We like the "50 States that Rhyme." There is a youtube clip of it. The video is dull...black background with states on it...but the sudio is fun. Lydia almost knows the entire thing.
My favorite homeschool book has been the Well-Trained Mind. The other couple I've read are not worth recommending, but still had some value to them. Right now I am reading Jim Trelease's Read-Along Handbook. It is really good.
wouldn't it be cheaper to go to the dollar store and buy some applesauce baby food? I'm sure you wouldn't have to ask your husband twice for help cleaning them out. :) mmm applesauce yum!
Hmm, I just threw some away. Sorry! I might be able to save them for awhile ... when do you need them by? Oh, and I put the dump cake recipe on your blog a couple posts ago, but I think it was right before you updated, so I thought I would tell you in case you missed it. :)
that's funny!! i used to have SO many that i would use for teaching and i kept some that i am using, but i need them to make sand bottles in the 2yr old class!!
Ha ha! You're the one who taught me that baby food was not necessary. :) I'll never forget you handing Judah green bean casserole at 7 months old. As soon as Charlotte tried it we could never go back! :)
And I so wish we could all hang out, too. Even though we didn't get to see you guys so much the last year or so just knowing that we can't if we want to makes me miss you! :)
No, actually YOU are the best. You have this graceful energy pouring forth from every direction and I love it. So, tonight I have been thinking so much about how i need to tell your mom what a wonderful job she did in raising you. I KNOW she spent countless hours teaching you how to prepare for being hospitable. You kept everything warm the WHOLE time somehow and everything is always just right and tasty. You are so sweet to provide the meal. Now we owe you again! I loved your friends. I really do want her number and I will just call her once or so and try to find a date that would work for them to come over (with you guys, too, of course!) and see how else I could help her out. They both seemed to really enjoy themselves! Sorry if I spoke too much...I always do! I was so glad to find out that she believes in our GOD and JESUS. Now, that was half the battle!! ;)
you could email it to me on my yahoo account IF you get a chance!! I am hoping you are sleeping right now! PLEASE be so careful and tell everyone hello!! Those are all wonderful people you are getting to see!!!!
Sarah, thanks for the Raggedy Ann and Andy mugs. They are washed and in the cabinet, so when you are down and want some hot tea, you will be all set with a nice new mug!!! Enjoyed your visit.
making colby's lunch for tomorrow was easy! chicken, asparagus, taters and salad....thanks to you! ;) we will have that for lunch tomorrow, too! ;) it saved me a trip to the store late tonight, too bc i am out of pb, bread, lunch meat, cheese, and such. so, we will have a GOOD meal tomorrow! ;) hope you are having fun!
It was so good to see y'all last weekend Sarah! I absolutely adore your kids! I hope y'all are settling in well in Austin. I'm so glad y'all are going to be closer!
Oh, it's so sad to tell my parents good-bye. So sad to wave them down the driveway and come back to the empty room where we were visiting minutes ago. I hope one day we'll live a little closer together.
But, on the positive side, I have been on my own with FOUR children for almost two hours now and nothing catastrophic has happened. One of them is even asleep.
Also on the positive side, I have my sweet little Phoebe-Blossom snuggled in her Boppy on the couch beside me. She is wide awake and looking around. I think she's enjoying the sunshine and the wind chimes just outside the window.
Lydia and Joseph have been having quiet time in separate beds, but I'm about to turn them loose and see if we can get some school work done.
I know how it feels. We're about in opposite areas (you are in TN and my parents are in IN, and I and your parents are in TX!). Hang in there. I'm glad things are going well in your family!
I'm so glad at least the first 2 hours went well. :) And I second or third...or fourth...the request for picture! I want to see more of your little Blossom!
I remember being so scared to be with the 3 for the first time! Isn't it amazing though how natural it feels after awhile? My mom is an hour away and it's too far. Hope you're havign a good day! You seem to be doing amazingly well!
Hi Sarah! My sister-in-law is Missyaggie. She told me that you are moving to Austin! Yay! You will love it here! Let me know if you need anything - info on where to live maybe? (South Austin right by me sounds good!) Do you homeschool your kids? (It sounded like maybe you did in your post). Anyway, if you do, we do too! Can't wait to meet you!
She said you were moving to my last home. If you need info about the congregations, email me at srf61@comcast.net. I LOVED the congregation that we were part of. It's a great family! It's on the north side of the city, so it might depend on where you live. It has lots of kids. There are atleast ten of fifteen people on here from that congregation, too. Look forward to hearing from you. :)
HOwdy! I am another sister-in-law of missyaggie. We attend church in San Marcos which is just a few minutes south of Austin. Debbie and her family attend with us, so you may want to check us out (depending on what part of Austin you are in, of course). Anyway, welcome to Texas!
I like your quote up there in the corner...and I like finding you on pleonast. We worked camp together many many years ago. You certainly have a beutiful family. Tell your mom and dad hello for me. And let him know that there are still H-A-PP-Y campers all around Texas because of him.
Hi Sarah! This is Debbie from the church in Round Rock! I happened across your blog so I've added you to my friends list. I hope you'll add me to yours, since I see you're private! :)
When my sister-in-law, Gloria, was here, she was telling me about Christians in Zimbabwe that are enduring a terrible famine. She said that it is so bad that mothers are feeding their children sand because there is just nothing else to give them. Gloria said that the best way they have found to send food was to get a $37 flat rate box from the Post Office (some sort of international Priority Mail rate, I think) and fill it with dried goods like beans, rice, evaporated milk and anything else that can be prepared with water. She said that packages can be sent directly to the Christians there and she can get you addresses if you are interested in helping.
I just wanted to get this news out there. I had no idea that things were so bad and I knew that other people would probably want to help if they knew, too. Let Gloria know if you need more details or addresses.
I don't really know how to phrase this, but is your sister-in-law or her husband rather involved with the work in Zimbabwe? From my experince flat rate boxes can be sent all over the world for the flat rate regardless of the weight.
I will be praying for you, Sarah. You are a good mom and I know that this new little one will be coming home to some wonderful little people just waiting to love her!
I enjoy reading your post, I'm C Legg's sister and I live in Alabama. Do you mind adding me to your list? Tell your family in Ala "hello" for me. Thanks!
Hey, Sarah -- I'm a friend of Tim and April's (met you and your little ones at their rehearsal dinner) and I occasionally come over to catch up on Knoxville news! May I be added to your friends list?
