spontaneous trip to san diego yesterday for only 5 hrs: unexpected, fun, exhausting. and, i think, needed.
sometimes, some friends are worth it.
one of these days, posts about africa will come.
now it's off to a girls dinner. after that? BED. why you may ask? well i don't function well on less than 10 hrs. of sleep and last i checked 5.5 hrs. is 4.5 short of my standard. AND because tomorrow, in the words of a lovely friend, i can legally rent a car. and that's just weird.
here's to being in a good spot and still not settling.
*love*

i have very mixed feelings about being home right now. i would elaborate, but 1 - i'm not sure i want to and 2 - my body doesn't quite know which timezone it's truly in (african, new york, californian). therefore, i'm sleepy. waaaaay sleepy. and elaborating doesn't happen when i'm sleepy. at least not coherently.
tonight's softball game should be interesting. i'll either play the same or completely awful. i'm hoping for completely awful so that this time i'll have a good excuse. because, obviously, going to africa is a totally rational/logical excuse for playing sucky softball.
i definitely will elaborate on our trip but, again, elaborating happens only when sleep has been plentiful.
God is amazing.

i'm finally here. alive, well, excited and in awe.
some highlights that will get some serious detail attention later...
things i've already experienced:
arriving in the ghana airport.
the house i'm staying in.
living conditions.
traffic/driving/roads.
dennis, our driver.
the market.
snails.
things i will get to experience:
2 beach resorts, possibly 3.
canopy walk
mole national park, which includes a mini car and foot safari.
pink panther hotel.
kumasi art center.
the american embassy
waterfalls.
maybe a stilt village.
the city of accra in ghana (where i'm staying) is so inconsistent, sometimes i just stare in disbelief. the ghanain people want (and try) so badly to be westernized. but they just don't get it. but they try. i've only been here 3 days and hardly done anything major but i'm amazed. i'm pretty sure i could tour just the city of accra for 3 weeks and be just as thrilled with my trip here. but i'm blessed. and God is good. so there is much, much more to come.
talk to Him.
