So people have started trying to get Ron to run for Texas Governor in 2010. They asked him about this in an interview the other day and he said it would be a bad idea because he would try to get Texas to secede from the Union lol. I love me some Ron Paul!
Those who know me know that I have made no qualms in expressing my dissatisifaction with the candidates we were given in this election. The Dems could have done better than Obama, the Repubs could have done better than McCain and the libertarians definitely could have done better than Bob Barr. But anyway, this was the first election that I actually actively participated in and so I wanted to find the one thing that I found the most important of the entire cycle, and I think I got it.
This was the most important thing to happen for the liberty movement, Ron winning this debate put him on the national scene. To me this was the most important moment of this election.
I agree, there's no excuse on either side for that kind of behavior. Just to clarify though, the point to the post that I got the video from is this: this kind of activity is generally tolerated by the media in the US if dem supporters do it, but when a rep supporter does it, it's like he just shot the pope. Bad stuff happens on both sides, but you generally only hear about it in mainstream media if a rep does it.
AL QUEDA! That's right, the terrorist group Al Queda supports John McCain for president. They believe that he will continue the failed war policies of George Bush so that not only can they continue to target our men over on their soil, but they can wreck our economy with endless spending on endless wars where we don't even know our enemy. And McCain will continue that. Here is the Washington Post story....
The US is poor? Compared to who? Poor people (according to the government's definition of 'poor') have cable tv, multiple tv's/vehicles/computers/etc., more luxuries than most people in the world can dream of...and we are too poor? I can't figure that one out.
Good points. As for not real wealth but borrowing, my point is that if you can't afford it, you shouldn't be buying it. If you buy it, and can afford it, that's one thing. If you can pay for material things like extra cars, tv's, etc., you aren't 'poor' compared to people in other countries who can't even afford food. To me, that's poor.
