I got Parker a little (Charlie Brown) notebook to scribble on, and it seems as though Parker doesn't like poor Charlie very much. He has turned to every page and scribbled out Charlie's face. He doesn't scribble on any other part of the page - just poor Charlie's head. I found that pretty funny
Parker really enjoys wearing other people's shoes - it doesn't matter if they are tennis shoes or high heels
It always amazes me at how much little kids know and how little we give them credit for being able to know at such a young age. For example, we have a picture on the fridge of all of the young kids at church (8 or so) - I held Parker up and started asking him where so and so was and he would point to them in the picture. I ended up naming everyone in the picture and he pointed to everyone correctly. Now that may seem like something so simple, but I thought it was pretty good (not bragging!) and made me realize how little credit I give him or any toddler.
This is ,sadly, about the only family picture that we have :( I think I need to fix that.
Last but certainly not least!!!! Chris gets to take off his lovely brace today!!!YAY! He's going to feel like a new man when he can move his arm however he wants to(mostly)!
bye-bye bionic arm!!
Poor Parker...hasn't everyone been teaching him to color in the pictures?? Better family picture than we have for the past couple of years! And, wow, on the arm brace--I'm sure he'll be glad to get rid of that (and hugs will be better too!)!
Yay! great posty! :) Parker's the cutest! you guys should put the cast and brace in a shadowbox with little holes poked in a tiny area to enable smelling! :) Hope you guys are having a grrrrrrreat week! :)
He looks so sweet! Makes me just want to give Parker a hug! I hope Chris is feeling better and doesn't have any complications. I know he's ready for his brace to come off. Take care!
Wow Chris has had a robot arm!! that's the first picture I've seen of it! The charlie brown story was pretty funny. And I love the pic of him in your shoes!!
I had no idea Chris had to wear such a thing for so long. I'm glad its finally coming off. Parker is adorable. Are you all coming up to Colorado anytime soon. Holidays perhaps?
Well, apparently Chris will do almost anything to get out of work! (Just Kidding!) I got a call today around 3:30 saying that Chris was at the ER - he had cut his arm and he was asking for me to come. Uhhhh....ok....that doesn't sound too bad...I guess. So I drop Parker off at Missy's because I don't know how long I'm going to be there for. I pull up to the ER and see the Acme Glass van and think to myself....it's probably not too bad because they didn't take him by ambulance. Well, then I was driving very slowly wilst looking for a parking space and I see a nurse and an Acme Glass shirt wearing man flag me down. Now I'm thinking....this is not good. They tell me to get out of the car and go in with the nurse and the Acme Glass shirt wearing guy will park my car. The nurse then proceeds to tell me ....it's not good....he cut an artery and is probably going to have to have a transfusion and that they had already taken him to surgery! Lovely...well that answers my question of whether it was bad or not. I got there at 4 and didn't get to see him until close to 7 I think. Not too fun.
So anyway, he actually ended up cutting a branch of the brachial artery (the one they usually draw your blood from) and he cut a bunch of nerves and also a fairly large muscle. They were able to repair everything except we will just have to wait and see if the nerves heal all the way or if there will be some permanent damage there. With this kind of injury, he's going to have a long recovery ahead of him, but it could have been soooooo much worse! They are keeping him overnight and hopefully he'll be able to come home tomorrow. Please pray for his recovery!
im glad you have such a great attitude! we are all thinkin of you guys and praying for y'all. Everything will be just fine! Call me if you need me to love a Mr. Parker!
Been praying! Poor Parker was SO ready to go home. :-) He kept going to the door like, Okay, it's time now! And when Lisa came, he went right to her to cuddle. He let me rock him for quite a while (after Annie went to bed) but wouldn't go to sleep. I hope Chris has a good day today!
So sorry to hear about Chris's accident. It was announced here @ Smoky Hill. With all thats happened with Jim's father passing & going out of town again I haven't been able to talk to Dan or Diane. It was so good to see you, Chris, and that sweet Parker earlier this month.
Well, 4 yrs down - hopefully 50+ more to go! I'm glad he puts up with me - cause I'm quite sure it's a difficult job sometimes. I love you! I look forward to the 50+ anniversaries that we hopefully will have.
Congrats on #4!!!! Son Trevor & Laura just celebrated #1 on July 7th. Jim & I will celebrate 28 yrs next month. Being married to one's best & dearest friend is blissful & such a blessing! We had 2 kids within the first 3 yrs. Happy Anniversary!!
Ok, so I guess it's been long enough since my last post.
Sunday morning after Bible class, Tanner looked at me, pointed at Parker, and said "He sure is handsome"! What a sweet boy!
We're going on a much needed vacation to Colorado in 2 weeks. Oh man, I cannot even tell you how ready I am for that. I'm pretty sure that every other day I tell Chris how excited I am. He's probably ready to go just so I'll stop talking about it.
Well, there's not much blogworthy stuff going on here so I'll just post a couple of pictures of my sweet boy.
he must have eaten one too many oreos....his eyes are doing funny things.
hope you guys have a great trip- it would be worth the drive just to breathe some cooler air to me! can't wait to see pictures of your little cutie pie!
Hey Shannon! Sorry for not getting back to you sooner about the dvd short... I'll give y'all a call tomorrow morning around 10:30 or so and we can figure out the details or what would work best!
yeah we did. After showing off our talent to the myers, they had us show everyone at the talent show. It went pretty good. Everyone was very amazed! I can't wait to see you guys next week!! I'm so excited you're coming up here!!
That's funny--I have known Mickey and Celeste since I was a little girl. I haven't talked to them in years though. I had no idea they were into photography! I know what you mean about needing a vacation! Have a GREAT time!!!
Shannon...it was sweet of you to welcome me to Pleo! Thanks! I enjoyed seeing you & Chris here in Colorado AND that adorable Parker blowing those sweet kisses. What a cutie! I'm so glad that Laura will have you all for friends/connections there in College Station now that she is there too. She got a job teaching US History to 11th graders @ Bryan High School. One of these days...probably this fall sometime...I plan to come visit as I have 2 sisters, 3 nieces, and now 1 daughter in Texas!
Same here. We've had to avoid Benchley too much this year until the withdrawal symptoms are not so painful! But we miss everyone so much! Parker is SOoo cute, and that pic is hilarious!
