OK so I really loved my first week of school... it's the work I now have to do in preparation for the start of week 2 and all subsequent weeks I am not sure about. Stress is sure to creep in, but hopefully tomorrow I can get soooo much HW done that it will delay another week. I love my History instructor, I am going to love going to class every week and hearing his stories. 30% of our final grade is a scavenger hunt!
Work is fine. The assistant manager and I are communicating well (which we weren't doing prior to this week,) we have agreed to be tolerant of the fact that we are polar opposites and work with eachothers strengths and leave our personal opinions aside. She told me she didn't understand why I wanted to be an asst mgr if this job wasn't my # one priority in life. There was no way I could have been honest and told her I only hold this job because I have to work and it pays better than any other stinkin job around here...and that if I could I would rather not work and take more classes and try to graduate ASAP!! (Although, now that I think about it, what a great idea!)
Being down here is worth all of the downsides I can think of, because no matter what there are more upsides. I just LOVE it here. Speaking of loving it here, I would also really love it if I got in to A&M...yep, it's time to reapply. Once all things are submitted, I will be asking for many prayers.
log completely out of yahoo. then go to fantasysports.yahoo.com and log in using the same id/pw you used to set up your team name. that should take you back to the fantasy homepage, this time with our league listed on the right side.
I finsihed my last summer class on Monday...I got a C. Sucks, but whatever, life goes on, just glad it's done!
Work is busy, easy, but busy. I will probably be putting in some overtime this next week.
The new place is cute, I have an awesome roomie to share the upstairs with. We'll see how getting 2 more roomies who have to share a bedroom 10' X 12' will work out. *nervous*
School starts in 2 1/2 weeks and I have no money to pay for school and no way of knowing how I am going to get that money yet. I was denied financial aid because I have too many credits. Monday I will be turning in a letter of appeal to the financial aid appeals committee and I should find out by the 18th whether I will get loans or not. Until then it is just a wait and pray kind of thing. Also, it's looking like I am going to need additional loans because my job doesn't cover all of my outgoing expenses.
Thats it for now. I have to be at work in half an hour.
wow! so much going on for you right now. are you meeting more people? i was there thursday morning for magnus' orthodontist appt. we'll be up in dfw next week. school starts for the boys on the 25th.
Hey. I dont want you think that I am avoiding you. Chris leaves in 2 and half weeks for 6-7 months.. so all my free time I am spedning with him. I am sorry i will call you a couple weeks :) love ya
our draft is live/online. which means you don't have to be logged in live to draft. you can preset the rankings and the computer will draft for you. there are several posts in our forum on it, so check those out
vanessa called me today, and she seemed super interested in the idea. so i told her and chris to talk about it and let us know what they want to do. :)
I am now a manager in training at Rack Room Shoes in Bryan!! I start Friday. We will be unloading approximately 1200 cases of shoes and stocking the store until our grand opening next Friday July 25th.
For those that live in the BCS area, come buy some shoes!
I should find out Monday about the job. Here is what I was told before leaving my interview yesterday. "Jim and I will be making our decision on Monday, expect to hear from us then. We will be talking to a couple of other applicants today, but I must say, you are ranking pretty high up there. If everything works out, be prepared to start Thursday and wear clothes you can get dirty in, we will begin processing 1,200 cases of shoes."
When a district manager tells you that you "rank pretty high up there," and that they are only talking to a couple of other people, and you already know the manager likes you... a person can't help but feel confident about the situation. I will just keep praying through the weekend! I have to remember not to count my chickens before they hatch. I would hate the phone call on Monday to be a bitter disappointment!
Alright, time to make something of my Saturday afternoon and evening! Toodles~
Well the final grades came in... I got an A in History and a B in College Algebra just as I was aiming for!!! Definately exciting stuff for me!
I have started my Math Analysis II course and have my first exam Friday. It all seems very intimidating, but I think this first exam will be ok. Thankfully this is my only class because it will require a lot of work!
My work search has been narrowed down to 2 options now. I will most likely be offered a job at a Toyota dealership as a greeter. The pay will stink, but if I work FT it will cover most (but not all) of my bills. My 2nd option is definately better! Yesterday I applied for the asst mgr-in-training position and surprisingly it looks like I could get this job. The manager likes me and is very eager to make sure I am the first person the DM speaks with Friday in an interview. This job would pay great but would require committment as this is a position of more responsibility.
In regards to the job, I am really praying this position at Rack Room Shoes works out. The pay WOULD pay for ALL of my bills!!! Please pray as I am, that this job will work out, it's my best chance at fully supporting myself.
On a lighter note: my 4th of July weekend was amazing!! How was it amazing...let me count the ways; swimming at the lake, good FOOD, almost getting the guts to do a flip off the rope swing, getting to eat C&J BBQ, friends, FIREWORKS, short road trip Saturday... you get the picture! I feel more and more blessed each time I get to know people here a little better.
Alright, I suppose that is enough to read! haha
Hope everyone is doing well!
Glad to hear that Summer 1 went great and that things are going good down there! I don't like hearing the name of another BBQ place other than Shady Oak mentioned though... I lost respect for you! :D
