Well, the long anticipated sequel to Batman Begins is finally here. Eventhough I am an avid Superman fan, I still like Batman. Sarah, Whitney, and I are going to see The Dark Knight tonight. I purchased our tickets online just in case they sold out (THANK YOU WHITNEY!) Well, I hope that everyone has a great weekend! Sarah and I are going to Holiday World with her family tomorrow. We are looking forward to relaxing for the weekend.
I have the most beautiful smart lovely awesome artistic creative fantastic take my breath away wife and I love her to pieces and did I say beautiful? :)
Wyatt's 5th b-day party is going to be a pirate themed party and we need someone to come dressed like a pirate to help with a game or two. do you wear XL, I found the perfect costome?
I can't believe that this year will be 70 years for Superman. Well, I guess I can, seeing that he is the man!! I would ask that you remove your hat(if you are wearing one) and please observe a moment of silence with me.
WOW!! That was refreshing! Keep up the good work Clark, oh I mean Superman! Sorry Clark...no, shhhhh!! Sorry!!!
Sometimes when I feel like killing someone, I do a little trick to calm myself down. I'll go over to the person's house and ring the doorbell. When the person comes to the door, I'm gone, but you know what I've left on the porch? A jack-o'-lantern with a knife in the side of its head with a note that says "You." After that, I usually feel a lot better.
Instead of half-mast, maybe you could fly a flag at three-quarter-mast for a guy who's in a coma. Then, if he gets worse, the flag gets lower, or if he gets better, it starts to move up, so you can just look at the flag and see how he's doing.
Hey to you too! You really should have visited us when we lived near the only "Metropolis" in the U.S. We have some pictures with the giant Superman statue!
Well, we do have a "Metropolis" in Plainfield, but it is an outdoor mall. It's very nice. Sarah and I actually went there to see Superman Returns. How appropriate!! I would love to see those pics.
Have you ever taken the time to sit down and think about everything that you have. It is easy to fall into the habit of complaining because we don't have certain things, or because certain things are happening to us. With the recent flooding that we had, I caught myself thinking that we had it so bad, and then I turned on the news to see that there were thousands of people that were 10 times worse than us.
I try to make it a point to thank God everyday for what I have. I will admit that I do not thank God as much as I should. We should be thanking him daily for everything that he has provided for us. I am thankful to God that he sent his Son for us, so we can have the remission of sins. I am thankful that we have the freedom to assemble with our fellow brothers and sisters to worship God without persecution. I am thankful that He has blessed me with a wonderful wife that loves me. And I love her. I am thankful for our families. I am thankful for the home that we have. I am thankful for our transportation, and I am thankful for our jobs. I could go on!
I am thankful that you are safe. I am thankful for my in-laws and all that we know of dealing with it being safe. I am thankful that I have a place to put my head at night. I could go on and on.
Ok, now before you start making the comments about me being gone for almost 7 months, LET ME SPEAK FOR CRYING OUT LOUD!!!
Well...I really don't have an excuse, so...ANYWAYS!
I hope that everyone is doing well. Sarah and are doing great. Since she started her new job, we have been riding together to work every morning, and I have really enjoyed that. I can tell you that it saves tremendously on gas. It's hard to imagine that since I first started driving that the gas prices have tripled or more. Here is the "GAS PRICE BREAKDOWN", so you know where your $4 per gallon is going.
Oil Company - $2.88
Federal & State Taxes - $0.48
Retailer - $0.32
Refinery - $0.32
I was reading in the news about some concerns here in Indy regarding the recent hike in gas prices. Dr. Esen Gurtunca from the University of Indianapolis says, "I don't see any downside to the higher price of oil." He called the recent increase "very healthy." He also says that Americans have been inefficient in their energy consumption for a long time and are finally being forced to consider their consumption habits.
He compared it to losing weight or getting an education, meaning, in short term it may cause some suffering, but it is also a valuable investment in the future.
A VALUABLE INVESTMENT FOR WHO? THE OIL COMPANIES? My question is this, how long is this short term suffering going to last?
Welcome back, Cuz!!!
I don't like the prices of course. I think we should use our own oil that we have reserved...God made it for us to use!!
And, there may be some truth to us learning conservation of it. Who knows?? I 'm no expert, that's for sure:)
The environmentalists like the high prices to force us to want to create more efficient ways to travel. I don’t mind being efficient, but at the cost of our economy is the stupidity of it. It is putting the cart before the horse big time. Since we now us oil, lets get our own and keep prices reasonable and work on making things more efficient. This hole strong arming us by refusing to let the US drill and refine its own oil is ridiculous. I also hate it that “big oil” is made out to be the bad guy. They only profit around 8 cents a gallon. The profits are high because the consumption is high. Eight cents times billions would be smaller if it were eight cents times millions of gallons. So the number is high but the margin is not. The most the oil companies could do is lower gas by a FEW cents. All the rest of the money goes into costs (just look at the price per bbl). The real culprits are the government and those who refuse to let us increase our own supply to reduce prices. With China and India using mass amounts of oil prices will go up if we don’t help ourselves. I could go on more about this since there are so many factors with gas prices. We are going to be going through Indy tomorrow (Friday) and again next Tuesday. Give me a call (414-243-9849) if you have time to get together.
What car are you two driving in: siver-bullet or blueberry? ;) Yeah, I'm starting to feel the strain down in Florida, although the average price is about $3.80 a gal, due to the state covering some of the taxes, I think.
^^HAHA..WELL.....AND ITS SOO TRUE. HEHEHE. BUT HEY TELL YOUR PARENTS THAT LEWIS AND BONNIE BRADEN SAID HI BACK AND THAT YOUR PARENTS NEED TO COME UP AND VISIT VERY SOON.
I hope that everyone is doing well, and I hope that you all had a great weekend.
For those of you who do not know, Sarah and I lost our baby on Tuesday, October 9th. We are not exactly sure what caused the miscarriage, and we probably never will be. We would not be where we are if it wasn't for all of our family, both physical and spiritual.
We have appreciated all of the prayers, cards, and encouragement from everyone. We love you all very much.
It's a loss that is so hard to take, but we pray the Lord will sooth your hearts and comfort you both through loved ones and future blessings as He did with us. Take care of each other.
Rex, we are so sorry to hear about your loss! We know how devastating that is. Only time and our loving Father above can help to heal that wound. You will be in my every prayer. Please, if Sarah needs to talk I would love to be of any help or encouragement that I can. We love you both!!
I'm very sorry to hear this. (This is Sara (Seaborne) Rhoton.) We lost a baby in March, so I do understand. Please share my sympathies with Sarah. Also, please tell her she can call me anytime if she would like. Our number is 8831149 (should be local to you).
Hi you don't know me, I was visiting websites and came across your site! My name is Deb Griffin & my hubby use to preach where Ken Whittlesey was an elder in KC. I found several of his family memeber on Pleonast & saw your site from one of theirs. I'm so sorry that you have to endure the pain of losing a baby. I've had 2 miscarriages & our baby girl Kendra died at birth. It is difficult, but the one thing I know for sure is that God will bless you with strength that you did not have before. Each of our losses, left us with a new strength & compassion to help others later in life. We pray that God will give you strength to endure what you must, patients to heal & peace that passes all our understanding. The miscarriage group on pleonast is great you might think about checking it out.
