Just finished a paper reporting on my cloning experiment. I probably did not actually succeed in cloning viral DNA, or maybe it didn't show up in my results. At any rate, it was a bit disappointing. Had fun, though.
When I look at my profile picture, I can't help mentally super-imposing the words "dead" and "tired" over my right and left eyeballs, respecively. And yes, that is right and left with respect to the direction in which my picture is looking out.
I'm drinking tea. Nate is playing Virtua Fighter 4.
I also just finished writing a prelab for tomorrow morning, at which time I will be disembowelling a quartet of meal worm larvae and squishing all of their DNA out of their soft tissue. Then I'm going to chop the DNA up into little fragments with an enzyme, and I'm going to laugh while I do it.
No, no I'm not. I dread tomorrow. I would rather dissect a latex-filled, formaldehyde permeated frog than cut those larvae open.
The post I am leaning on in the picture is the peak marker for Flat Top, a mountain with a flat top. A good, friendly hike.
The semester is insane. I'm not sure I'll be taking on this much next spring...
I did just take a trip to Arkansas for a conference, which was great. That was a week ago, and I'm still struggling to catch up on my homework and studies. Aaaah!
Last month I got my hair cut. And, yes, that does signify something this time. I have never had my hair cut like this, and it looks CUTE!
Hi, I don't know you. My name's Jarred. I know your brother pretty well and I'm practically related to the Hamiltons, although your husband is perhaps the only one out of the bunch I haven't met. I just had to make a comment because I read your last post. You're a human being of the female persuasion, and you like Metallica? You, ma'am, are insanely cool.
Is it ever too early in the morning to listen to Metallica?
I wonder -- how hard is it to make your own website so your family and friends can enjoy the multitude of pictures and sentiments harvested while living in Alaska?

Yes, I still remember the password for my pleo account.
Two or three times, I have sat down to type a post, and I have felt largely uninspired. And if it's not inspired, I don't type it. Most of the time.
I took statistics over the summer. It was about as exciting as chewing cardboard every night for five weeks. I'm glad I took the condensed course.
This fall I take Genetics, Evolution, History, and Physics (as well as two labs). I will be a Student Learning Advocate (again). I will continue to teach and assist in teaching Bible classes on Sundays and Wednesdays. I may also participate in other endevours, but they are as yet undecided so I'll not elaborate.
Nate will also be taking classes and working.
This summer has had little sunshine in it, so gardens across the city have failed, a sad circumstance.
Nate and I went to visit his family in May, and it was lovely. There was sunshine there, and I compulsively sat in the grass and soaked it up.
My hair is still curly, and I have new shoes.
Love,
Sav
Nice pic. And nice metaphor about chewing cardboard. It pretty much gets the point across. ;) Good to hear that your hair is still curly. I don't want to be the only one around. :P AND, to answer your question, I moved to Hermitage, TN. All went well. :)
It doesn't have as much to do with the time as with the mood. For example, if I were sitting on the patio with a cup of coffee and enjoying the misty early morning air, I'd rather listen to Simon and Garfunkel. But if I were in my car with a cup of coffee in my cupholder an a Burger King Crossain'wich in my lap, getting an early morning start on a long drive, then Metallica would be excellent.
Ahhhhh!! You posted! I posted...let's see...about 3 months ago. :) Tell us the significance of the post in your picture (as opposed to the picture in your post.) I love you!!!!!!!!
Inquiry: Did the Irish Wedding Song sheet music get caught up in your sheet music when you packed? Because we can't find it here, and I last saw it before you left. :P
And now the summer is about over...I can't believe you haven't written something profound in so long! And these boys are still searching for their music...
Indiana Savannah! I haven't been on Facebook so I had no idea it was your birthday yesterday (until I saw Caleb's post just this morning :P). Can you ever forgive me for missing it? ;) Happy birthday, chica! :)
Oh! It's your birthday! Have some SHORTNIN BREAD!!! It will keep you young and refreshed. I should know. I look and feel like a new born babe after I've eaten it.
Where's the reset button? This game is lame. If i had a game, I would program the end to a choose-your-own-adventure story so that it never ever ever gets old
