Time for a New Post 11-18-08 01:44am CST
Well, like a number of you, I got sick of looking at my old post so I thought I'd post something really quick. Not much new is going on except for my kittens growing into cats.

Here is a cute picture I took of them about a month ago with Penny's and Chris' digital camera.

Pepper(left) and Sargeant(right)

They are definitely keeping me on my toes and keeping me entertained. I was watching tv the other night and all of the sudden Pepper runs out of the bathroom with a roll of toilet paper in her mouth. It was quite hilarious. Sargeant's new trick is jumping up on the bathroom counter and trying to play in the sink. Let's just say their bathroom playtime is restricted to when they have parental supervision. But, all in all, they're great cats, and I love coming home to little fur faces greeting me at the door.

Other than that, I went home a few weekends back to go to some childhood friend's wedding. It was like a mini high school reunion. I went to school with both the bride and groom. The groom was a year ahead of me in school and the bride a year behind. So, there were a lot of people I went to high school with at the wedding and reception. Some of them I haven't seen since I graduated. It was really nice to catch up with them.

The bride has been our across-the-street neighbor since my family moved back to TX when I was in the first grade. She feels like a sister to Penny and me because we grew up together and spent a lot of time playing at each other's house. It was great to be a part of her big day. I'll try to post a pic when I get some developed.

As for an update on my nieces, they are both sitting up now all on their own! They haven't fully figured out how to crawl yet, but they scooch themselves around pretty well. My mom told me they're starting to try and pull up on things so they may just skip over crawling and go straight to walking. I'll get to see them on Thanksgiving day, and I can't wait! I haven't seen them in a few months and that is way too long. I'll post pics as soon as I get some new ones.

Thanksgiving can not come soon enough for me. I'll have off November 26 through December 5 from work and the vacation is much needed. We've been really busy and it will be nice to not have to process invoice for a week and a half. If anyone is going to be in WC during that time, let me know and maybe we can meet up.

Anyways, this turned into a longer post than I originally planned. Sorry about that. Hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving and be safe!

Till next time ...

ttu_brandiWhose wedding? We'll be in town the Sat. before Thanksgiving through Friday morning.

The New Additions to my Family 09-25-08 02:23am CST
Well, my babies are here ... that is two little six week old kittens, of course! :)

Just in case you were wondering, I finally got to bring home 2 balls of fuzz and energy this past Saturday. And, right now they are being very active and loud! They like to run all over my apartment and me. Their favorite activities are kitten wrestling and biting and scratching me.

It is definitely a change to have kittens this young. I don't think I've had any cats around this young in years. But, I'm loving every minute of it even though my allergies aren't. I'm pretty stopped up at the moment, have watery eyes, sneeze like crazy, and have a sore throat. But, it will pass. Zyrtec, Sudafed and Benadryl are my friends right now.

I don't have any pics to post at the moment. Penny took some this past weekend when she was here. So, maybe I'll get her to send me one. They are very cute, though, as they try climbing my curtians while I type.

One of the kittens is a little girl who is black and white and has pretty dark green eyes. The other one is a little boy that is mainly grey with some white stripes on his legs, tummy, and a few on his face. They both like to yell at me when I'm not paying attention to them or they can't see me.

I've named the boy Sergeant and the girl Pepper. Kudos to whoever can figure out what the names together reference (Penny is out of the game since she already knows where I got the names from).

Have fun guessing and let me know what you think of the names. Well, that's all my news for now. Hopefully, I'll be able to post some pictures soon. Hope everyone is having a great week and take care!

Till next time ...
allysounds like a beatles name thing to me...haha. i love kittens..hope you enjoy them.
jenjamAlthough I do not care for cats, I'm glad you have 2 little buddies running around!
scottishstar7Kudos to Ally! I got the names from the Beatles album - Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Heart Club Band (I believe that's correct). The names definitely suit the kittens. Sgt. likes to meow at me a lot like he's giving orders, though Pepper has taken that up too the past couple days. And, Pepper is very independent and fiesty.

I'm FREE!!!! 08-12-08 03:53am CST
Well, as of this past weekend, I no longer have any roommates! I finally moved into my own apartment, and I'm loving it! I didn't love the moving part, but it went pretty smoothly this year. I had pretty much everything boxed up so it was easy to get things in and out of the U-HUAL. Not to mention, it made my dad happy that I actually had things ready to move prior to moving day.

My apartment is 2 Bed/1 Bath with a spacious living room and open kitchen. I have just the right amount of space for what I need. And, the extra room will definitely come in handy once football season starts and members of my family flit in and out on the weekends. Penny, you'll actually have a bed to sleep in! No more couch for you! :)

It is just great to have a place of my own where I can come and go and not have to worry about disturbing anyone else. Now, I can only get upset with myself if the place is messy and dishes are piled up in the sink (not that I plan to let that happen). Also, I love being able to have guests stay with me without fear of imposing on anyone or making anyone upset.

This past year was pretty rough in regards to the roommate experience. The girls I roomed with are nice, but our personalities didn't really click. Not to mention, the 5 year age gap between me (older) and them (younger). So, we definitely butted heads at times. But, we ended things on good terms so I'm glad about that. I'm even more glad that I won't have to deal with roommate drama anymore.

The next roommate(s) I will have will be of the four-footed kind. One of my co-worker's cat just had kittens the last week in July. The cat had 3 kittens, and one of them is black and white, which those of you who know me so well realize that I can't resist a black and white cat. My cat, Huggy, that died last Thanksgiving was black and white, and, since he died, I've really been wanting another black and white cat.

I may try to take 2 of the kittens so that they'll have a buddy to play with when I'm at work. But, we'll see how the finances work out. They probably won't be ready to come home with me till sometime in October, which will give me some time to save up for pet deposits.

I can't wait to have little furry faces greet me at the door. I've missed having cats around after having Penny's 2 cats the last year we lived together. Cats always seem to keep you entertained.

Anyways, that's all my news for now. I'm just busy trying to unpack and put stuff up at the apartment. Work is going good. My mom tells me that my nieces are getting big and looking at everything. Morgan actually managed to turn onto her side last week when she was taking a nap. It won't be long before she completely rolls over on her own. Elizabeth hasn't started turning over yet, but she does laugh in her sleep. I can't wait till I get to see them next, though it probably won't be till next month.:( August is going to be pretty busy for me.

I hope everyone is doing well. Congrats to all those getting engaged, getting married, and having babies. Let me know what's new in your lives.

Till next time ...
jenjamYay for a new apartment all to yourself!!!
ttu_brandiGlad you're off on your own now; enjoy it!
the_masked_erinHey, I wanted to let you know that Faye Dawdy passed away on Wednesday. Her funeral is going to be this afternoon.
mattmanuaIs that your way of angling for a job when I get done?
the_masked_erinI did get my card. Thanks! :)
mattmanuaFree work! That's even better!
adampuali actually know Jaime and was looking forward to seeing them, but they were out of town :( i didn't know he was your cousin, though!
ttu_brandiMy parents stayed up at Brazoria city hall. Brazoria and WC ended up okay compared to everywhere else, I think. Mom and Dad had some big branches down and no power, but nothing major. Then they stayed at city hall again saturday night and came home to a flooded house- water everywhere- completely ruined all the hardwood floors they just put down in the past year. They're still not sure exactly how it happened. It could've been much worse though. Glad y'all are all okay.
ttu_brandiThanks, but Dad called the fire dept. guys and they all came over and cleaned it up and ripped the floor out. Thanks, though!

On June 26, 1984 06-27-08 12:37am CST
Everyone go an wish my sis, Penny, an extremely happy birthday! She is 24 as of June 26, 2008. Oh, how the years have flown by.

Because of this important event in our family, the clan will be meeting up this weekend to eat yummy Mexican food, fawn over my nieces, and celebrate the day Penny graced us with her presence. I can't wait to see everyone and get to spoil my sis. She's been working so hard lately that she definitely needs a day to relax and be showered with attention.

Saturday may mark the first outing to a resteraunt for my almost 2 month old nieces. Elizabeth and Morgan had their first shots last week and the doctor approved for them to go out in public. So, it will be interesting to see how they behave at a resteraunt. Though, they're still in their sleeping phase so they may just sleep through it all. They had their first professional pics taken over a week ago and they slept through the entire session. But, the pics are soooo cute.

I haven't seen the girls since Memorial Day weekend so I'm really ready for this weekend and getting to be Aunt Keely. But, of course, the real reason the family is getting together is for Penny's b-day; getting to see my nieces is just a bonus.

Anyways, I'll post some pics once I get some developed. I still haven't gotten a digital camera yet. I can't make up my mind on what kind to get. If you have any suggestions, please let me know.

Other than that, nothing is new with me. Working the night shift is going well. Everyone in my family is doing well. Shawn and Jennifer have a few couples interested in buying their old house. So, please keep your fingers crossed that one of the couples works out.

Hope everyone is doing well. Let me know what you're up to this hot, hot summer.

Till next time ...
jenjamI hope you have a great weekend. Kiss the twinkies for me!
My advice on a camera: get one that will take one picture after another w/o a long pause in between. My camera takes forever before it will let you take another picture. Very annoying! And, when you are trying to take pictures of precious little ones, every second matters.
boromomHope the moving is going well. Don't let your dad and mom get too tired.
mattmanuaGlad I could be of service. Hope the move went well.

Family Feeding Time
The new parents at feeding time. Jennifer is burping Morgan after being fed and Shawn is feeding Elizabeth a supplemental bottle. It is so interesting to see them as parents, and they're doing a great job!

Well, that is the first sets of many pics of my adorable nieces. They and their parents are doing well and all adjusting to the new 3 hour feeding schedule, lack of sleep, and all the other things that come with new babies. Please, continue to keep them in your prayers as the years go by. Shawn and Jen definitely have their hands full, and couldn't be happier.

It feels great to be an aunt. Now I'm just going to have to learn how to equally divide my attention so that both Elle and Emm get plenty of love from their Aunt Keely. I'm looking forward to seeing them grow and develop their personalities. Right now, it is hard to tell who they look more like, but I'm sure it's just a matter of time before we start comparing them to other family members.

Thanks for all the well wishes and congrats. I hope you all enjoy these pics as much as I enjoyed taking them. If you want to see more, you can click on one of the pics to be taken to my photo albums.

Hope everyone is doing well and enjoying all life has to offer. Each day is a blessing from God so live it to the fullest!

Till next time...
