I started a new group for parents and parents-to-be to discuss how to successfully raise faithful children.
Raising Faithful Children
Why I Started This Group:
"My name is Ashley and I have been married to my husband, Brian, for 6 years. We are considering having children in the future, and I started this group to have a bible-study of sorts to discuss how to raise faithful children.
I am discouraged when I see Christian parents raise children, only to have them fall away. Part of me does not want to take the risk of conceiving a child - if saving their soul is only a 50/50 chance. I want to know, with all my heart, that it is possible for parents today to raise ALL faithful children. Not just one. Not "some" or "most". But ALL.
Please understand that the focus on this group is ETERNAL. If you have a problem with someone "drawing a line" where you feel a line is not necessary - please consider it not as criticism toward your personal parenting philosophies - but as a step they are taking in order to raise faithful children.
An example of this may be: not having a television in the house. Granted, there are many educational programs and appropriate programs for children today. But there is also the temptation, the uncensored commercials, the language - sinful exposure that a parent cannot "control" regardless of how much they try. My parents purchased a TV-Guardian, which is great, but every time it edits out a word it almost emphasizes the fact there was foul language in the program. Television in itself is not sinful. But the removal of a television (or only using a television to play specific movies or programs) may be some parent's choice in order to do their best to raise faithful children.
Thank you for joining. Thank you for your input. And thank you for keeping your thoughts on things above."
I've posted a couple Bible verses on there to begin a couple discussions. I will add more tomorrow as I have time. I am very interested in your thoughts if you are a parent, or if you are thinking about having children someday, or if you have raised children. Everyone's input is welcome! |

"...Any funds collected through this effort will be given to them to assist with their medical expenses, as well as the travel expenses of their family members. I’m told that the funeral costs are already being covered. Even if you are far away, this is something that you can do to help them out in this time of need. Even if you can only spare a small amount, it will add up if enough people contribute...
If you can help, please make a check out to
MATT OR LAUREN BASSFORD
and send it to the address below:

...And of course, please continue to pray for them. Lauren's words to me yesterday were "Pray for our sanity. We're going to need it." Hug your children tight tonight and count your blessings..." |

Please keep Lauren & Matt continually in your prayers,
their baby girl passed away after a 42-week pregnancy.
The LORD is close to the brokenhearted
and saves those who are crushed in spirit.
