well, thanksgiving was rough on luke. let us never speak of it again. although i am glad we got to see our family!
after a discouraging week of holiday fun, i woke up this morning completely refreshed and ready to "mom", in the verb sense. luke is happy as a clam this morning, and he and i went to buy the groceries together while daddy stayed at home with noah. it was nice to have a little mommy-luke time. he said hi to just about everyone in the store, and elicited a lot of unintelligible responses. love you, east texas!
also, i just bought the david archuletta cd from walmart, and although the songs may not be my particular cup of tea, it doesn't matter to me! sing me the phone book, david archuletta! and it makes me eager for American idol, season 43, or whatever we're on now.
i sold some stuff on ebay recently, so i need to get things shipped off.. but i'm so excited! just a few little things i had lying around the house earned me about 50 bucks! whoop.
um, what else. we're going to start looking for a place in garland/richardson/whatever... soon... LOTS of work to do for that... 3 months sounds like a lot of time, but not when i consider all the things that need to be done before we can do it! *head explode*
good job on the ebay! I love selling stuff! We lost doc today- it is a sad day. He's got to be here somewhere, but J is really missing him. I hope I find him soon...=o)
Things are looking good around here! Lots of things to be thankful for. I took Noah in for his 4 month check up on Monday, he weighed in at 17.5 pounds, and 28.5 inches long! He's also got his first tooth cutting through- so shots and a tooth, and still all smiles. What a joy of a child!
Luke is doing SO great, he's talking lots more now, mostly about Cars. If you listen carefully to his jabbering, you'll notice that he's talking TO the cars, ABOUT things that happen in the movie. For instance, he'll be jabbering away at Sally, and you'll hear him say to her..."QaaWeen??", or talking to Mater, he'll throw in a "trator?" It's so cute. Also, i got out some flash cards this morning, and realized he can read several words that i didn't know he could. he consistently got apple, car, fish, and ball right. he said sun for moon, and apple for house. =P oh well. I'm so proud of my little guy!
Well, we have some big news... we've been invited to work with the Campbell Rd. church in Garland, and so Lord willing we'll be moving west in a couple of months! please pray for us, that work, and the wonderful church here in Grand Saline during this transition.
Well, a big day tomorrow, we've got lots of packing to do in the morning and a big day of driving, eating, and family! and overstimulating luke.
Sarah, that's great news! I heard my uncle and dad talking about that today, but I didn't know who it was that would be joining Campbell Road! Fabulous. I hope you guys have a very smooth transition. How exciting!
The weather has been so wonderful lately that I've been wanting to drink more hot drinks: hot tea, hot chocolate, even coffee every now and then- so I went out to WalMart this afternoon and bought myself a tea kettle. It was on sale for 13.00, so I bought a new skillet that was also on clearance to even things out. But I'm really looking forward to making myself some hot tea in my new kettle tonight after all the needy people are in bed. :)
Now that Luke is in love with Cars (the movie, but also in general), he walks around the house saying "caCHAAAAAAA" and he has a few of the toys which he carries with him everywhere. Doc, Chicken, and Queen love to take baths, eat pretzels, "nap"(read- play), and play in the sand box as well. :) It's just how he used to be with Thomas...thank goodness for personified vehicles marketed to small children.
Noah is doing great too... at almost 4 months, he's 18 pounds, and way too long for his 6 month clothes. He's teething in earnest now, but still the sweetest little thing you ever saw. He appears to have a much higher pain tolerance than, some... other wonderful child who I love dearly but won't mention specifically...
Anyways!! We're loving November weather, and getting excited for the holidays! Can't wait to see our family and friends! Here's a little video of Noah laughing... it looks like I'm shaking him silly but I think/hope that's just the way it looks on film. I'm actually just *twisting* him back and forth. :)
We are about to embark on a MAJOR dejunking of the kids' toys. I am sure the carnage will include several (if not more) cars related items. Would you be interested? :) ...oh, and maybe some Thomas stuff, also. :)
Noah has added turning over to his long list of accomplishments! he hates being on his tummy so much- now i don't see how i'll ever get him to stay tummy down. he cries until he turns himself over, and then he's happy as a clam!
After two weeks of complete chaos and a meltdown or two, luke seems to be happily settling back into his routine! he is now in love with the movie Cars, and goes around the house saying "queen?, queen?" He is so love-y lately too... he's giving me the sweetest hugs and kisses, completely unsolicited! love it. wish i could put them in a jar and save them!
in other news, i have discovered fabric softener! yay! it's so great- my clothes are so smelly good and soft, my laundry room even smells good. or as good as a room with a trash can full of diapers can smell. but anyways, i can't believe it's taken me this long to try it!
obviously not a lot of news to share, but i needed an excuse to post this adorable picture!
ooh, I love fabric softener too! That is a great picture- he is so cute! He looks very pleased with himself! We just discovered Cars too! Jackson's favorite line is, 'that's alright, you can take Bessie! Who's Bessie?' He says this over and over and then cracks up. =o) We skip the tractor part and also the part where Mac is falling asleep- a little scary. =o)
here is a picture of the 4 of us while in lake charles, in front her awesome photo op!!
in your amazement at noah's cuteness, it may have escaped your notice that his head is super enormous. and what you can't see from the picture is that it's flat in the back from laying on his back so much. *sigh*. but the funny thing is that luke's head is also shaped oddly... but in the opposite way. it looks normal from the front, but it's very long in the back, he has what jake's mom calls the "extra piece of head".
in a seemingly unrelated story, jake and i were watching the office once, when i had occasion to ask him what "moon faced" meant. also, if i had one. and he hemmed and hawed a little, so i guess i'm moonfaced/headed, and as a result my poor kids have oddly shaped heads.
anyways, you put a family picture out there and you can't hide it anymore!! we have weird heads. except for jake, i guess.
tummy time! It's the best preventative for flat-headed children. =o) That is a good picture of you guys! We are seriously lacking in pictures of all 4 of us. =o(
oh, but see...they never called me Mrs. Frazier but a few times...they called me Mrs. Frederick. haha. I think that's because the sub that was already in the room thought I said that, so she told the kids that. oh well. i guess the good thing about subbing is that you get a clean slate everyday.
