Mom's mean. 10-25-08 11:53am EST
I woke up this morning and was told to "get down!" all three times that I tried to get into bed with Mom and Dad. So I came downstairs to lay on the couch instead. That'll show them.

When Mom got up, I was super excited! I ran up the stairs and down the stairs and up the stairs half way and down the stairs and up the stairs a quarter of the way and down the stairs... and Mom told me "Shhhhhh.." which means to settle down. Well, I was too excited to do that!

She sent me out my little door to "go out"... but I couldn't bear to stay out there away from her long enough to go out... so I came back in. Then Mom locked me out! See, I told you she was mean. She made me stay out there a whole 3 minutes. Which is, as you know, 21 minutes in Dog Time. Mean!

But I forgave her when she let me back in and I ran around and jumped on her and stood on her when she sat down and tried to run upstairs to say hi to Dad... and she would let me have no fun at all! She kept telling me "Shhhhhh". Then she threatened to kill me if I didn't "settle down", whatever that means. Mean!

So now I'm just sitting here next to Mom looking sad and mopey. She'll feel bad for me soon and try to make me cheer up by making a face at me, or grabbing my nose, or blowing in my face to make me try to get her nose. She'll see. She'll be nice!

Ooh, I heard something outside! I better go investigate!

It was nothing. It's boring out there and the sun hasn't been out long enough to make it warm yet.

Our new house is cool. So is my sheep. I try to play nice with it. Sometimes Mom or Dad have to remind me "no chew" so I don't try to eat it's ears off or rip it's head open. They won't play tug of war with me with Sheep either. I love my sheep.

The new house though... mom and dad call the upstairs part a "loft." Sometimes I go up there by myself (with my sheep, of course) to play. It's really confusing up there. Sometimes I go to the bars and can look down at Mom and Dad and hear them talking. And I can't figure out how to go see them! It really upsets me and sometimes I start crying. Then Mom reminds me "Scamp sweetie, go down the stairs," and I remember how to get to them after that. It can be upsetting, but Mom takes care of me. ... even though she's mean sometimes!

I think it may be warm enough to go outside and lay in the sun! C'mon, Sheep!
trevaesaMean, huh? You're the one that tries to eat your sheep.

Squirly Squirrel 03-06-08 03:16pm EST
Just so you all know, to Mom's complete confusion nearing consternation, this is my favorite color. She and Dad say that I act like a boy. And maybe I have a beard, maybe I sleep all day and snore all of the time... but I'm a girl!

Anyway, now that I have that off of my rather hairy chest...

I have to tell you about this terrible thing that happened.

It was a normal Saturday... I had slept most of the day, had been interrupted a few times by Mom and Dad trying to pet me or play. I'd "gone out" a few times, had been given a few ice cubes (they're my favorite! Aside from bugs, crumbs, table scraps, food... okay, so I eat whatever I can. But I like ice cubes!

Anyway, I woke up from my third nap and Mom let me outside. I innocently walked out onto the back deck, simply enjoying the beautiful day outside. That's when I saw her.

There she was in my yard eating my walnut. A squirrel - In my own back yard! Have they no respect or decency?? I don't climb their trees, so why are they in my yard eating my walnut!

So naturally, I did what any dog would do... I quietly crouched down to my belly and did an army crawl to the end of the deck - so the squirrel couldn't see me, you know. Then I took off across the yard to catch the squirrel! Of course now the squirrel wanted to go back to her tree... so I tried to climb the tree, too, to give her a taste of her own medicine. And she started squeaking at me! Well... let's just say I "decided" not to climb the tree... I needed a new tactic... so I went to the opposite corner of the yard.

Well guess what Miss Squirly Squirrel decided to do while I was.. uhm... going out... She came back down from her tree into my yard and started to eat my walnut again! Only this time, she was flipping her tail at me, taunting me!

So of course, dauntless and fearsome creature that I am, I took off across the yard after her again. And of course, she chickened out and ran up her tree again. Except this time, she only climbed up about 3 feet. She had apparently hadn't assessed that I'm three feet tall when I'm standing up like Mom and Dad... and she was just in reach!

As I jumped up to grab my walnut back from her, she ran around to the other side of the tree. So, naturally, I followed her around to the other side... and she moved back to the other side! So we started going in circles. And she had the nerve to keep flicking her tail at me and squeaking at me!

Well... I'm so very in shape and in touch with my healthy side that I though I should just give it a break for the time being. I figured after I'd had another ice cube and a nap, I'd be much better fit to handle this awful creature. So I went to the other corner of the yard, contemplating how best to get the squirrel. The squirrel came back down from the tree and continued feasting on my walnut. It's a good thing Mom called me in when she did - I was about to tear that squirrel apart, no doubt.

I'll get her this summer. No squirrel is allowed into my yard, and no squirrel is allowed to feast on my walnuts!

SQUIRRELS, BE YE WARNED!

meditationisScampster! Hi! That's a great picture of you! You look sooo grown up. My girls -- Inky, Keeper, and Fuzzy -- are right with you on the squirrel thing. They work as a team to rid the backyard of squirrels. And those squirrels are tail-flippers too! I bet your squirrels and our squirrels are related.
missynopetHahaha. Nice Scamp.
ummmm_okhow do you keep typing all these long posts? whenever i was around, you didn't anything THAT cool. I mean, you were still cool, just not THAT cool.
