Hey paul, check out my account for full details on how District went today. Also goodluck to you and Alice, also sorry if i missed your anniversary. Remind me when that is.
Thanx paul, State should be awesome. Not to mention it is inside, and it is AC. Lucas Oil is a dome. It's better being inside seeing as it is 20 degrees outside at max. So i choose inside. We should get back around 9-10 pm on saturday after watching class A. Good luck to you paul and say hi to meliss for me. Bye.
Paul, your from chicago, stop going against the bears. If you want to be a titans fan( sorry but they stink worse than green bay), you'll have to like the bears a little bit. Don't make me send meliss on you. bye, and goodluck. Go BEARS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Just don't diss the bears around me, even if im not there and you know melissa will tell me. So, at least don't say anything like the bears are going to lose. And no, you don't like the Titans just because they're good. I'm not that stupid paul.
I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw the news on Facebook. Foolishly, I quickly picked up the phone and called Jim, not thinking that he was going to be on his honeymoon (hopefully he won't kill me when he visits FC next week :)
The quick version that he gave me is that the wedding was tonight--it was just his family, a few friends, and the preacher (Alyssa's parents consented to the wedding). Now they're on their way to spend the weekend up in Northern Georgia.
Please note: Jim requests that nobody else call him during the honeymoon :)
When we arrived at the Opryland Hotel last Saturday night, I could tell that Alice had a feeling that I was going to be popping the question. Knowing that I had been keeping the ring locked in a safe place (ie: the glove box), she innocently walked away from the car and took a minute or two to survey the area. I followed her and asked, "so, are you trying to get your bearings?" She responded, "are you forgetting anything in the car?" "Nope," I grinned, and then gave her a big hug. "Let's go." (I'd secretly put the ring in my pocket when we changed clothes after Kevin and Karen's wedding).
We first entered into the hotel via the Conference entrance. From there we toured the Delta area, walking along the river (I had planned on going on the Gondola, but I wasn't willing to spend $18 for a short ride). From there, we went up to the second level and toured the restaurants. The one that we chose was called "Stax"--a place that had some of the best burgers I've ever tasted!
After dinner, we headed over to the Cascades atrium. I'd heard a lot about the waterfalls in that area and I figured that there would be at least one good romantic spot to propose...and so I did :) The place I chose was on an upper walkway overlooking several waterfalls. As we circled behind two larger falls, I quickly began scouting out the area to see how many people would be crossing our path in the next minute or so. Trying not to arouse suspicion, I led her back the way we came until we came to a spot which had a great view of the falls. "Paul, what are you doing?" She was totally oblivious as to what was to happen next. I glanced around quickly to make sure no one was coming and then smiled innocently at her. Dropping down on one knee, I said, "Alice, you are the love of my life and my best friend. Will you marry me?" Without any doubt in her mind, she gladly said, "of course I will!" I then had the most amazing kiss and hug in my life :) :) :) After that moment, I don't think that either of us could stop smiling.
The rest of the night was magical. Each new environment that we walked through seemed more and more beautiful: the florescent gardens, the roaring waterfalls, the elaborate fountains...all of them put together created the most amazing atmosphere I've ever known. The best part of that night was holding Alice's hand, occasionally gazing into her breathtakingly beautiful emerald eyes, and realizing that I'm going to be spending the rest of my life with her. I can't wait to get married!
Congratulations to the two of you! I'm a friend of Alice's and so thrilled for you both! I live in Bowling Green, and if it matters at all, would definitely vote for a Nashville wedding. Opryland is an awesome place to propose!
Yes, it was very neat and organized. There was an introduction, then Larry had different sections of like what kind of prayer, song, scriptures, then a prayer for specific things. Ex...growth of the church, saving the lost, the sick, etc.
I agree with you on the Chicago thing, yet their last album...XXX..I THINK...I liked that one better, it wasn't too bad. But I will tell him about the new one. :)
I'm really glad you found my sister, and that hopefully I'll have many more years to get to know you, Lord willing. If there are any questions you have about Alice, LOL, I can supply answers. For a small fee of course...but I'm sure you can handle 6 small payments of 9.99 each month. jk!
So, this past Saturday I was in Athens, AL as a groomsman in their wedding--be sure to tell them congratulations! Following the wedding, Alice and I went up to Nashville and walked around Opryland Hotel for a few hours. After having dinner at a burger place, I then proposed on one of the higher walkways in the Cascades Atrium next to one of the waterfalls.
Right now, we're looking at the 3rd or 4th week next May for our wedding date. Two possible locations may either be in Nashville or at her parent's house.
Well, I've got to get back to work --unfortunately I had to be back in Florida today, so our weekend wasn't as long as we wanted. Still, I couldn't be a happier man right now. I love you!
