Fireproof 09-27-08 08:34am EST
Have you heard about the new movie coming out this weekend?? It's called Fireproof and I heard it is playing in Gainesville at the theatres by Toys R Us. It is directed by the same 2 men who made Facing the Giants. Fireproof is geared toward making our marriages stronger and these men love God, so I assume they are good, clean movies. I am hoping to go see it soon. Let's support good, clean movies so they will make more. There's enough trash to pollute our minds out there, let's fill it up with good stuff this week and let them know there is a viewing audience that will pay for good films.
arsenalYes, Pat and I are not theater goers but it will be placed in my Netflix cue.
arsenalWent to Harding St's meeting and saw Vicki Washburn. She appears well and remembers you. I was a bit confused on how you knew her but she straightened me out. Its your sister who lives here. Somehow I got the idea it was Vicki's sister you knew. Well, anyway somebody's sister lives here who knows both you and Vicky. j/k
margieI am. I didn't find this out until Wednesday night after church
arsenalYes, I had the same experience coming back from England. A 747 packed stem to stern with people going over and coming back. That was 1995. I didn't fly again until 2006 when I needed to take a quick trip to Philadelphia. I'm OK after the plane gets in the air because chances of corrections if soemthing goes wrong are better. On takeoffs I always have that picture of the American Airlines plane that took off from Chicago and the engine fell off on the runway. All were killed. I've heard that it would have been survivable if the plane had more altitude. I've heard another report that it should have been survivable anyway but the pilots used the wrong procedure.
cindykaySome friends saw the movie last night and highly recommend it! I'd love to see it myself!
sunnydI plan to see it today. Saw Facing the Giants, Amazing Grace, and The Ultimate Gift all while in Gville and really enjoyed them. Not BIG budget movies but I went with an open mind and was pleasantly surprised. Hope you enjoy it!
rachelwe might go see it tonight. It's in stadium 16, not the gator theatres by toys r us. They're down the steet a bit, closer to 34th.
stampergirl^^^Thanks for the correction.
sunnydJason and I went to see the movie yesterday afternoon. Now, like Facing the Giants, it is not going to be up for any Academy Awards but it was great movie. In fact, there was one part of the movie that just got me. There is a scene where Kirk Cameron's character is sitting with his father at a summer camp ground near his house. He is griping about how he doesn't know how he can be expected to love someone who constantly disrespects him, rejects him, and mocks him. The camera moves from him to his father who is leaning against a cross on the grounds. He shifts the focus from Caleb's problem to the issue Christ faced. He got his son to see that the rejection he was giving the Lord was very close to that he was receiving from his wife... and nothing would improve with his wife until he changed his attitude toward Him. I just broke into tears. Wow! It made me so thankful I have a husband who loves the Lord and that our marriage is built on Christ as the foundation. It also taught me I need to do more to work on mour marriage than I do. Jason felt the same way.
rachelhe preached in starke last night so we were both there
cecileI wish I could get you seeds from the plant, but I took that picture at Mary Moseley's school near her classroom. Maybe she can help you? Sorry! :)
auntjennywrenbnbmom325 probably needed to reprice her bass on her blog so that everybody that had seen her previous price would know that it changed. :)
musicgirlBirds N Blooms? I think I've heard of that before... I'm thinking about starting to submit them somewhere
Oh, and you're welcome! :)
sunnydI ordered the study they sell based on the movie Fireproof. Jason and I haven't yet started but we will begin soon. I will let you know how it goes.
sunnydI went to the Fireproof website. THey had a deal where you could buy the couples' study and it came with two copies of The Love Dare. Jason and I will begin both next week. I am sure it is much more fun when the other person doesn't know... but we aren't in the same place as the movie characters were. Should be a fun month! BTW, the whole thing ran about $40.
christilmtI've got the info on LeLeche and have some great resources. :D
justgThank you for your sweet comment...I just don't see it!
coolbeansyeah...I'll still be working every other weekend, but at least I'll be getting every other one off! =)
sdl_112805Thanks. I went to the group but I don't see a link to join.
sunnydAwww... I love that you and Rebecca talk. Just lovely.
bsnowyThank you for the birthday wishes. :)
stefaniethanks!! I saw Fireproof...it was awesome!! I loved it! They have a book in the Christian book store that is just like the book that Kirk Cameron had in the movie.
