However, I will delight everyone with a new post. Although, it will be short. I'm supposed to be studying for Neuroanatomy Lab.
In case y'all haven't noticed, Lauren is doing awfully well with what has happened. I give her lots of extra bonus points for it. Frankly, it is still bothing me, but what can be done about it. I'm just trying to get back into school stuff. I missed three days of school last week while I was in Joliet.
Regardless of how much I am having to make up, I'm enjoying my classes. Pathology is probably my favorite. The teacher, although he has a deep Egyptian accent and he adds-uh and "uh"-uh on-uh almost-uh every other-uh word-uh, is still able to teach well. He reminds us of the normal anatomy or physiology of a certain organ, and then explains to us how the disease changes the structure and thus the function of said organ. It's quite enjoyable.
I also gave my first adjustment to a classmate on monday and had my first cavitation. That's a fancy word for a pop. The adjustment was successful. Well, I should be getting back to studying. Talk to y'all sometime in the distant future.
Thanks for coming up. Your support means more to us than you can possibly know. You and all the other good folks are a huge part of the reason why we're doing so well.
Btw, it sounds like your Path teacher has the makings of a Pentecostal preacher. "Repent-uh, for the kingdom-uh of heaven-uh is at hand-uh!"
I am finally done with Trimester 2. I took my last final exam today. I also found out that I got an A in Gross Anatomy so that means that I probably made Dean's List again. Woohoo!! All I am going to do tomorrow is take my wife to work, take my dog to the park (so long as it doesn't rain) and relax. Thursday, Mimi is scheduled to have her cancer surgury. However, at a meeting with her anesthesiologist today, the doctor told her that they were going to have to do a neck dissection. They think the cancer has spread some from her tongue. If that's the case, it is going to take a little longer for her to recooperate. But she's still doing well.
Well, I'm going to leave it there for now. Hope y'all are all doing well. I'm going to go play with my dog. He's so cool.
Congrats Lance! You inspire me to work on my medical transcriptioning stuff.... eventually :-) I need to get on the ball... I have 3 months to make some progress before junior gets here...
I'm getting tired of studying for my gross anatomy final exam this afternoon. So...how better to waste time than to play on pleonast. Final exams start next week on Tuesday. I'm done on the 19th. Mimi has her surgury for her squamous cell carcinoma on her tongue on the 21st. Then the weekend of Labor day, Sarah and I hope to head up to her parents house. We'll spend the nights with them and during the day we hope to do stuff like go to Inks Lake State Park and the Longhorn Caverns and maybe even the slabs...a really fun place with slippery rocks where you just kinda slide down the river.
I'm excited about next trimester. I get to learn stuff like neurology. I'm excited to finally figure out how my brain actually works...which I know is a scary thing. I also get to start adjusting next trimester. Woohoo! Can I practice popping on someone?
Well, I oughta keep studying. Talk to y'all later.
Let me just say first off, I'll be you next volunteer after her. Neurology next trimester ah? I always knew you were neurotic... In other news: as of now, we're still on for Saturday.
If you're going to see Matt and Lauren and their baby for Labor Day, then you're coming up here to see Larry and Lesli and their baby for Thanksgiving! Are ya'll going to Austin for Thanksgiving since I'm stealing mom and dad, and maybe Mimi?
No, we're going up to Arkansas to see Sarah's grandparents and great grandmother. We haven't seen them since 4th of July a year and a half ago, so I figure we oughta go there. I don't know when we're going to get to see y'all and baby Sanders. some day.
Sorry I haven't updated much. That's just the way things go. I'm not going to promise this time that I will stay on top of it. In fact I probably won't even check back in for a couple months. But Oh well.
Just so you know, I'm in trimester two with school. This one is much slower than last time but is also much dumber. Teacher issues are the biggest problem as with any other school. My favorite is the teacher that is teaching us about cardiology and heart health and then cancels class because she has to go see her cardiologist because she isn't healthy. Great...
The dead bodies are still fun. We're doing guts this trimester. I've learned alot. Microbiology and Immunology is pretty fun too. Learning about how a very small thing can kill you very effectively.
Next trimester, I get to actually start adjusting my class mates. That'll be fun...so long as they don't mess up. I'll also get to take Neuroanatomy and learn how the whole nervous system functions. I'm really interested in that and might be an avenue of specialization for me. We will see.
But the most exciting thing happening right now is that I get to go fishing tomorrow. Class has been cancelled today and tomorrow so that TCC can have Homecoming...not like we even have a football team. This homecoming is for Alumni to come back and go to a bunch of seminars for continuing education credit. This year, it is at Moody Gardens. I am going to go and looking at the vendors and get a bunch of free stuff, but then I'm going to Galveston to fish. I'm hoping to catch a nice big flounder so Sarah and I can have a good dinner. Well, here's hoping.
Other than that, I'm doing well. I'll write back after a while. FYI, I probably won't be here to read or make my own little comments, either. sorry guys. TTYL...very later.
Hee hee ... the cardiology teacher cracks me up!! So ... if you won't be back for a couple of months, does that mean you're going to come visit me in September? :)
One of my first sermons here was "What is the church of Christ." In that sermon, I made the point very boldly that we could be called by many different names and still be the church. Sectarianism is one of my biggest pet peeves.
So you'll get a card sometime ... but I know I'll forget if I wait ... so happy birthday next week! :) Sadly, looks like you and Baby don't get to share a birthday - I don't think she's ready to come out and play yet.
So I'm wasting time in the library right now. My only class for the day meets at 11:00a. Everything else is not meeting today. Finals start next Tuesday and run through the Tuesday after that. April 15th is the last day. I'm tired.
I finally finished my histology drawings. I had to draw the cells of every organ in the body. It was long and involved. But even though I am so tired, I have still enjoyed everything that I got to learn. I also took my last gross anatomy test for the trimester. After the test, we all stayed behind and cleaned out our tanks. That was disgusting. I can't even go into details on what I had to see yesterday because it might make someone's stomach queasy. I'll just call it a deep quagmire of putridity. Nasty.
I've gotten my schedule for next trimester. It's got some nice parts and some mean parts. It's nice in that I don't have to be here at 8:00a any particular day. Wednesday and Friday I don't have to be here till 10:00a. But on the downside, Tuesday and Thursday I have gross lab episode II (the cadaver strikes back) until 7:00p. I don't like the idea of getting out of lab and it being dark outside. But oh well. I have fun classes to look forward to. They include: Gross Anatomy II, Immunology, Microbiology, Palpation II, Cardiovascular and Cellular Physiology, Chiropractic Principles II, and Embryology. This way, with Embryology, I can tell Lauren and Lesli what is going on inside of them. In case you didn't know, they're growing babies.
Well, I'm getting tired and I feel like vegging before class, so I'm out. Hope you enjoyed the update.
