so my new job is crazy. period. i have to give kudos to the ppl i work with. i've asked ten million questions, but they keep smiling and answering me!
the trouble will be next week...we have to temporarily (sp?) leave our building and go to a temporary location, which doesn't have much space. so the school's decided that everyone who was hired before January can work from home. us newbies get to work at the temporary place...
which means i don't have a bunch of ppl to bug. us newbies are gonna be on our own. it'll be hilarious - blind leading the blind!
the one big upside: the temp place is in the middle of a big shopping/restaurant area...we're already planning where we're having lunch each day. :)
anyways...as stressful as the work is, the ppl are great, the kids/parents i've talked with are wonderful, and the possibilities with this place are tremendous. i cannot say enough good about the whole bit. God has truly blessed me with His wisdom and wealth. thank you to all who have prayed for me over the past three years--He answered them beyond my wildest dreams.
so...what has been on all of your minds? penny for your thoughts?
that is awesome!! i am sooo glad you like your new job!!! now it's j's turn. tell him all the plants are hiring down here...not that you really want to move now..or have him do shift work.. but it's GREAT money!!
i'll tell j. he's been looking out of state lately for just about anything that pays well. recently he's been applying to colleges in the area that offer tuition help for employees--he figures that way he could get his masters in something else since teaching isn't working out.
Sure you can use the idea. :) It will be several years before we implement it though (Brian needs to graduate, get a career, etc.) Are you planning on reading books on tape any time soon?
Suzuki has a 4wd car that still gets good mileage. Also comes with a long warranty. I was thinking of looking into one till I realized I would be out of warranty within 2 years, so used was better for me.
AWESOME!!!! i'm soooo glad to hear that! dedication and patience really does pay off!! :-D :-D i hope ya'll plan a big celebration for the great new job!! i might just go celebrate for you too!!
so...we finally broke down and got a new(er) car. we had to trade in both of our junks so we're still carpooling together...and j has to work longer hours to cover the payments...which means long hours at work for me. wish i could get overtime.
the first grade has been working on a musical. the intensity of those putting it together is near-broadway level. its kind of scary, in a way. tomorrow's the dress rehearsal...wish us all luck.
our art teacher is putting on a school wide art show tonight. she's been so busy with it...there's art everywhere in the school. i've been helping her by painting replicas of famous portraits. she's cutting the face parts out so kids can stick their faces thru and have their picture taken. it should be cute.
and next week starts my Job class again...i have till Sunday to get the next three lessons written, printed, and ready to hand out. needless to say, between play practice, painting, and painfully long hours at work, my material is not yet finished...
I know how you get into this stuff...it has to do with a work you need to learn when people ask you to do something. It starts with an "N" and ends with an "O". Take a guess at what it is.
thank you very much. a lot around here has changed over the past year, and we're making our way up and out of the "rut" we've been in. hey hey hey.. did i tell you!?!?!? my results came back, and i'm cancer free!!! yay yay yay!!!
the change into a new year isn't really anything special. its based upon an arbitrary man-made calendar...but i still find myself thinking about the past year as something over and looking to the new one as something special.
last year was rough in many ways. alot of stressful things happened...but i find i had more blessings than troubles. just a few that i thank the Lord for...
a supportive husband who takes care of me
health insurance to cover emergency room visits
chocolate
seeing my sister and her new guy, all the way from florida
going to my sister's star wars party, and seeing her in action
talking to my mom about anything and everything
chick-fil-a
having money for christmas gifts
spending time with my artistic sis, who amazes me sometimes
listening to my husband preach
job class
sleep
brand new christmas stuffed penguins
finding a friend in a co-worker
getting to go on a date for no reason whatsoever
snow
hugs from the kids that i work with
being able to post to the world at large...and knowing that there are friends out there who care
you have been a blessing to me this past year. may God grant me many opportunities this year to return the favor.
This year has been hard for us too...I got my Real Estate License in April and haven't made a dime. But I have 16 listings and plenty of showings so something will happen (soon, Lord Willing). We've been living on Brian's $10/hour job (minus taxes & benefits) and he's been going to school full time. We started a vegan diet and I've become a much better cook this year. I've also become more frugal and money-conscious - which is a valuable lesson to learn so early in life... I hope 2008 brings financial security for the first time in our marriage.
HAPPY NEW YEAR!! i hope all of this year is great for you and j!!! maybe he'll finally get that job he's been searching for. karl and i did job changes this past year... so this year is definitely the year for you two!!!
Hey Krystal how are you doing? Sorry I am not very good at keeping in touch. I do email more than blog so if you would like to email becca or I it's kmbach409@hotmail.com or beccabach@aol.com hope to read from ya.
so a week ago, i went to the emergency room with a fever that wouldn't quit. the nurse ran a strep test, which came back positive. they gave me meds...and i thought that was it...
until she returned with another nurse, three vials, and a needle. they decided to test me for mono while they were at it. that came back positive, too.
so...strep and mono. plus surgery not too long ago...i'm wondering if my warantee is still good. i want to turn this body in for a newer model.
what are you all thinking these days? penny for your thoughts?
Oh Krystal, I'm so sorry you have to go through all of this at the same time. I will keeping you in prayer for a speedy recovery!
Have a Happy Thanksgiving!
Sound like C. Diagnosed with hyperthyroid just a couple months before the wedding. Then the following summer to the ER with chest pains, then gall bladder surgery a year and a half ago. At one point she was taking more meds than her 80 year old granddad.
Good luck, hope you can at least take it easy this Thursday and have fun.
BTW, with inflation, you should up rates. A nickel is sounding more reasonable.
Oh man, that stinks. I hope you feel spry again soon. Please take it easy and don't push yourself. I had several friends who got mono in high school and they kept having relapses because they wouldn't slow down.
I'm thinking that we need to get together around New Years again :) Perhaps y'all can come down here this time! We do live in the BIG city now, so there's lots to do :)
