Last Saturday the Schaufels had a party for me. Awhile ago Mrs. Schaufel had thought of having a "ladies luncheon" to celebrate my graduation. Apparently it used to be a tradition for senior girls at our congregation? (I think that's basically what I heard.) So that is what they did on Saturday. They had the luncheon set up very nicely. I liked the decorations and the food and the presents and cards and the game and the people who came. lol. They fixed up the tables really pretty: they put white tablecloths on them, and candles, pink plates, and fancy name cards by everyone's place. They also decorated some of the rooms with balloons and streamers. The lunch was set up like a buffet: there was salad, all kinds of different toppings we could add to it, chicken, bread, fruit, and numerous different kinds of sweet bread. After lunch, I opened my presents and cards. They also played a game which was to answer different questions about me, such as what is my favorite color, movie, state, when was I born, etc. I had fun answering the questions the day before. Shelley took pictures of the party and gave them to me on Sunday, and then I put some of them in a photo album that they had given me. I was very happy about the pictures because now I can show them to other people who were not there if I want to. So thankyou for hosting the party! It was sweet of you since I'm not in your actual family.
Well, I have to get off. Take care everybody! How are you doing?
Hi Susan! I am sorry that I have not had you down this summer. It has been so hard to find a weekend that would work. I am moving in a week. Maybe we can work something out after I get all unpacked. I am not sure if my new place will be closer to you or not?
Hello, Susan :). Yes, I remember you. I'm not very good about commenting on people's blogs in general, and very bad about commenting on the blogs of people I don't know well. So, please forgive me for not making much of an effort to comment more often. Congratulations on graduating! Are you planning on coming down here to FC at some point?
Hey all! I just got back from camp yesterday. (The "Chicagoland" FC camp in Wisconsin, that is.) I had a good week. In fact, it may have been the best week of camp that I've had, in terms of having a nice week. This was also my last year as a camper! I made some new friends, spent time with old ones, played Bible Bowl (and we did get first place), had fun playing other sports, and my team won the "championship," i.e., we had more points than any other team at the end of the week. :)
Hi, Susan! I didn't know you were on here. It was good to be with you at camp and on the same team, too! I had never been on the winning team before. It was close!
I'm hoping to take a writing course of some sort this fall, maybe with the Institute of Children's Literature. I like to write fiction, and I want to get better at it so that hopefully I can get some things published eventually. I also might want to do something with sewing... however, I need to learn A LOT more about that. I think Mom and Dad are going to buy me a sewing machine for a graduation present. My mom has a sewing machine, but it has problems. I'm not planning on going to FC this year; I still might go in the future, but not this fall. Also hopefully I can get a job after camp. I've been doing some things at home during the earlier part of the summer and also been taking Driver's Ed. I'm done with the class part of that now, but I haven't done my 4 drives yet.
Hello, everyone. How are you all? I haven't posted in ages, as usual. lol. But I thought I would give you a little update about me now! I'm done with school :) and done with highschool, as of a couple weeks ago! I'm graduated! (Except I didn't have a ceremony and Dad hasn't given me my diploma yet). I had a graduation party in May with one of my cousins for the relatives on my dad's side, and hopefully I'll have one later this summer for the people from the church and any of my mom's relatives who'll come. (That would be later than normal to have a graduation party, I know, but oh well.)
Congratulations on graduating I didn't realize you just graduated from high school...probably should have seen it coming, haha. Let me know about your party I can try to come up for it and possibly bring jena (if its a day she isn't working)
Hey, Susan! Glad you found me on here! I am not sure if I could place a face with the name right now, but I'm sure once I see you at camp that I'll know who you are (assuming you're coming one more year?)! :)
Hey, Susan! I'm actually only going to the Minnesota and Texas camps. But my mom and little brother will be at Chicagoland still, so be sure to look for them!
so far I think we've gotten it 2 times since I've been here...both times when I had to go to bed so I could work that night, so I haven't really gotten to enjoy it, but it is pretty!
