So hard to believe it's November now and we have almost a 9 month old!! It's funny, but somehow time seems to fly 100x's faster when you have a baby. Evan is growing like a little weed and exploring and learning daily. He's an ace at eating, sitting, crawling, standing, pulling up, and walking (while holding onto Mommy or Daddy's hands)! We're still working on the talking bit (or maybe interpreting, I should say). :) He is so precious!
Yesterday Evan went on his first hike with us in the Smoky Mountains. We took him up to Laurel Falls. The falls weren't too spectacular, but the leaves still are. Laurel Falls was my first hike, too, so that's a fun thing to have in common! Since it's paved and you can push a stroller up, it's probably a lot of kids 1st hike! But it still counts! :)
What a precious little boy! (His parents aren't too bad, either) Wish we could see you. We are located between Austin and San Antonio and could show you a good time. Come visit when you can.
Awe! MEMORIES!! You just made a great one! You guys are such a cute family! The greatest thing is your love for God & how precious it is for Evan to have godly parents! How God has blessed your family! Every time you post pics of the Great Smokey Mountains it takes me back to some of the best times in my childhood. I loved rock jumping up the streams through the mountain! Thank you for sharing your life with all of us!! Did I say Evan is a doll!!!!
I have been waiting for you to post...I found you while surfing pleo one night. My name is Ashley Fields. I graduated with Cody from Athens Bible School. I was so excited to find somebody from highschool on here, and see that he has a little boy! Tell him we all missed him at the 10 year reunion. Also, please tell him I have 4 kids! Ages 9, 7, 6 and 6 months! 2 boys, 2 girls. Ask him if he remembers my little brother Evan from church. Evan died last November from complications due to a heroin overdose. Where are ya'll living? Where do you attend church? Cody, so good to see that you're doing well...you have a beautiful family! Take care...maybe we can catch up on the last ten years sometime! You better come to the 15 yr. reunion!

I can't believe how big he's getting!! Doesn't look much like a baby anymore...unless he's next to a 2 year old! :) Time flies fast!
New adventures for this 5 month old...finally getting into a nighttime routine, semi-solid food, and sitting up!! New experiences daily!
Enjoy your summer!
He is sooooo adorable!!!! I can't believe how fast they grown either. My friend Danielle is having a 1st Birthday Party for her little girl on Saturday. Man it feels like just yesterday she was born.
Oh my... if he was pretty before.... he's really really pretty now. Okay, your sister and steven live here... your mom and dad have been here... your sister and carl have been here... get my drift?
Oh, I would have LOVED to have seen you and your little family!! I'm so disappointed that we missed you. Aaron was preaching down in LaFayette, GA. Hopefully, we'll get to see you next time!
I know you don't get to check this very often. But I would really appreciate it if you would please Pray for me as I go through breast cancer screening. I think I sent you an email too! We need new pics of Evan Charles!!!
Well, hello Lydia!! Just wanted you to know that I recently enjoyed some of your nail polish. Got to see Scott and Lari last night. It was so sweet of them to come. Too bad you already had plans, it would have been great to see you!
I finally found who took my original pleo name that I wanted to use. LOL I named my little girl Lydia and thought how appropriate but was taken. I was just surfin and found the name Lydia on kayliesmomma's pleo and then here I am. Nice to meet ya. Handsome gift you got there!!!! They grow terribly fast and I don't like it one bit--Lydia will be 3 in 18 days---boohooooo ;(
What a handsome family there Sydney!! ;) Just wanted to let you know that I'm on here now! Woo hoo!! Some grown-up interaction will be nice for a change!
Hey Lydia! I'm not sure how often you check Pleo/email, but wanted to let you know that I emailed you! :) If I don't hear from you by tomorrow, I'll give you a call. Love ya! Give your handsome boy a kiss for me!
Every day is an adventure with a 3.5 month old! Evan is growing so much and learning new things constantly. He's smiling a lot now and that makes the whole world a better, happier place. I really don't know what feeling could be better than seeing your little baby smile back at you. It's amazing! All the pains of the nights of little sleep, changing endless dirty diapers, and feeding almost non-stop are instantly wiped away with a single smile.
His latest accomplishment is his ability to reach for and touch our face and to grab toys held in front of him. It's so funny to see him smile proudly and squeel in excitement when he accomplishes grasping something. He's too funny! He's finally packin' on the lbs. now--he's gained like 3-4 lbs. in the last month! He's up to about 10 1/2 pounds now! Just now fitting into his 0-3 month clothes.
Cody and I went to see Narnia 2 last weekend and he (Evan, not Cody-Ha!) stared at the movie screen for 2 hours straight! It was histarical! We're gonna have to limit his TV time or he'll get addicted! :)

Hey! I'm sad I missed you guys too! I'm going to call you sometime this week so we can catch up. I miss chatting with you! I hope everything in Alabama is going well. I hope to talk with you (or even see you) soon!
Ok, so things have been a "little" crazy the last 7 weeks (imagine that!) but I'm finally get a chance to put up a few new pictures of little Evan (thanks to Anna, her laptop, and this free wireless cafe).
Evan's growing and changing so much all the time! He's gained a little weight -but not up to 8 lbs. just yet- and we can tell he's really started to focus more when he looks around. His little neck is getting stronger and he's flailing his long arms and legs around a lot more now, too.
It's still hard to believe I'm a "Mom", Cody's a "Dad", and that I've had a baby! So crazy! I wonder when people with more than one baby get ANYTHING done. Please feel free to offer up tips if you have some that work. :) One thing we've found to be a life saver is this CD that Jenny G recommended with a 17 minute track that plays a hairdryer blowing continuously. He loves it! And amazingly enough, the last week or so it has helped him to sleep in his crib! Breakthrough!! Cody and I finally have the double bed back to ourselves. No more worrying about squishing a little baby in the night! :)
I love the fact that Spring is here, the weather is warmer, and the trees and flowers are blooming! I love living in this climate where there are definite distinct seasons. I love the thought of being able to get outside with Evan.
Ok, I better run, I think someones hungry...

He LOVES his bathtime!
Playin with Dad (sorry it's stretched, don't have time to fix it!)
OH MAN! he is so cute! I am sooo glad that the CD is working for you, makes life much nicer. I'll try giving you a call soon, b/f our little one is born.
He is adorable!! Congratulations!! Right now, you just need to worry about sleeping when he sleeps. When you're able to start getting more rest at night, then you can worry about getting things done.
Hows my little peapod Nephew? I can see that you have gotten the only photos of him over the last months where he is not screaming his head off. Let's see thats 7 times? I CANNOT WAIT TO HOLD HIM (and you, but not like Evan) in my arms!!!
How sweet! What a little man! He is soooo cute! Glad to know that all of you are doing so well! God bless and keep you. Thank you so much for the comment! She is such a treasure just like the other 3 girls are! How blessed we all are!!
I used a back pack with Gregg & Chuck in it as I did my house work! When Gregg was 2 & Chuck was a baby, Chuck was on my back and I just made sure that Gregg was in a safe area or in the room with me! Little by little you will find what works for you. I can promise that all those things that need to be done will wait for you, enjoy your baby as much as possible.
One week ago today we welcomed into this world Mr. Evan Charles Wright. He was born at 5:19 AM on Valentine's Day and weighed 6 lbs. 5 oz. and was 19 inches long. Everything went smoothly and having a doula by our side during the whole delivery helped so much! We feel so blessed and love him so much already! Evan and I are both doing great! And Cody has jumped right into fatherhood and is loving his new role as 'Daddy.'
Here's some photos of Evan:
Our first attempt at dressing him; he was so patient with us!
One of our first family photos:
On our way out of the hospital, headed home (Evan's Great Grandma made him that hat...he'll have to grow into it a bit!):
Thanks for your kind words and thoughts and prayers over the past week!!
(This post was brought to you through AUNT Anna, as MOMMY Lydia has no access to the internet right now, but will post more pictures as soon as she gets the chance!)
He is so beautiful and relaxed-looking! Loved the dressing picture... and laughed at the "three in a bed" one! Congratulations, Lydia and Cody... and Evan, for having such wonderful parents. :)
He is so CUTE! & Thank you Aunt Anna for helping introduce Master Evan Charles Wright to all of us who have been waiting for pictures! They all look so great!!! Give them hugs for us!!
