Yeah this is my first. We are so excited but also very scared as we know it's a huge responsibility. My morning sickness hasn't been too bad recently. Hope that you get feeling better soon!
What a thoughtful hubby you have! I'm sure too when you have little ones already, it's even harder to deal with morning sickness. Sure hope it passes soon. I've joined a Practical Herbal (pretty sure it's that - don't have a lot of groups on my site) group. It may have something on morning sickness.
I've not personally checked as there would be no need for me because pregnancy is definitely not in my future! I'll just love everyone else's!
Hi Rachel! Years ago a friend gave me a book titled Amish Folk Medicine. It has a section titled MORNING SICKNESS & NAUSEA with 6 entries.
1. Eat 2 T. brewer's yeast, extra iron, bone meal, and vitamin E daily.
2. To stop nausea, drink a tea made from one (only!!) peach leaf.
3. Drink red raspberry tea.
4. Eat a few soda crackers about 15 minutes before getting out of bed. Eat small amounts of crackers throughout the day to settle the stomach.
5. Eat one cup of yogurt in the evening before retiring.
6. For the nausea or morning sickness of pregnancy, drink a tea made from red raspberry, spearmint leaf, alfalfa leaf, lemon verbina, lemon balm, nettle leaf, fennel seed, lemon grass leaf, and stevia leaf.
Wonder if they work? Some of the ingredients, like bone meal, where would one find it? I don't even know what it is! Take care!
So I called my mom and she said: "RACHEL LEE!"
Cassie (sister) laughed at me.
Patty (sister) was excited but was worried.
We were called crazy by a lot of people, but received lots of Congratulations.
Why? Because Bryan and I are now expecting our fourth child!!
Normally we would try to figure out whether its a girl or a boy; but not this time. Now we are trying to figure out how many!?!
Wait a minute...I just looked at your comment(s) again. You say 4th child, but then you say trying to figure out how many. Does this mean you're expecting twins or thinking about how many more children you want to have after baby #4???
I have to say that I laughed to when I read that too:) I would imagine that everyone in your family was quite surprised. Congratulations to both you and Brian!!!!! That is great!! It would be unbelievable if you did have more twins. I know that is probably not something that you are hoping for though. Do you know the due date yet? I hope that all goes well with the pregnancy. Your parents are having grandkids left and right. I'm sure they are okay with that though :)
When will they do an ultrasound? I have an aunt & uncle who are twins. They were my grandmother's last pregnancy, following 8 children! 7 of those were boys. Years later one of the 7 older boys (not my dad!) had twin boys.
That is great news. I hope you have an unsick pregnancy and things go well as you cope with 3 little ones in the next few months. When is the baby due?
The trip was lots of fun, but it went by so fast. I wish we could have stayed longer. When do you find out if you are having a boy or a girl or more :)
I have lived in 4 different states(AZ-IN-CA-NV), and Las Vegas has some pretty bad drivers; the worst at running red lights. However, when it comes to driving in school zones Las Vegas drivers keep to the law. Our school zones are usually 15/25 mph while school is in session (which is 15-25 mph under what is the regular speed limit)
I was driving in a school zone today and thought of this story that happened a while ago:
Bryan and I were driving and I noticed that we were in a school zone and told Bryan to slow down. Bryan mentioned that the sign said "When Children are present". Which surprised me, since the school was right there and we usually have to slow down anyway. As I corrected myself, my daughter piped up and said, "We are present. We're right behind you". :-) So, I guess we were corrected again!
Kids will definitely keep you in line! LOL When we lived in Texas, I had to go through the school zone to get to work. I was running late and wasn't paying attention. I was going 25 mph and the limit was 10 mph! Needless to say I got pulled over by the policeman. I didn't receive a ticket but a warning. That was the only time I have ever been pulled over by a policeman. I learned then that the police are very strict when it is a school zone. If only they were that way everywhere!
You seriously need to put a book together of all the "funnies" Katrina says! She is hilarious!! I still crack up about the Romeo and Juliet story. You should submit that one to reader's digest!!
I can't imagine not having grass in the yard. I have seen some beautifully landscaped yards though in the desert. It would just take a little getting used to.
i'm not sure if i told you or not but danielle (my daughter) and aaron (your cousin) are dating. they are so cute. also, your uncle arnie is turning 60 this year. his birthday is in december! i just realized you have a regular email address i could send some info to about his birthday! your daughter sounds adorable.
Sunday afternoon, I took the children with a friend of mine to the play, Romeo & Juliet. It was a free play at the park; so the acting wasn't the best, which was fine. It was still great to get out and it was educational for all us.
At the death scene of Romeo and Juliet...
Romeo dies.
Katrina: "What's happening"
Lori (my friend): "Romeo just died"
Juliet awakes from her sleep: "Oh, Romeo, where are you?"
Katrina (yelling): "HE'S DEAD!"
So, I have learned that my four year old is paying attention; and still knows how to make her mother blush :-)
LOL...shes a doll. My one and a half year old can already make be blush. There was an child crying during services the other day, and it took the parents quite a while to take him out. Hunter turned around and looked at me...clapped his hands and yelled "spank!"
Thanks for the information! I hate purchasing something w/o seeing it first! I am a very hands on kind of person when it comes to picking out books and teaching material. Thanks for the websites though...I will have to check them out!
Hi Rachel - I saw your name and where you are from on Rebecca's page. A family from here recently moved the area. He's in the Air Force. They are the Hofmanns with a boy and a girl. (I'm in Warner Robins GA.) Have you met them? I don't know if there's more than one congregation there or not. I'm also not sure where they live, so that probably makes a difference. Have a good Lord's day!
Hi again - thanks for sending me your email. For some reason on my computer screen when I go to your site, the email is not there. I've seen it listed on various people's site. Really odd! Your children are so cute! I told Bryan I like the story of your two-year old when he was preaching!
