I am listening to Napster, just like the old days! Happiness. It's been a long time since I've had one of those "searching for new music" sessions. Maybe I should give it a try again sometime.
Guess what? We have black widows in our garage. Yup. It has totally freaked me out. I have been anxious about it half the day. Seriously. It has really messed me up. Dad went out today and tried to lessen the problem. What happened is that we had a bunch of stuff crowded together on our back porch. Yesterday, Dad decided to move it into the garage, and there were widows in that stuff, and so they got moved into the garage (we figured that out because we saw one on one of the boxes Dad was moving). I wasn't that worried about it until I went into the garage to get some chicken out of the freezer, and looked down and right next to the door there one was, just a few inches from being in the house.
Now I know, I have greater chances of surviving a black widow bite than dying from it, but still, I researched them today, and I'm just not prepared for that traumatic expierience. I was taught my whole to fear those things like the plague, so you can imagine the torture I've been through today.
If they stay in the garage, I might be okay, but if they come in the house...oh, it'll be bad. So, I have been praying that God will keep us safe from the widows, and that we will be able to get rid of them. It just really gives me the heebie geebies.
In other news, we had some kids throwing smashed up bricks at garage doors in the neighborhood. They are now in juvenile detention. Yes, we have some interesting people in this neighborhood.
But now for some good news! My boss and his children came to church Sunday night. That made us all very happy. Our preacher preached a sermon that he put together specifically for my boss (he didn't know that though), it was straight forward, and addressed a lot of things, and my boss and his daughter still seem interested! SO that is very good. Continued prayers on James and his family's behalf would be very much appreciated. Thanks for all the praying that you have already done.
Moving on to other things... I am in an awful state of un-motivation and procrastination. Today was my day off, and I got next to nothing done (of course, I'm sure those black widows didn't help). So, when you feel this way, how do you get yourself out? I really don't have time to do nothing.
About the holidays, we are acctually having somewhat of a dinner party on Thanksgiving! We even have place cards for the table. We are only having three friends from church, but still, it's something we've never done before. We will really miss our sisters, though. I hope you guys have fun in Alabama! Thanksgiving will be different, but I think it will still turn out well. And then, after Thanksgiving starts all the Christmas celebrations!
Oh, well, it's really late, AGAIN. And I have work tomorrow, and preparation for company, so i should start to finish things up. So goodbye to all, have a happy and safe Thanksgiving! Maybe I will post again in time to wish you a merry Christmas!
When I first read it, I thought you said you had black wiNdows. I was thinking "what's the big deal??". Black widows do pose a slightly scarier problem.
Hope you and the entire Craig clan have a very Happy Thanksgiving!
Ick ick ick to the black widows! I hope you are able to slay them all.
Happiness for you boss' attendance! I hope much more good comes! Yet even with what you've already done, you've achieved a triumph! :-) Your example has already glorified God!
Yay! I'm glad your life is happy, black widows not withstanding. We've really enjoyed being back in Alabama with the grandparents, but it's really strange--when we first got here, we kept expecting you guys to walk in the room, since Em and I have never been here by ourselves. Alabama is beautiful. I miss it. Not as much as I miss you guys though ;)
I do NOT own the tv series, "Stargate Atlantis". But we are rather fond of their characters and sometimes feel like they are our friends. In this story, they are! ;-)
As some of you may remember...Stefanie had a birthday adventure to Atlantis last year...
Well, I guess it's becoming tradition.
Remember those bad guys I mentioned last year? Yeah...the ones I accidentally exposed to the human race?
Yep. That's them.
Well it just so happens that when we arrived just in time as the whole Atlantis expedition expected us, there was a bunch of wraith everywhere! And do you know what I found odd? That some familar faces looked like this:
We were confused, and stood quite still, and were quite baffled. How come there were many hungry-looking wraiths and the Atlantis Expedition looked perfectly calm?
Then, due to a friendly face Stefanie moved forward, and many of her family members and their reflexes, moved towards her but was held back by a strange, complex technology that blocked all of us --except Stefanie-- to move away from the gate.
And then it was explained to us.
"*Big breath*Due to some strange virus that was accidentally (but fortunatley) hacked into the Wraith Hive ships they have been friendly towards eighteen-year-olds. They came to invade Atlantis, but, fortunatley, they overheard, ahh-um,--who was it?--Me and Shepherd? Me and Ronon? Ah, well, I can't remember--they overheard somebody talking about having an eighteen-year-old's birthday party and since then they have been perfectly at ease.
I was rather taken aback to see wraith approach my sister so...happily?
And couldn't help wondering if that was a look of a pleasurable appetite.
"We would be honorrreeddd," breathed a raspy wraith, "To hold a party for you after the Atlantis expedition has their honorable party."
"What?" said Shepherd, "You can't do that. What are you doing to feed her?"
The wraith said that they had stolen chocolate from the storage rooms.
Much to our dismay and concern, the Atlantis leader expressed that this would be a good way to further understand the Wraith race. So Stefanie agreed to it. ONLY. If the team came with her.
"Fine."
And you see...While Dr. Rodney Mckay was gathering interesting information on the wraith technology while they were all transfixed upon Stefanie, I had no idea that the Wraith were holding a party in the lunch room.
And I was kinda hungry.
People were kinda surprised to see me.
And then the wraith's laughing came to an end and they looked delighted to see me.
Only...in a different way...
Apparently fifteen-year-olds look scrumptious.
Whoops. There goes another birthday-party crash. Oh well. I guess we'll go eat at Chili's now.
Teyla was disappointed that she wouldn't get to sing with you.
Let's just say people weren't very happy with me...Gulp.
Happy Birthday, Stefanie! I can't wait to see the pictures of your birthday party in Atlantis! (I hope you didn't get too many of those Wraiths. Especially close-ups. They look kind of scary.) I love you!
Happy birthday! You should take Kathryn up on her brithday present! (Actually it would be a present from all of us cause we're all wanting to chip in! ;-)
Stef, you'll be happy to know that I discovered that an FC student who goes to Antioch with me thinks that John Sheppard is drop-dead gorgeous. Y'all should be friends, LOL!
Thanks y'all for all the sweet comments! I will still try to do the "tag" thing, but not right now (it's too late!)
I just wanted to post really quick to ask for some prayers. I invited my boss and one of the managers from Taco Bueno to our gospel meeting that we're having this week.
My boss, James, told me Saturday that he plans on coming Tuesday with his family. Or that he thought Tuesday would be good night for them to go...or something.
The aforementioned manager, Laura, also expressed an interest in coming.
So I just wanted to ask you all if you would pray that they DO come, that they won't change their mind, or nothing will come up that will prohibit them from coming, and also that you would pray for me.
I've never really been in a situation like this, so I'm nervous. Please pray that I will be a good example, and that I will say the right things when I have opportunity to talk to them about the Bible.
Thank you, thank you, thank you!
I am nervous and excited all at the same time!
Feel free to leave advice and suggestions that you may have!
Hey, y'all, this is Rainy Dog here. I tagged Stefanie, but...she's not doing it, and I came up with a better idea.
I'm not bashing her for not fulfilling her tagged-self, and if she wants to remain tagged to say eight facts about herself, that's fine. But I thought that we should give her a break and maybe be a little sweet. ;-)
I want YOU to leave two endearing facts about Stefanie.
Spread da love.

Last week I sat down and figured out a school schedule for myself. If followed, I could get a ton of school done by the end of the year, WITHOUT doing school on the weekends, or during the last week and a half or so of December for the holidays and such. And "the plan" wasn't one of those big scary things you look at and hopelessly say: "That's impossible!" The night I wrote it all up and taped it on the wall next to my desk, I was feeling pretty good.
But work threw me off. And now I am behind. Only a week, though (less than a week, actually). And then there's getting to bed late, sleeping in, procrastinating, and such stuff. Sigh...maybe I'll get myself pulled together sooner or later..
I am soo, soo excited about December. Because I will get see Emily, and I will get to go to work with her, and introduce her to all my new coworkers. And I'm going to beg my boss to let me work drive thru with her.
Also, Christmas is in December. It will be our first Christmas with Chloe!
On the other hand Christmas doesn't need to come too fast... what with all that school....
So, my dear, dear Bocky TAGGED me! Don't really know what to say. Is it 8 random facts, or 8 interesting facts? Either way, I'm going to need a little longer to figure out what to write.
Whoa, I just posted my blog without even saying goodbye!
Stef, you HAVE to get done with school on time! I've been counting on it!! I want to go to school with you next year! I can't decide if I'll be off campus next year, or in the dorms. There are pros and cons with each.
Stef...I caught the music bug! Ever sine I bought an iPod and downloaded iTunes, I spend altogether too much time looking at different music and trying to find music that I like. As I sat here, at midnight, listening to music clips from someone by the name of John Forman whom I never heard of before, wondering if I should buy his music, it struck me: "I've turned into Stefanie!"
ummmmmmm its hard to explain but they range from 20-50 dallors. it is a thing that you pin to your shirt adn it has ribbons, belling, a teddy bearn inthe center so it looks like a first prize award at a fair jsut prettier adn longer
