Well today was a good day!
As someone may have pointed out to me that if I checked facebook (pleo, a calendar, etc.) more often I might have realized that yesterday was her birthday. Happy Birthday! A bunch of us went to Skeeters tonight after church and ate together to celebrate.
And this afternoon I got to hang out with Ashlea and Amy and learn all kinds of fun tips on studio photography from Amy. To help us out theseguys stood by and heckled.
It was a lot of fun, I've always had an interest in studio photography but never really taken them time to pursue. It's also been awhile since I really messed with the manual controls on my camera, Amy was probably wondering if I'd ever seen a camera before :) But she is an awesome photographer as you can see on her pleo posts and Ashlea made a great model! These two are pros.
Today at services we got to hear two great sermons by Caleb. He is down here working with our current preacher, who was away at a gospel meeting in Yoakum, TX. His lesson tonight was on repentance and how just saying sorry and that you won't do it again is not the same as repentance. Unless you actually start to make the changes in your life so that you won't do that thing again, you haven't really repented. Anyways, I thought it was good and that is the main point I got out of it. Sorry Caleb if I butchered the main idea there.
Hope everyone else had a wonderful Sunday as well!
hello! I know pictures are coming, hopefully our internet will be back on at the house soon. It seems to have gone on a vacay for the weekend. (so I'm obviously on someone elses computer) Sweet this thing has spellcheck! Anyways a week ago today we were getting ready for bed and I happened to step on an ant. We walked into the bathroom and discovered that it had brought it's whole family! Right into our laundry piles, and yes I am very behind on laundry so there was a decent sized pile. We threw all of the clothes in the bathtub with some laundry detergent to drown them out until we could wash all the loads, sprayed down the bathroom and then tried to go to bed. Except we found more ants in the bedroom, so we sprayed those (there were on a box and on some of Paul's pants which explains why he actually had ants in his pants during church that evening). Now it's somewhere around 2:30 am and we finally get to bed. Until 3 am when the smoke alarm starts beeping. Paul finally dismantled it to find...ants! But these were tiny ants instead of the fire ants that were in our laundry. So anyways kids, just stay at home with your parents forever. No not really, we are still cleaning up the mess and the exterminators should come probably in a week or so, Paul seems to have the problem at bay for now. Okay have to go, bye!
Oh, yech...yes, sometimes home ownership is NOT fun, and soon you realize why your parents know how to handle all those things that come up--they've lived through them! LOL But it's worth it, and you'll have all that valuable knowledge to pass on...
that's funny. Hopefully Paul wasn't serving the Lord's supper or leading singing when he learned of the ants in his pants. Now that would make a good story. Hopefully ya'll will get the ants taken care of soon!
That is so strange! We spent about a week or two fighting with ants in our house. They would only invade our clothes or beds & they moved every day from one room to the next & back again. They never got into our kitchen or our food...go figure! I'm sorry for your troubles, but glad to know that we are not alone!
I was just thinking of Melissa ^ & we just had sugar ants in the kitchen. What is up with these things? I hopw you get them under control soon & some sleep. :)
