I haven't lost my dad yet but I have lost my grandfather last year and this was the first year without him as well. I also lost a friend I will never forget that I knew growing up. (She wasn't a member of the church, so that has been extra hard) All I can say is your dad is looking down on you. I am sure he is smiling and laughing that cute little laugh that he has too. Its okay to miss someone so dear and close to you as he was. The holidays are the hardest but you and so many out there this year who have lost a loved one will get through it by holding on to those great memories you have shared together. I wish I could take the sadness away but just remember you aren't alone. *hugs* to you and your family.
Saturday I shot a Hooded Merganser. This species winters in North America. However, they rarely migrate as far as south Texas. Also, the one I shot has the rare alternate plumage. It was a special day and I plan on having him mounted. He is one of Gods most beautiful creations.
"When a duck hunter gets it all right, the satisfaction is sublime. When he picks the precise spot, fashions a good blind, sets his decoys to look like live ducks on the water, calls convincingly and makes a clean kill … he has reached a high pinnacle of achievement." —Wade Bourne, A Ducks Unlimited Guide to Hunting Dabblers, 2002
Sounds good to me. :) I also believe in so much other things too. But I like me fishing. Like what you wrote down below too by the way. I hope you and your woman are doing good. :)
Hello there, my old friend
Not so long ago, it was 'till the end
We played out side, in the pourin' rain
On our way up the road, we started over again
Livin' the dream, of you on top
My mind is achin', and lord it wont stop
That's how it's happened, livin'
Life by the drop
No waste of time we're allowed today
Churnin' up the past theres no easier way
Times been between us, a means to an end
God its good to be walkin' together my friend
Up and down that road, in our worn out shoes
Talkin' 'bout good things, and singin' the blues
You went your way, and I stayed behind
We both knew, it was just a matter of time
Livin' the dream!
My mind stoped achin'!
That's how it happened livin'
Life by the drop
That's how it happened livin'
Life by the drop
That's how it happened livin'
Life by the drop
