Well the trip to Hawaii is over :( but it was a lot of fun and I got to see my family for the first time in a couple months. It rained a whole lot for the first few days. The normal rainfall there is 20 inches a year and we got 5 inches the first 3 days we were there! It cleared up for the rest of the trip though.
oh and maybe a some waves and a surf board and a pineapple and a ... real beach bum and a little key chain that has my name on it in Hawaiian (Palanakonu ?) I think is it....hahaa I'm jk about this... except the beach bum part....
Hmm...last update 7-06-07. I guess quite a bit has happened since then.
It's amazing how much things can change in just over a year. When I last wrote on here, I was about to move 5000 miles away from my family to a city where I knew, at most, 5 people. I had always wanted to go to A&M, so I knew it was the place for me, but I had no idea what to expect. I didn't know anything about the church, what the college group was like, if I was going to be able to handle the work load at school, or what it would be like living away from my parents (especially with them being in another country). All I knew was that I had God with me. And in the end that's all that really matters.
A year and a half later, everything I prayed for before coming to college wouldn't even compare to what I've been blessed with. I don't think I'll ever find a better group of Christians than those at Twin City, I'm rooming with 3 awesome guys, have a ton of great friends, I've been doing really well in my classes (even though this semester has been ridiculously hard!), and I'm having a blast living away from home (sorry mom and dad). True, college has had plenty of it's down times as well, but it's probably because I worry way too much rather than just trusting God.
I guess that was kind of deep for an update after being away so long, but that pretty much sums up my last year in a few sentences, as well as this verse...
Ephesians 3:20-21 "Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen."
Well, a couple days ago we went to a meeting AGAIN to talk about the scheduled date for moving out to our new compound. They have been promising us for over a year that the move in date would be just around the corner, but everytime they have moved the date back. They told us this time that they still need to get the flooring in, and they may have it installed by around July 20 or so. So wish us luck that we can move in soon and Ill actually get to be there for 10 days before I head back to the states lol.
hmmm only a year ago?... I thought that they told us 3 yrs ago that It would be done??? Hey do you know anything yet about if they are going to be getting the food out at olympia soon?
Just droppin in to say I got back safely to Russia. Im bored already so Im trying to come up with some things to do. The weather is really nice now so maybe Ill actually get out of the house and exercise, which Im in bad need of because after going running today I realized Im in horrible shape. Hopefully we'll move into our new compound in July (though its looking like it might be delayed)...nothing better than moving boxes for a week to cure your boredom :) Ive also found a really awesome guitar song that Im practicing, so that should keep me busy for a while. Any other suggestions lol? Anyways, Im really looking forward to going to A&M in august. Gig'em!
