My massage therapy business in getting started quickly and easily. I've had several appointments and sold gift certs as well. Everyone seems appreciative, and that's why I do it-- I like appreciation for helping people feel better. I am looking forward to going to Destin, Florida on Saturday night. I'll be staying with my 2 sisters and 2 other ladies while we have our annual work week for the "EPTworks" council. This is the first year we have changed from going to Gatlinburg in favor of the beach. I think I'll miss Gatlinburg in March. Maybe I'll get there another way:) Our house in NC is still for sale-- we are wishing and praying for it to sell soon. We have dropped the price from 320,000 to 260,000. The agent says that if we dropped it another 10k that we would have it sold. We decided to wait on dropping the price until people are looking again. No one has looked at our house in months. We look at the houses in our new town, Madison, AL that are for sale and wonder which one, if any will be ours. We still have that unsettled feeling that seems to hang on after a move to a new place. Living in an apartment makes it seem easier to pack up and move again at any moment. Jeremy didn't win the EMU full tuition scholarship. He is now thinking of staying in AL for college. Darrell is still hoping that the Government Acquisition University will call and interview him for a prof position there, but he hasn't heard anything this week-- he's hoping after the holiday they will soon call. He has two scheduled biz trips coming up: Arizona in Feb and Israel in May.
I've been happy to be doing several appointments since my Massage Therapy room opened last week. I've already sold several gift certificates and completed both massage and EPTworks sessions.
Holiday Travel
Monday we take a road trip to KC, and stay for a week and return on Saturday. I hope I can endure that cold weather... yes, I'm liking the mild southern winters we've enjoyed for the last several years.
Well, 'twas 0 when we took the dog out a little while ago, and it's supposed to get to -6 tonight. And tomorrow's high is 1! And low of -13! =D... It's is supposed to warm up a bit though. ;) And you're not quite coming this far. =)
The weekend was a road trip to EMU -- that's Eastern Michigan University in Ypsilanti-- "ippsie" for short. And, no, their mascot is not the fighting emu, but the eagles. Jeremy felt like he did well on his essay competition. I'm just thrilled he even found a place to compete for a full-ride, and he has the grades to do it!
Since yesterday I've been setting up my new massage room at the salon next door to our apartments. Hopefully, I'll start giving some massages soon and easily pay the rent!
Oh, it's visible.... Or it was... It's now wrapped in bubble wrap, cardboard, gift wrap, has other gift wrapped boxes around it, more bubble wrap around that, some Styrofoam peanuts on top of that, and is in a bigger box. And it's probably somewhere in the post office. So, I guess it's not too readily visible at the moment. =)
It might be interesting. I at least might look at it while we're there. I don't know if I'll borrow it or not. Probably depends on how interesting I find it, and how much I get read. :)
If I remember what you had said back when we were talking about it on that walk, you had mentioned that in some cultures, women wore their hair short. One question I thought of, is: Is what the local culture says is normal really what is natural? Sorry if I am remembering that incorrectly. =)
Darrell is going to Israel Sunday for most of the week. Last week he applied for a lateral job change to the Government Acquisition University as a professor. This would be a nice change for him from his current Missile Defense Job.
I'm going to Indianapolis for two reasons: 1. to go shopping in Chicago with my sisters and nieces 2. To get my dad and bring him to Alabama for Thanksgiving.
After t-day, Dec 5th, I'm taking Jeremy up to Ypsilani, Michigan to compete in a scholarship essay contest for EMU (yes, that is also my favorite massage oil)-- He has already been awarded $70,000 in scholarship money!!! I'll take dad back to his home on this trip.
Meanwhile, I'm setting up and growing my new businesses here, teaching kids bible class, and praying for our house in NC to sell soon.
Our group has completed 2 days and have 2 more days to go for intense emotional healing for each person here. We are each practitioners and will take what we learn to help others to heal from their pain.
1. Day one: some incredible stories shared--
A. one man had a DNA test done on his youngest son-- his by custody after a divorce years ago. This summer we heard that the test showed this son was not his biological son. Recently he did another test, and it came back that he is his biological son. He felt like his son was taken away and given back again.
B. A woman shared that her step-dad died in Sept. She was able to quit her job and go take care of her mother and help her manage her trailer park. They are selling the park, and moving to a different state to be closer to other family members. The mother's stepson stole/kept a large portion of insurance money that the woman was going to use to buy the house in the new place. The two women were 20,000 short to close on the house. They prayed and gave up on their desire to move. The daughter wanted to pack to come here and asked her mom if she had any shorts she could pack. They went to a dresser to find shorts, opened a drawer and found 20,000 in 100 dollar bills her mom had put in that drawer over 10 years ago and forgotten about! They counted it out, were stunned, and are able to close on their house now.
C. Last year at this time, my son Wesley was just recovering from bladder tumor surgery. This past March the doctor suggested removing part of his small and large intestines since the anti-inflammatory meds weren't putting his crohn's into remission. We refused the surgery, and Wesley went off his meds, prayed and has followed some difficult diets and restrictions-- but he is now in remission and eating every day without pain. We have also become much better friends through this trial, and increased our dependence on God for help and guidance.
My granddaughter has crohns is not doing well on her meds. When you get home, would you tell me somethings you are doing for you son? Thanks for the stories. Very interesting.
