I made the switch! 07-22-08 01:21pm CST
I'm gold now! What fun! The girls are in their second week of swimming lessons and loving it! Now I can post some pictures of them! :) We are getting ready for our Youth Lectures which begin on Friday. This is a wonderful time at Westside where our building will have around 500 or so young and older people to worship and sing praises to God! It's such an encouraging event!
We are thinking about having our floors redone in our living room and hallways. We are looking at hardwood floors right now but trying to decide what is the right color. Do we try to match the furniture or the cabinets that are in the kitchen. Does anyone have any advice on that? I don't want to go to dark because I think it would make the room look small. Oh decisions... decisions!
pogwolly0613The receptionist this morning said, "Why don't you want to schedule your appointment? It'll be okay!" I said, "That was just about the least fun I ever had when I got the first one-- I'm not real anxious to repeat the process!" Congratulations on the gold.

Where is the Westside that you go to?
hdwe are in the same boat about the floors.
txwhittlecYou are gold! That's great! I am excited to see how your hard wood floors look! Have fun at Youth Lectures. We'll miss being there this year. :(
sharonI love gold!

How fun to have the floors redone. You'll have to share pictures!
texasdadI've recently done remodling on the house in ABQ. If you are going to keep the cabinets match the cabinets. Furniture comes and goes but the cabinets generally do not. If you are going to change the cabinets out you will have to pick the colors for both.

You probably have more decisions to make now.

BTW, we picked cherry and LOVED the color!
pogwolly0613Ah, Westside in Irving. When we were in W'ford in April we attended Westside in Ft. Worth where Stan Cox preaches. I was just hoping I hadn't missed y'all!
neentothebeanHardwood floors will be so nice!!
Enjoy the lectures:)
rebekah1Match the cabinets. Furniture may change. It's a lot less likely your cabinets will.
rebekah1Whoops... somebody already said that^
jennifer_mannThanks for your message. I just read your msg about Kerry. Do you happen to have her address so I can send a card? You can email me at my personal email - jen.mann@comcast.net
mandaoHey this is Amanda O'Banion. Did you hubby make it thorough the lay offs at Bell? Tim just said they laid off 500 in our area and Alicia and I were talking and she said Dale worked at Bell. I really hope he wasn't touched!
lydiasmotherHappy birthday to you!!! happy birthday to you!!! Enjoy your day!

What's New 07-10-08 09:35pm CST
Ok my back has gone out on me again.. so now I'm seeing a chiropractor on a regular basis....I never thought I would ever do that but he has really helped me! I'm a believer! :)

My sister and family are getting ready to leave us...forever and we still just can't believe they are leaving! :( At least she will get to clean my teeth one more time before she leaves!

I'm daily trying to find new things for the kids to do so they are not bored over the summer. We end up staying inside alot because it's just too hot to go outside.

I don't have another vacation planned yet, but I'm working on it. Just short little weekend trips are good for me!

That's about all right now. What new with you this summer?

kasa_momSorry your are down with your back. Chiropractors have helped me too. I know you are really going to miss your sis.
txwhittlecI'm so glad Dr. C has helped you. Hope you feel better soon. Forever sounds so harsh. I think you need to plan a vacation to St. Louis. ;) We'll miss you all. Yea for one more cleaning! :)
karatemomSorry about your back. We are gearing up for our long drive up to Oregon for the FC Camp up there. It takes two days to drive up there. I love the camp though, I have just as much fun as a counselor as I did going to camp in my younger years. We're getting an addition put on our house right now, so our back yard is a mess.
traceyI think you must have picked up too many boxes for your sister : ) Just kidding. Glad your back is better though. Feels like this summer is flying by! I kind of feel bad because the girls and I don't do much either. The pool seems to help alot though. You are welcome to come anytime to let the kids swim!
neentothebeanChiropractic is wonderful!!:) Glad it's helping you!
Hope to see you soon in St. Louis!
polaramyThere's a new 7-11 at the gas station at Davis and Mid-Cities. They're giving away free mini-slurpees. Plus, each day this weekend is a different 25 cent deal. Today is Big Gulps, Saturday Big Bites (hot dogs), Sunday donuts, and Monday coffee. If you want to treat the kids to seomthing special, it's cheap and close!
polaramyI think the free slurpees are valid at all locations since it's 7-11. The other stuff I'm guessing is just at the new place...
kasa_mom^^Thanks for the tip on the 7-11
chispaHope your back feels better!

Home Sweet Home! 06-28-08 01:07pm CST
We went to pick Jordyn up yesterday afternoon. She said she had a great time at camp. When we arrived, I got out to get her and as soon as she saw me, she ran to me a gave me the biggest hug! It was so sweet! She looked hot and tired but it didn't seem to bother her at all.
She was only gone a few days and it did go by pretty quick. I'm thankful for that! She said she wasn't homesick but her buddy Justine was. I'm glad she didn't have a hard time being away from us. She said she would like to go again and is even ready to go to FC camp! Dale showed her pictures of the Texas camp online and got her excited about it.
Last night she needed a shower and she said "Mom, I can do it by myself" and she did. Wow she is really beginning to show her independence which is what everyone is telling me she needs to learn. I'm really proud of her! :)
markrobertsEXCELLENT!!!!!
traceyGlad I have a few more years before I have to worry about Reese and Rylee going off to camp!
polaramyGlad everyone did well!
karatemomI'm glad she had a good time!
txwhittlecYea for Jordyn!
sunshinebearGlad she had a great time!! Glad she made it home safe!
jenryzI'm glad she had a good time, and you survived too ;-)
sharonAwww. I'm glad she did well!
johnsonclan5glad she had fun & that you survived the first time of her being away from home.
sharon
karatemomWow that is a cool card that she^ did! Maybe that will be the next thing I try to figure out!
sunshinebearGlad you enjoyed it! Happy 4th to you and your family!
johnsonclan5I am glad I am back on too! We are enjoying our new house but staying busy. Hope you ahd a great 4th!

Wednesday! 06-23-08 02:15pm CST
Jordyn will be leaving me for the first time (not with grandparents) to go to camp. Oh boy!!
missysnappOh boy! Good luck with that. I haven't yet been there.
kasa_momI've found it is usually harder for you than for her. I'm looking at my oldest moving away to a different city after graduation and I'll have to say each new separations don't get much easier. Lots of prayers offered everytime.
karatemomIs she going to FC camp, or gs camp? On another note, I saw Dawn Woolpert at church up here in Utah, do you remember her from FC?
karatemomSince I just saw the title of Wed. I guess it's not FC camp. DUH!!
rebekah1man, i am NOT ready for that yet.
chispaDifficult, but exciting times!!
laughing_eyesHang in there, Mom!
txwhittlecI would feel the same as you. I know she will have fun but it's still hard. Miss you guys.
markrobertsit'll be fine! be glad she wants to go - it's a good thing. may be hard on moms and dads but we need to keep our eye on the goal: working ourselves OUT of a job. you'll make it (and so will she!)
rmiller^^^^^I'm with him. It will be fine. As parents, we have to learn to celebrate these small steps to independence from us. She will make you proud.
neentothebeanBittersweet, I'm sure:)
beckyrooThank you for your kind words! It is nice to hear that other people have done the same thing and been in our shoes. I hope Jordyn has a great time at camp! :-)
sweetpinkHow exciting ... for her! Is she going to FC camp?
amrkWow. Ben went with Joseph last year out to Oregon camp. Scott Higgins wrangled Joseph into a trip to be the entertainment guy- things never change. Ben was only 7 (a month shy of 8) at the time. He really enjoyed it but he was exhausted. Such long days for a little one. Joseph let him just sleep until he woke up a couple of days while there and he slept until 11:30!!! He had a lot of fun, though. How old is Jordyn? What camp is she going to?
sunshinebearThank you! I can't believe it has been two years either!
sunshinebearHope yesterday went well for you! Jordyn will have a blast. Let us know how she does!!
polaramyPatrick was much easier than Samantha! They were both terrified to go, but once he gave in and went the first time, he was going 90% of the time within days and dry at night, too. Good luck!

Back To Reality! 06-15-08 08:40pm CST
Well we made it back home late Saturday evening from Branson and we had a wonderful time! It rained on our drive up as well as the day before we came home which really cooled things off. The first two days we went to Silver Dollar City which is a really neat theme park that has rides and neat shows as well as all the yummy junk food you can get at theme parks. The next day we just toured Branson and that evening we went to The Great Passion Play in Eureka Springs Arkansas. It's about and hour and a half drive from Branson. The play shows the last few days of Jesus' life and his death and ressurection. It is on an outdoor stage and they use live animals and gives you the feel of actually being with Jesus. It was very moving. The last day we did some shopping in town and went to the Dixie Stampede. It is a dinner and show. They divide the two sides of the audience into the North and South. Throughout the show, they will have cast do competitions for each side and the South won! The food was delicious and the kids loved it! Now we are back home but have fond memories of our trip. If any of you ever get the chance to go to Branson you should! We highly recommend it!
neenoutSounds like fun. I am glad you were able to do that!
crumpledartI liked the Dixie Stampede myself! Glad you had fun!
sunshinebearBranson is a lot of fun! Tim and I went last year it was great! The shows were a lot of fun!!
txwhittlecGlad you had a great time! :)
johnsonclan5Glad you had a nice time.I would love to see Branson some day, that is where my great-grandparents on my dad's side lived.
karatemomSounds like a great trip! One of these years I'll make it over there!
txmomGlad you had a fun time and made it back safely. :)
