I want to get mine done early this year. Isn't that what we all say?! I want to include a picture of Mackenna Mae for the relatives that live far away! So I need to get busy.
Nation's Medicines is having their annual holiday dinner tomorrow night. It is held at the famous Moonlight Barbecue. It is a buffet style w/ lots of meat, veggies, separate salad bar, and dessert bar!! Yummy. Usually Santa makes an appearance. And David Nation has been giving the employees' children ornaments w/ the date on each one for several years! I was impressed w/ that!
John's company dinner is on the 12th. But I forget where it is this year. They were thinking of changing place due to not so good service last year. But when we did get our food, it was good.
Anyway. Are ya'll sending greeting cards this year? My list is much smaller. We used to do the yearly letter. As much as I love receiving them, I hate writing them!!! So I probably won't do that this go around.
Probably no cards from us this year. Every year I buy them to send; every year I don't find time to send them. I think I'll throw in the towel till I'm not working anymore! Of course, then we won't be able to afford postage!
I always send out cards, but I'm really thinking of not doing it this year. Haven't decided for sure yet, I'm going to have to soon. With everything else, it's really stressful trying to get it done!
I think I'm going to wait and send out letters/cards w/ pics when we get stationed at our base. I think that will be the best time for us to update everyone on our happenings:o) So I guess, I am skipping christmas cards and doing spring/early summer cards :o)
Haven't decided on cards. I usually try to send them to people who send them to me!! But only out of town folks. No need to send one to you. I see you a lot. Or at least I used to!!!!
It really came down here. It looked like we were in a snow globe! Of course, it all came to nothing, but I'm ok with that because I didn't want to drive home in it. ;)
We had safe travels and a good day w/ the kids. Thanksgiving Dinner was a joint effort that Neenee and I shared. It was wonderful!
I got to hold my Sweet Baby Mackenna Mae. She is a doll. She smiles and coos and loves walking around to see everything!
[Please continue your prayers for her. They are much needed and much appreciated. Please pray for Kris and Tiff too. They have quite a load, and need your prayers.]
We wore t-shirts that Dan and Neenee printed for us. On the front it says "Team Mackenna". On the back it says "Sugar, Spice, Everything Nice and Answered Prayers. That's what our Little Girl is made of"! We didn't get a group shot, unfortunately, of all of us wearing them. But as Kristopher says, we have the picture in our memory!!!!
Today it is back to work. I am thankful that I have a job. So many are out of work these days.
I have the turkey in the crock, the raisin pie is cooling, as are the brownies. The Quackers are finished. The cranberry stuff is started, (it is an over night process). The pumpkin chiffon pie is finished. I think I have everything done on my list!!! Now to remember to pack it all for the trip to Indy Thursday morning.
I can hardly wait to see my sweet Mackenna Mae. I want to sing to her and read to her and ... oh wait. Did I mention this already?!?
I am so thankful for transportation. Yep. I don't take that lightly. We will be able to travel north to visit our kids. I am so happy about that. I remember a time when we didn't have a dependable vehicle and had to miss a funeral b/c it wasn't safe to drive the distance. Yes. I am thankful for my van.
raisin pie? i don't think i've heard of that, but it sounds good :)
i'm glad you get to spend thanksgiving with your family, especially that beautiful new granddaughter. between you and aunt neenee i don't think she'll have to worry about being put down ;)
John & I took advantage of the nice weather this afternoon and got all of the leaves to the curb. I also got our yard mowed, hopefully for the last time this year! It looks great! We also got our water hose put away and cleaned out a gutter. I put away a flower pot. Just the change of the season things that we haven't got to since being in Indy! In fact, John said the last time the yard was mowed was by someone from church while we were gone!!! (We have a great church fam here!!!)
Thanksgiving is right around the corner. I can hardly wait to be w/ my kids...all of them!!! I am especially ready to see my granddaughter!! And hold her. And sing to her. And read to her. And rock her. And kiss her sweet cheeks. Well, you get the idea. I want to "Granna" her!!!
Hope ya'll have a happy and safe thanksgiving!!!
toodles
Bob got most of our leaves out to the curb before we went to Bowling Green last weekend, but the ones that have fallen since are either snow covered or stuck to the ground. He really wanted to get them blown off before Thanksgiving!
Have a happy holiday! Enjoy your hands-on Granna time!
I'll fill you in "Granna." The Grrrr sound doesn't come easy. We've been working with Isaac and Ezra to say Grandpa and Grandma. We just came from their house. Isaac was making his lips look like we did but every time it would come out Mammaw. Mammaw is the other grandma. One time it sounded like he might have said Bammaw. We were working on Gammaw, but that didn't work either. It just comes out Mammaw. :)
