Photo hosting advice 10-27-08 11:09am CST
Would anyone share his thoughts about photo hosting sites? I am currently enamored with picasaweb for its easy tagging capabilities (cool technology that groups like faces together to tag several pictures at once), but I'm still "shopping around" and weighing the pros and cons.

Any others sites I ought to consider? Pros/cons? Thanks.
mjintexasI like Picasa.
angelaI use Flickr.
crysnrobI use Flickr and MobileMe when I want to make a fancy web album!
planetheadI use picasa and like the web side of it particularly.
raifhaus:(
I thought you were currently enamored with me.
oldrupert^^ Think D needs to chose his words more carefully? :)
deusvitaeWe use Flickr.
loveofjebsYea, are you coming by. You know you are welcome. We may have visitors from the states then too.
nonniiamSusan's not on here frequently either :) this is Marilyn.
sharonI like picasa!
carpecollumI like Flickr. It has several easy ways to upload pics, auto-sizes for you, and you can easily make certain sets and single pictures private or public. I have not used Picasa for the web, though I usually love anything made by Google.
nottoscale"[A] high viscosity magma will create a tall volcano, because it cannot spread fast enough; low viscosity lava will create a shield volcano, which is large and wide."
-from the Wikipedia page on Viscosity. Apparently you've got some high-viscosity magma in the neighborhood!
sweetiepiesmomWaiting for a hug!
tweedledeeHahaha... meany!! Just kidding. Hope you all are doing well and hoping to see you soon1
jamiemmoonlooking forward to your visit
grannyIf there is a possibility you guys will be getting into Livingston before dark on Dec 6, oh, please, please let us know, as it looks like you arrive the night before we begin our travels in Texas.

nottoscaleYour pictures are like Paul Harvey's "The rest of the story". Always look forward to seeing the "bigger picture" when I click.
leyvaleyvaoh how wonderful!
raifhausI'm so glad we have a camera :)
raifhausHowever, some of these photos are not my favorites... for various matters of personal pride...
(nobody was ever supposed to know about the ankle socks, my childrens' behaviour on the front row, etc...!!)
raifhausThis is cool-

mjintexasLove the pictures, David! Thank you for sharing!
laughing_eyeswonderful! :)
jamiemmooninteresting ...thanks.
angelaIt does my heart good to see so many pictures of people being baptized! Thank you for all the seeds your family are sowing in Guatemala.

Another translation challenge... 09-29-08 11:21am CST
For whom did I prepare?

Too bad they didn't show.

stinajehovas(sp?) witnesses??
dbsmelseryep. and if even i can figure that out, you need to make some of your challenges more difficult! :)
mjintexasYou look downright mischievous.
tweedledeeNice sermon and good handwriting! =D
raifhausHey, but if it weren't for JWs, our girls wouldn't be allowed to take the two JW's kids spots at the school festival tomorrow!
laughing_eyesAmazingly, I can understand some of this!
jamiemmoonso who is Soy?
tom_bombadilI understood the spanish - for a second, I thought the greek was trigonometry, then I read it. Looks like you're enjoying it!
jamiemmoon"Yo, Soy...what up?"
grannythats a fine looking board. Ummm, and the fellow beside it, too! BTW, you would definitely be grabbed to wash a sink full of dishes!
raifhausIt is a fine looking board! David salvaged the white board material, and Benito, a brother here, made the frame.
jamiemmoonthe finsh on the frame looks so pretty.
dbsmelserlol...but I'm interpreting "soy" to be "am" as in "I am"
weekendsongservicehey, i have a question fer ya! check your eMail.
jabberwockHey! Didn't know you were on here. Sadly, my book-binging days are over. It's the library for me, unless some kind in-law gives me a Barnes & Noble gift card. How's life in Guatemala treating you?
jrhudginsHey that's an excellent argument on that point. You might throw in John 14:2 with that as well--"if it were not so, I would have told you". I'm sure you'll have another chance with the testigos.
raifhausI love you! Would you mind if I had a cup of your coffee???
aprilstarrHm, I understand the bit of Greek there more than the Spanish. Probably because I don't know Spanish. Yep, that must be it.

Only for those with a keen sense of humor... 09-24-08 10:27am CST
This is the first joke that actually stuck with me in Spanish.

Jerónimo: ¿Qué pasa cuando se tira un pato en el lago?
David: Hmm...ahh...no sé, hermano.
Jerónimo: Nada.

Translation Update:
A joke is never as funny when you have to explain it...but maybe it wasn't funny in the first place. Here is translation for those still pondering.

Jerónimo: What happens when you throw a duck a lake?
David: Hmm...ahh...I don't know brother.
Jerónimo: Nothing (alternate translation of "nada": It swims.)
mjintexasif only i got it. :)
dr_wormHaha. I had some help though.
carolynI get it. I got a translator. She said "It's not a joke!"
stinaha!
raifhausI get it! I like it :D
missyIs it, (highlight)"What happens if you throw a duck in a lake?" "Nothing?"
raifhausMissy, look for a double meaning in the one word punchline.
goatherdessI don't get it. I need help.
jenkegleyNo comprende
platolol
mirrorjranchHa!
angelaHee-hee. I get it after seeing the double meaning!
laughing_eyesI still love S's drawing of you :)
laughing_eyesAnd I need to get babelfish to help with part of the translation
mrs_wormI don't see the double meaning!!
tweedledeeQue terrible!! lol! Estoy reyendo!
grannyWell, I didn't get the joke, but I surely enjoyed your visit. And I'm still laughing about your longanizas. You should hear about some of your uncle Dave's... Your wife will never let you live it down and your aunt won't either.
nottoscaleI finally get it. I hope the duck isn't as lame as the joke...
goatherdessOOOH! I was telling this joke to people in English, then asking them, "do you understand how this is a joke?? I can't figure it out!" I see the double meaning now. That's much funnier :)
