Now that we've lived in our new place for a couple of months, I believe its time that I finally post some pictures. All of the boxes are unpakced, but I haven't had time to hang anything on the walls yet. Perhaps hubby will have time for that now that his test is over. Anyway...we turned the 3rd bedroom into an office/study. We have a half bath downstairs and two full baths upstairs. The laundry room is upstairs, which is very helpful! Everything seems to be working out so far.

Yesterday was my wonderful husband's birthday. We celebrated with a birthday dinner last night. I even surprised him with an ice cream cake from DQ. It was so cute, and very tasty! His main gift from me was that I made reservations for us to take a 2 hour tour of Mammoth Cave today. He was pretty surprised! He's been talking about wanting to go for over 2 years. So, this morning, we headed down south to the cave. These pictures don't do it justice. It was pretty incredible. I must admit, I was kind of dreading it, but it was really a fun adventure! We walked over 2 miles and at our deepest point, we were 310 feet below ground. Check it out:

Our puppy Pebbles is doing pretty good. Housetraining is progressing along better than I expected...although we still have the occasional accident! :) Last week, Dan and I decided that we should give her a bath. As far as we know, it was her very first bath. So, Puppy's First Bath....did not go well. The whole concept of water was foreign to her. After we got her out of the water and were trying to dry her, her whole body was shaking uncontrollably. So, Dan had the idea of putting a towel in the dryer to get it nice and warm, and then wrapping her in it. It seemed to work because this is exactly how she stayed for the next hour and a half:
She didn't move a muscle, and probably would've stayed like that all night, had we not got her up to put her in her kennel. Needless to say, this week we took her to the groomer's. It was well worth the money!
Last weekend, our good friends from Shelbyville, TN, Sara and Chance, came up to see us. We had a great time with the two of them. We spent most of Saturday at 6 Flags, enjoying the ridiculously short lines and very cool air. Afterwards, we headed to Rocky's on the river for some pretty tasty Italian food.
And, of course, yesterday was HALLOWEEN and my coworkers decided that we should dress up. So, here I am:
I'm supposed to be a cat, but I kinda think I look more like a mouse. Hmm.... well, it was fun, whatever I looked like. And, of course, I bought WAY too much candy. So, now we have 2 huge bags full of sugary sweets that we don't really need. I'm already on a sugar high...I think I need to give this away.
Ok, that's all for now. Everyone enjoy your candy!

This little furball is our new puppy, Pebbles. She's an 8 week old Bichon Frise. She's definitely adding some spice to our lives! She's very sweet, and a bit too smart for us. (She's already discovered how to climb over a baby gate. Now, we have to actually shut doors in order to confine her!)
Anyway, just thought I'd share! |

Thank you all for your kind words regarding my grandmother. The above picture is exactly how I remember her being for most of my life. Sadly, I haven't seen her look like this in over a year. She had really gone downhill in the past few months. In fact, the last time I visited her, she looked so weak that I had to leave the room to gain my composure before heading back in to have a conversation with her. We were all sad for her to go, but we all knew it was for the best. It seemed like almost everyone who came through the line at the funeral home had a touching story to tell about her. She must have been some young woman in her early years! I learned a lot of things about her that I never knew before. All I can say is, she will be greatly missed!
My sweet Grandaddy seems to be doing very well. Dan and I went down on Friday. Dan had to head home Sunday night, but I was able to stay with my family thru Tuesday evening. I didn't enjoy being without him, but I also felt the need to stay with the family for a bit longer. Monday was a recovery day, but by Tuesday, Mom and I were able to get in a little shopping!
On a happier note, 4 years ago today, Dan and I went on our first date. [Little did he know how hard it was going to be to get rid of me!] :) So, we spent the day out together. We saw "Fireproof", then spent the afternoon shopping. We then headed to P.F. Chang's for supper. It was wonderful! It was a good day out with my hubby. I look forward to many more years of dates!
Okay, time for bed.
Goodnight Ya'll,
Krista |
