So we signed on the dotted line yesterday and are no longer homeowners. We have a CUTE, cozy 1st floor apartment now that will serve as home until we find a house we like.
So now ... we are on the hunt for the perfect house. That sounds tiring!
So they say when it rains it pours ... but sometimes playing in a rainstorm is fun right! So what is on our plate?
1. We were very fortunate and sold our home in 30 days and are closing on October 27th.
2. Nathan and I spent the weekend to find an apartment (since we can't find a house that quickly) and a storage unit to put all of our stuff in.
3. Nathan takes his boards' soon to be offical ... a Nurse Practicioner.
4. We have to find a house by May ..... becuase we will be bringing a baby home then. We are very excited (and I am very sick). Due date is May 14, 2009!
Anyone have any suggestions on dealing with ALL DAY pregnancy sickness?
Congratulations!!! This is Ashley (Pope) Metcalf. I am so happy for ya'll. I have been thinking of ya'll a lot lately and can't believe that you live not too far from me. I miss you! I hope that we can see each other sometime soon. It's been years.
Has your doctor tried uping the dose of zofran? Maybe that would help - at least it did with me when I was pregnant with Logan. I can still remember introducing the two of you. I knew Nathan was "in love" the first time he told me about your first date. Seems like it was just yesterday! =)
I love the name Lauren!! I have tears in my eyes just thinking about your sweet baby. You will make wonderful parents. We need to all meet sometime. It's been toooooooo long!
You just brought the biggest smile to my face!! Congratulations. As for the sickness, my best advice is to eat small bits of carbs every couple of hours. (Like a granola bar, or something like that.)
Oh, I forgot to tell you that we saw your mother-in-law a few weeks ago. We were visiting at West Side Aurora one Sunday evening and met her. Your father in law wasn't there - he had gone to a game, maybe? With Nathan? I don't remember....
Thanks Kendra. So, here goes... If I tag you please play along. I am supposed to list 8 random/interesting facts about myself and then tag 8 more people.
1. My dream job would be to work in a bakery. There is something about the finished product, making a customer’s dream become a reality, and licking my fingers that makes me so happy! I have realized that have a job you go to every day that you dread just isn’t a good way to live.
2. I am an organizational freak. Name something in my house and I can tell you what room, what part of the room, what drawer, and in what cubby it is located. If Nathan moves something or doesn’t put it back in the right spot, I know it right away. (my closet is even organized by type of item, and then in color order).
3. If I could visit anywhere in the world, it would be Australia (or New Zealand). But I do not do good with time change or differences in food … I might have a problem.
4. I will negotiate on any price at any place (including garage sales)! This seems to embarrass some, but you can’t imagine how many pieces of free dessert, a free item, or a lower amount I have gotten on things.
5. I love to sleep …. And I sleep hard. But with Nathan’s career and being on call, I have been told that I can answer the phone at 2 am and sound like I have been awake all day.
6. I have never worked fast food in my life.
7. A holiday that has fireworks are my favorite. There is just something about all of the colors and the loud noises from the sky.
8. I am an extrovert. Put me in a room with a locked door and a book and I will go nuts. Put me in a crowded room and I can talk for hours!
Now I tag,
Mom (Lejuana)
Tyra
Audrey
Jenn K
Aimee
Lydia

Mandie C.
At 7:15 am on Tuesay 9.2 I am going in for surgery ... the formal term is decompression of the ulnar nerve at the elbow. In laymens terms ... my right hand is numb and they think it is becuase I have had trauma to the "funny bone" in my elbow. So we will see if surgery helps.
Of course, it is my dominant hand that I do EVERYTHING with. So I will try to get on and type one handed ......
The good thing is I am off of work for the week and Nathan has agreed to do ALL of the cooking and cleaning. Yippee!!!!
-----------------------------------------
9.2 at 10:30 am - Surgery was cancelled due to some findings on lab test .... should be able to postpone for a week or two. That menas I am back to work on Wednesday.
Aww you updated your picture :) Sorry that htey had to post pone your procedure.. Hopefully the finidng will make for a better success of getting you problem solved? :)
After 7 years of schooling, Nathan has finished his graduate degree. With the exception of one semester (including summers), he has been in school for the SOLID 7 years since we married in July 2001.
Friday night (8/8/08) were the big ceremonies, even though we opted to stay home and watch the Olympics instead. He worked on his paperwork this weekend to get registered with the state and starting September 15, 2008, Nathan will start in his new role as a pediatric orthopedic nurse practicioner.
It has been a long journey .... but we have finally overcome! And yes, I say WE. I didn't have to study or take the tests, but I feel like we have both been in school!
Congrats to you both! You may not have taken the test but you both have made many sacrifices to accomplish this goal. So proud of him! I hope he loves his new job!
When Dan finished at Alabama, his parents gave me a gift instead of him because I had worked to put him through college. How cool was that?!?!?!? Just putting a bug in your ear. hahah
a brand new toyota highlander...pearly white. love it! you are both in our prayers every day. we know God will strengthen you and help you through everything. we missed you today.
Hi Rachel. It was nice to meet you yesterday. We did the school thing for a LOOOONG time with my dh, Toby. He didn't go nonstop, but just finished 3 years ago--what a relief for everyone!! Enjoy the "free time" together!
