We are having a boy and a girl! I am really excited...as are the girls. Cadence wanted a boy and Meya wanted a girl...so everyone is happy! And the best part is both babies appear to be perfectly healthy. So now we need to wait another 12 weeks or so and meet these little munchkins!!! |

So yesterday was my level II ultrasound...it went better than my fetal echo but still not as we had hoped. We did however find out that Baby A is definitely a boy...she said she was as certain as she could be...so we are really excited about that! My husband is the youngest of 6 and none of his siblings have both boys and girls...they either have boys or girls...so we always figured once our first baby was a girl we wouldn't really ever have a boy...but guess we were wrong:-)
The other baby wouldn't open their legs enough for the tech to be certain but she said she thinks the other baby is indeed a girl. Hopefully when I go back next s/he will cooperate a little more.
And of course because of how close together they are they were not able to look at everything they needed to look again...so I go back again on Monday to see if they can look at all the rest of the anatomy. And as of right now they are 11 and 12 ounces...getting closer and closer to a pound:-)
I am figuring I will end up being the only woman to have 2 35 weekers and then follow up with a full term twin pregnancy...I really think these babies are quite stubborn and have their own agenda! ha ha ha...it's all ok with me.
So that is my short and sweet update. Thanks so much for those of you who are keeping me and these two in your prayers...we really appreciate it. Bed rest will be very difficult with two kids at home so I am praying I can avoid it. Thanks! |

So this afternoon is my Level II ultrasound...so hoping these two babies cooperate enough so that we can find out whether we have boys, girls or one of each. I had a fetal echo on Wednesday because of the diabetes and these two stinkers did not cooperate at all...basically the test ended up being almost useless. She was able to rule out all major heart defects except 1...and none of the minor ones. So this means once these two make their arrival and we are discharged...we have to go right over to the Children's Hospital and have their hearts scanned to make sure everything is fine. And if by some chance we are discharged on a weekend...it makes things even more complicated...so now I can fret and stew about that! HA!
Hopefully today's ultrasound will be more productive and they will behave better because man my skin was almost raw from the one last week...don't really want to do that again just yet! |

My friend Gina found out today that she has non small cell lung cancer and it has spread to two spots on her bone. From what I have found out online that means it is stage 4...which is not really good. She is not even 40 and has two young children...5 and 7. Please pray for her. Tomorrow she has surgery to stabilize her hip where she has two bone voids of 40% and Thursday she meets with the oncologist to find out more information. I am so scared for her...please pray. |

Me and the babies are doing good. I am fighting a nasty sinus infection which is no fun...but baby wise everything is good. I have been on an insulin pump now for about 2 weeks and that has made a HUGE difference in my gestational diabetes. I am hoping it keeps these babies a bit smaller than my 8.5 pounder at 35 weeks...I don't really want to be carrying around 17 pounds of baby:-) I also hope keeping them a smaller size will help me carrying them closer to 35 weeks.
With both of my girls my water broke at 34w6d...how funny is that? And if my body does the same thing again these babies will be Valentine's Day babies...which I think would be adorable. We will have to wait and see.
My doctors right now are fighting with my insurance company trying to get me hooked up with a company called Matria to keep a closer eye on me to monitor for preterm labor and keep closer tabs on the diabetes. But so far my insurance company is refusing...but we'll see.
I am starting to feel these two a little bit more often...can't wait until it is an all the time thing...I love that feeling. oh yeah...we had another ultrasound on Friday and of course the babies swapped roles. Twin A did not cooperate so we were not able to confirm that he is a boy...but this time Twin B did cooperate and the ultrasound tech said she's pretty sure that one is a girl. So...it looks like one of each which is very exciting to me.
As I get further and further along I get a bit more anxious and worried. Once I hit 24 weeks I will calm down a bit because then if I go into labor they can give me shots to help the babies lungs develope...if I were to go into labor now there is nothing they can do. Mind you, I have had no signs of labor but it is just my over active worrying mind. Please pray for me to have peace and not be anxious.
While I am handing out prayer request I have one for my friend Gina. She has two kids...5 and 7...and she has been really sick the last few weeks. It started with pain in her leg and pelvis. They discovered she had multiple cysts on her ovaries and had scheduled her for surgery. Then they discovered in her hip she has two areas where the bone is gone down to only 40%. The orthopedist flat out told her that he thinks she has cancer. Further testing has found a spot on her lungs too...so now she has a biopsy tomorrow for that. If that turns out to be cancer then most likley the bone issues means the cancer has already spread. But so far they can't seem to find anything but she is in incredible amounts of pain and is not allowed to put any pressure on her leg because they are so afraid she will break her hip. Her oldest is also autistic and having a hard time dealing with what is going on. Please keep them in your prayers too.
well I need to go wake up Cadence and get her to the school bus. Have a great day! |
