just saying Hi 05-27-08 01:31pm EST
Hey
loveofjebsGlad you posted just something so that I can write you too! We are so glad you got to come down too. Glad you had a good time with Camille and Nancy. We do hope that you can visit again next year.
ncreavesWow girl. Do I have to read between the lines? Is there a hidden message somewhere? Not complaining, actually I'm just glad you are on here. Think I will have about 10 suitcases this time with the bulk of the weight being songbooks and Bibles. Thanks for the books,etc.. you got for Sheila. Thanks. Miss you. We had such a super time in Charleston that I was almost like Camille and didn't want it to end.
ncreavesWould you believe we have 10 suitcases in all for here! 100 pounds of song books came and are very appreciated. By the way, are ya'll still getting new songbooks? Jeb and Sheila would love 10 or so--that way when Americans come they can sing and that would be so encouraging to them. We took a suitcase full of clothes to Ocosingo. I wish you could have seen their joy and excitement. We hope to carry another one Friday. Brownie is speaking for them that evening with Jeb translating, of course. We had George and his family over for supper tonight. Sheila and I tried to make dishes that would be different from their style of cooking. It went well. Then we played spoons--that was so funny. They loved it. We are loving on these grandkids of ours and glad to be with our family here. Thinking of you and appreciating your contribution to the people here.
srorgainI've certainly been thinking a lot about all of you. Guess Brownie told you we talked right before he came down. Sure he told you all about his hilarious message to me. We are still getting new books, but don't know exactly when. If 10 will do it for the congregation there, I can probably round up that many before we discard. BTW, I just discovered how to get to this page, so I'm just now (7-17-08) reading Sheila's first comments of 5-27-08. I miss you all, too. Collin Stringer spoke for us last night; while talking to his wife, Jory, I learned that her brother worked with Brownie in England (if I have that right). I was telling her how much fun we always had. She said she and her sisters went to Charleston for the first time. She talked about going to a place close to the slave mkt for dessert every night. I related to her how we tried to do that and ended up at a market eating candy bars and ice cream treats. What did you all cook for George and his family? What about the baby? I'm assuming it's been born by now. Please give them my regards. Love you
ncreavesI'm back! Had a great trip. Fixed salmon and a cawliflower and cheese casserole and my favorite steamed spinach with garlic and lemon sauce and a couple of other things and an apple pie. They loved it. The baby was a sweet little girl. I had a chance to study with one of their adoped daughters with Jeb translating--actually, it was more of a counseling session. They are such a wonderful family. Brownie baptized a new daughter-in-law too. That was exciting. Hopefully his other son will become a Christian soon. It was a busy and profitable trip. I already miss the kids. Thanks for your help with everything .The brethern in Okasingo were so thrilled when we opened the suitcases. i wish you could have been there to see the excitement and their joy. Love to you.
ncreavesThanks so much for asking about the songbooks for us. We could use alot so we could have some for a singing. We don't have enough for that now. Jeb and Sheila would enjoy some too so we can sing with them when we come (maybe 6 0r 8). Just heard from Sheila that Hermana Petra is being tested again and they are thinking that the cancer has returned. Please remember her in your prayers. I am already looking forward to seeing you some time in Oct. Being with you and Camille is such a good break for me. Have you seen Jake's blog with the picture of his girlfriend. Looks like this is the one. :) We plan to go to Denver for a weekend in Oct. for Brownie's B'day...it'll probably be my b'day present too. :) Still can't believe I'm going to be 60. Too weird. Has it really been that long ago that we were at FC? Miss you and love to you all.
