I have a ballcap with GRITS on it. It stands for "girls raised in the south" ( I guess now it can stand for Gramma.) 20 years combined northern living will never wash the south out of me
Is it really necessary to make others aware of our thanksfulness toward God? Or is that approaching the bounds of self-righteousness (as in the praying Pharisee)?
For me - I have a hard time making public my thankfulness. For one - there are SOOOO many things, if I were to start naming any of them I'd never finish, and I would invariably leave something out that is (to me, at least) on a higher scale than something I did mention. So many things for which I'm thankful are more a matter between God and me, as well as the reasons why.
FWIW - I do see a lot of thankfulness in your blog; definitely more than I see in my own.
They may even have to clear a place on the floor to sit. :)
Thankfulness is a taught behavior. God was continually teaching the Israelites to be thankful. Jesus taught the disciples to be thankful in their prayers. I do think people can show it in ways other than just saying the words, "Thank you".
Yep, that was the show I was referring to. I always hoped as a child that the man would knock on our door some day. We had so little!!! We managed though...and were THANKFUL!
I'm using my legal name so I have more letters (Catherine): Our merciful Father, the example of His perfect Son, the mind of God in the Bible, my hubby, my children, the rest of my physical family, my spiritual family, my fun and fantastic students, and my health!!! :D
...will be at the Carl Perkins Convention Center in Jackson, TN at the Annual USJ Holiday Mart. Starts tonight with a preview from those who want to purchase a $30 ticket. Tomorrow and Saturday 10-7. Sunday noon to 5:00.
If you're in Jackson.......call me I've got a $6 ticket you can have!
It's a fun week-end, but I'm by myself in selling this year! My darlingdaughters will be helping to run the cash register.
We would love to come for Thanksgiving, but my parents will be coming here this year because their house hasn't been repaired from the hurricane. It has no flooring in it. YOU should come HERE for Thanksgiving!
We actually might be in the (rather rough) vicinity, as we're going down to Abalama to see the relatives on Mother's side. However, that means we already have somewhere to be. =)
I would love to come, but we are have the privildge of seeing family. I hope someone does come and share it with you though. We had Thanksgiving alone once, and it was depressing.
Thanks for the invite, wish we could take you up on it. How far is Jackson from Murfreesboro? That's where my folks are. Sorry about your loss. Was she another Italian Greyhound? We lost our greyhound several years ago, and I still miss him. He was a rescue dog and a real sweetheart.
I'm so sorry about Sugar!! :( I know that she was well-loved though, and probably had a better life then most dogs could EVER expect. :) I wish that we could come, but we'll be in Florida for Thanksgiving.
