Now this was abrupt, and unexpected (okay, I knew it was a possibility, but I didn't expect it yet). However, I think I'll take advantage of it.... Anyone care to list HSCampers who are on here, especially those don't already have on my list? =)
Thank you, my dear aunt!!! =D |

My short talk for tonight is a bit different from what is usually done (at least not usually done here). I'm taking the song, This Is My Father's World, and going through verses that the ideas in the song seem to have been based on, to hopefully give more meaning to it when we sing it.
This is my Father’s world, and to my listening ears_______________________________________________Psalm 8:1-9
All nature sings, and round me rings the music of the spheres.
This is my Father’s world: I rest me in the thought
Of rocks and trees, of skies and seas;
His hand the wonders wrought.
This is my Father’s world, the birds their carols raise,__________________________________________Psalm 148:1-13
The morning light, the lily white, declare their Maker’s praise.
This is my Father’s world: He shines in all that’s fair;
In the rustling grass I hear Him pass;
He speaks to me everywhere.
This is my Father’s world. O let me ne’er forget____________________________________________I Corinthians 10:13
That though the wrong seems oft so strong, God is the ruler yet.
This is my Father’s world: the battle is not done:
Jesus Who died shall be satisfied,
And earth and Heav’n be one.
This is my Father’s world, dreaming, I see His face.___________________________________________Psalm 139: 7-12
I ope my eyes, and in glad surprise cry, “The Lord is in this place.”
This is my Father’s world, from the shining courts above,____________________________________________John 3:16
The Beloved One, His Only Son,
Came—a pledge of deathless love.
This is my Father’s world, should my heart be ever sad?________________________________________Psalm 29:1-11
The lord is King—let the heavens ring. God reigns—let the earth be glad.
This is my Father’s world. Now closer to Heaven bound,
For dear to God is the earth Christ trod.
No place but is holy ground.
This is my Father’s world. I walk a desert lone.____________________________________________Philippians 4:10-13
In a bush ablaze to my wondering gaze God makes His glory known.
This is my Father’s world, a wanderer I may roam
Whate’er my lot, it matters not,
My heart is still at home.
I didn't give the text of the verses on purpose.... Open those Bibles! =) |

Well, I've stopped getting comments on my previous post, so I suppose it's time for a new one, eh?
Since technically I was tagged twice quite some time ago now, and I only did 8 things, I'll join them and do another 8.
This set took me a while, because I felt like I cheated last time, and I didn't want to this time. =)
1) I sometimes find myself attempting to imitate facial expressions or small gestures mentioned in books that I read. Lately, I was trying to figure out just how someone with a twinkle in their eye looks....
2) I enjoy very warm showers, yet I still occasionally wash my hands in cold water... I used to do it all the time, but not so much anymore.
3) I thought it would be fun to refer to myself as a write-y lefty, lofty righty. This is because I throw better right-handed despite being left-handed.
4) I've about decided that I like Cheerios drizzled with honey better than Honey Nut Cheerios. =P
5) I dislike green beans, unless they are cooked in the way Mother has almost always done them (to the extent of my memory): drain half the liquid from the can(s) of green beans, sprinkle with garlic salt and boil until the beans are very tender, and most of the liquid is gone, stirring occasionally. Cooked this way, they might be my favorite green vegetable. =)
6)
~6a) My favorite spices in cooking are garlic and red pepper.
~6b) My favorite things to cook are desserts.
~6c) I don't use my favorite spices in my favorite things to cook.
7) When putting away dishes, especially the glasses, I prefer to try to have matching colors in each stack, if I can.
8) I don't have a particular favorite color. When someone asks such a silly question as, "What's your favorite color?," My favorite response is, "In what context?" |
