because the oldest two would rather be with him then me. I know that means it will be the same with Dryson soon.
That is great to have a husband that is always about others before self. Good to hear of his sons loving to be with him. Always remember the they are with you all day for many other reasons and needs and for Dan to enjoy time with them, they no doubt enjoy the time with Dad. It's great for them to have a mix of both of you! Happy B-Day to Dan!
They are not to bad but I hear it is the days after that are the worse so I just pray for the best that is all I can do. Thank you for the comment I love reading them when I have time but sometimes it is hard to comment back. Happy Birthday to Dan.
Time is flying faster and faster. Hopefully potty training will happen soon. Poor thing, he took off his diaper 4 times last night and got on the pot and tried to go. He started crying because he couldn't go. He is talking quite well. Better than I remember the other boys talking at this age. He is saying 3 word sentences. It is amazing how he seems to be a mixture of both the boys personalities. He has learned to take up for himself. Anytime the boys do something to him he starts hitting them. They cant take advantage of him any longer. He loves Seasame Street. Especially Melmo(Elmo) and Bi Bird. I think he would sit and watch it all day if I would let him. We are working on his temper. He often throws things when he doesn't get his way. He loves to eat like the other two. It is amazing how much they all can eat. I wish I had at least one that didn't eat very much. I love to watch him and Drayton
interact. It is enjoyable to see Drayton be a good big brother to him and take care of him. Just wish it would be that way all the time. He loves to go outside with his brothers and jump on the trampoline or swing ont he tire swing. He tells Drayton "swing fast". Drayton winds the tire swing up high and Dryson loves going around fast. It amazes me that he can hold on. I love the way he says thank you. He says " aaaank you mommy"
Yes, we use the workbook. It is how I can keep a grade for him in History. It's a test over 5 chapters at a time and it is great review for the reading we have done.
I got the Prima Latina from the home school convention at Relient. The store that it came from was the HEP bookstore. They are SOOO helpful there. They help you in every way there. I did get everything that goes with the curriculum, including the CD. I wanted to be able to hear the correct pronunciation of all the latin. I am wanting to make another trip to HEP soon. Would you want to go with me?
I enjoyed that. Maybe I can catch y'all in January. I preached in Minnesota this week (Rochester) and there was a big IBM building just down from where I stayed. Big place.
Wow, I can't believe it. He is quite a character, very animated. In fact when he was opening his presents at his party, on just about everyone he got a big smile on his face and yelled, "it is just what I wanted." He is very content to play and sleep by himself. Completely opposite of Drayton. He loves to play with legos, his remote control cars, and baseball. There for a while, him and Dray were playing baseball everyday in our backyard. He also loves camo, he wears the same clothes almost everyday. He can't wait to go hunting with Dan. Right now he has to settle for killing squirrels. He is doing quite well in school, although he hates it. Wish I could find a way to make it more fun for both of them. He seems to always have something funny to say, but his facial expressions make it even funnier. He is not a morning person, and when I have to wake him up for something, it is not good. We are working on that. He is the laid back type. I would say his motto is Don't Worry, Be Happy.
Happy Birthday to your cute boy!! I can't believe he is already 5!! I wish I could be around your kids more. He sounds like such a fun kid and so sweet! Enjoy your day together:)
The Latin that I am using is Prima Latina. It is a classical trivium core series. I don't remember what history book I was talking about unless it is the Story of the World. That is what we have used for History the last 2 years. We are really enjoying it.
